My mum often put my hair up with elastic bands and it hurt like hell getting them out....................and awful cheap plasters that became part of your skin, could only be forced of after a long soak in the bath while painfully peeling them off with a knife.

yeeeees - he's a year older than me and I'm a bit to say I actually fancied him when I was old enough to know better!

I had a photo of him on wall, right by the pillow, so i could kiss him goodnight and good morning. yeuk.

We had horrible dissolvable Disprin when we were ill
You could buy a half penny sweet
A packet of crisps cost you 10p
I loved Hubba Bubba bubble gum
I would read the Twinkle comic when I was really young, which was replaced with Girl when I was a bit older
You could send away for golly badges with tokens from your Robertsons jam
You could buy stardust that crackled in your mouth

We used to cut the pics out of old Jackie magazine and plaster em all over our bedroom walls, so there was no wall showing at all.

Yes, I always remember that Nurse Nancy story & one about a naughty little brother, in Twinkle mag!

I remember Twinkle too. And Whizzer and Chips.

My fav was Nurse Nancy too. it was a dolly hospital if my old memory serves me right.

I cant actually remember any of the stories at all.

OOoooh oooh, does anyone remember the cardboard dolls you got on the back cover of a magazine. The magazine was full of clothes to cut out for them, with little tabs to fold over so they held on. There were hats, shoes, everything.

Ohhh, I used to LOVE them & would also make my own!

yep, yep, wetting myself now at the memories flooding back. I would cut out all the outfits.

I used to buy them for DD when she was little too, so they are still around.

Walkie Talkie dolls? They were kind of scary!
I also had a First Love doll that had elastic band bits in her joints. I pierced her ears with pins!
You could play out in the street without worrying too much about being run over, as there were far fewer cars about too.

Watching the Mini Pops?

There were always loads of other kids to play with. If one couldnt come out to play, somebody else would. You just knocked on doors till someone said yes.

and there was usualy some working class gal who was taught battlet by a strange woman in black who had a cane, and had once been a famous ballerina who had some accident that stopped her dancing!

I had a smelly rubber collection! I was especially proud of my swiss roll rubber!!
You could get fruit smelling felt tip pens too, but I think they banned them incase children were tempted to kind of eat them!!

Pipkins & Bod on the TV!

pipkins was very cute, and a bit strange!

bod was on nk jnr recently my ds really got into it but he pronunced pc copper as pc cupboard!

you could take bottles back and get money:o

I always remember the strings of the puppets on pipkin being very visable!
