My mum often put my hair up with elastic bands and it hurt like hell getting them out....................and awful cheap plasters that became part of your skin, could only be forced of after a long soak in the bath while painfully peeling them off with a knife.

there was one tv programme in the morning and 15 mins of Jackanory in the afternoon - that was it tv wise.

DS1 (8) saw an advert yesterday for a portable colour TV and asked me if he could have one and what colour would it be? I had to then explain to him that it just meant that it wasn't a black and white screen - he looked at me like I had arrived from Mars!! Grin

i played on the construction site next door to the house - mum knew where i ws. i used to climb scafflding and mess around in half finished houses.

we had houses knocked down accross the road from us we called it the croft - derelict piece of land for years.

my friend kay and i used to go and get bricks and stack up two rows and make orselves a house and then pick flowers for the house - and find cups for the house - etc etc - all treasures from the demolished houses.
