Did anyone try Plain Jane in Essex, its totally free to join, so nothing to lose!

tinkerbellchelle · 28/11/2005 18:46

sh11... see my baby boy has started to slow down with his changing. I mean it must be for 2006 I would think.
They said photographic agents use the book mainly, I mean Im sure u will get work thru the book as they will understand that your LO has changed.

I think the photo shoot was worth it for the fact of knowing what a casting was like as well as geting some good pics. Just cant wait to see what they look like.
Sorry this turned into a waffle x

Morning SH11, Best thing to do is drop your booker at Bizzykidz an email and ask them what book it is for - they won't mind and are really quick at getting back to you. The book is optional so you don't have to go into it. Plus many clients use the website so you can still get work via it - we are not in the book yet and we have had work!
Hope that helps a little

sh11 · 29/11/2005 09:29

thanks hahahehe I'll probably do that, I just didn't want to bother her at this early stage! Anyway I feel it is better to go into the yearly book after age 1 or 1 1/2 because they dont change as much then...

hahahehe · 29/11/2005 10:22

SH11, I am sure they won't mind - they have always been happy to answer any questions we have had. I can see where you are coming from with regards to the model book, as my little man seems to change every day!!! (still no teeth thought!!) ......you can always go into it next year - theres no pressure to go into it now.
I know KidsLondon don't put babies in the model book until they are 3 because they change too much!! hope that helps

lanismum · 29/11/2005 11:14

shelley85, if you read further down this thread, there are loads and loads of posts saying how bad models direct are, i have had no experience of them, but the general opinion is to avoid them like the plague

diva4mgl · 29/11/2005 11:29

shelley85 · 29/11/2005 12:00

whats the best agency to approach, bizzykids said they were interested too but they want money up front

CadburyGirl · 29/11/2005 12:38

Shelley,

There are quite a few agencies out there but I think the best are:

Scallywags
Urban Angels
Elisabeth Smith
Bizzykidz
MOT Junior
Bruce and Brown
Rascals

I think Models Direct and Little Acorns are to be avoided.

CadburyGirl · 29/11/2005 12:39

Not all from personal experience by the way but from what I've heard.

sh11 · 29/11/2005 12:52

also:
truly scrumptious
norrie carr
kids london

totallyfloaty35 · 01/12/2005 10:53

hi, has anyone with older kids 7+ had any jobs/castings lately? the deafening silence of the telephone is getting to my eldest, she keeps asking why nobody wants her.. how do you explain to older ones that its not them, she is so desperate to do this?

perfumelady · 01/12/2005 11:11

hi totallyfloaty35, i wonder weither it is quiet due to all the christmas campagnes having been done. i would image that it will be quiet until the new year then maybe all the spring items will be started.

my dd's are 8 and 11, i find that the only way is to not talk about the modelling to much i only really mention it when we do get a phone call and not when we don't that way life goes on as normal and the 8yr old forgets about it

littlechristmaself · 01/12/2005 11:12

totallyfloaty35 its a quiet time for all ages

marymay · 01/12/2005 14:56
