morning all, my friends ds has been asked to attend a meeting with the agency moviemites. she is unsure as she hasn't access to internet at present to check them out, so i said i would ask you lot if anyone has had experiance of moviemites or knows of someone that has and also she would like to know what are there fees.

sh11 · 02/12/2005 11:34

hi
DS has been called for an interview! at Rascals, has anyone been what do they do, ask etc

TwinGirls2003 · 02/12/2005 12:43

Hi everyone - am new to this thread! My 5 year old DD went for an interview at Rascals a few weeks ago. The whole process only took about 10 mins. The lady owner is very business like - bordering on the abrupt really. She discussed with us about the up-front costs (£125 for photo's and £155 for a years representation) and explained the casting process/licensing aspect. In the end we decided to sign with another agency as we didn't feel that we would have a very good rapport with her. They did seem very busy whilst we were there - the phone was constantly ringing - and she was saying that they get plenty of work. Hope this helps!

shelley85 · 02/12/2005 13:53

i emailed bruce and brown, they look quite good with nothing to pay up front and no subscription fees, and i've posted photos to kids london. still waiting to hear back. It's so confusing who to approach though with there being so many and so many scams going!

hahahehe · 02/12/2005 14:04

hiya sh11, quick question for you......You were really keen on kidslondon - I was just wondering what you knew of them as my little man was offered representation by them but I didn't know what to do? Any info would be greatly received.

mythumbelinas · 02/12/2005 14:54

hahahehe .. i mentioned my two dd's are with Kids London and i chose them from personal recommendation .. somebody whose kids have been with them for many yrs and had plenty of work and has not one complaint about them.
I did go for interview with MOT aswell .. and found them very friendly and professional too.

sh11 · 03/12/2005 13:56

hahahehe, hi I reallu wanted to be with kids london, heard good stuff about them, their work also speaks for itself. when were u offered rep' and did u turn it down?

sh11 · 03/12/2005 13:58

mythumbelina - hi how old are your daughters? please can u let me know how much kids london charge etc and what do mot say ay interview

hahahehe · 03/12/2005 23:09

sh11, I have been sitting on their acceptance letter for a few weeks - they only charge £25 which is taken from the first job! I was just interested in what you had heard about them.
Mythumberlinas - THANK YOU so much for your response, its nice to hear from someone with a positive experience. Good luck to your girls.

sh11 · 04/12/2005 14:22

i'm not sure i want to pay 280 to rascals, hahahhehe you are very lucky with kids london and only £25 I would go for it if I were u, even if there aren't many jobs its not a lot to lose!

sh11 · 04/12/2005 19:19

accepted by bizzykids, rascals, urban angels - bright sparks, BMA, cheeky kids, plain jane and models direct!

tinkerbellchelle · 04/12/2005 20:33

sh11 are you actually currently with an agency or are you still deciding?
So have you now been accepted by urban angels? Are you not having to meet them in january? Sorry just thought u said they wanted to meet u in jan? Could be me getting the wrong end of the stick? sorry if it is.

You've quite a few agencies to choose from good luck xxxx
Have u signed with BK as I know we were talking about there photoshoot? Did u go? x

tigeryuan · 05/12/2005 09:11

morning!
we went to the photoshoot yesterday with bk. took about 10 mins. shame that my little one didn't smile at all!!!

at least he didn't cry!! hahaa!!

sh11 · 05/12/2005 09:46

hi, well actually now reading through the message thoroughly I have realised that Urban angels are meeting everyone in Jan then let you know! so hopefully we might get in. I thought it was - they like the pictures and just want to see if the childs well behaved and smiling!?! which mine is cos thats what rascals do.

Anyway I decided not to go for the BK photoshoot as I said my DS changes every few days and it wont be worth it.

sonya291275 · 05/12/2005 10:00

Hi can anyone give mt the website for BMA and cheeky kids as i would like to see what they think of my DS snapshots. I have been accpted by rasclas and have a testshoot with tuesdaychild, but not to sure which to go with.Has anyone had any experience with the above agencies.

sonya291275 · 05/12/2005 16:10

Thanks for them i have also got to reply to Bright sparks but need to find some infor of they website first but cant seem to find the weblink any more. Has anyone got it

cheers

sh11 · 05/12/2005 18:09

www.brightsparksonline.com/howmuch.htm

sh11 · 05/12/2005 18:11

hi sonya
do u know whats involved in the test shoot etc.. they dont charge fees apparently!...

where do u live

tinkerbellchelle · 05/12/2005 21:02

Just looked on that brightsparks and I think they do charge a fee but not a joining fee. If you go on the q&a part then it says about the fee why it is being charged.

Hope everyone is well? Any new jobs or castings. We havent yet but my LO is currently suffering with an ear infection so will be typical something will come up now

mythumbelinas · 06/12/2005 09:54

Hi sh11, my kids are 22m and 6. Older one has been for model book shoot and they only took 50% since she's new and rest when she does a job, which was £85. Little one doesn't need to be on the book till she's older, and she's had work. It's optional whether u want ur child to be on the book or not, but i have to send in some updated pics soon. They take 25% off jobs.
It was just an informal interview with MOT to see my child and give me the forms, etc. They asked if my little one wanted to be in the model book which was £150. When i turned them down, they were still polite.
I really tried to search for good agencies, like everybody else, i didn't want to be conned, but i accept nothing is guaranteed and mostly ur child has to be with the right agency with the right clients at the right time .. and not all become established.
Lots of luck to everybody's kids too
