hi perfumelady.i thought the set up was great.everyone was very friendly.as this was our first experience i have nothing to compare it to.we went with them as someone that used to work in publishing said they were great.has your dd been modelling for a long while ? sorry if you said this already.has she done lots of shoots

marymay · 24/11/2005 21:59

hi tinkerbellchelle .my dd is 9.but i know they get loads of work for babies

perfumelady · 24/11/2005 22:17

mary may no my dd that is with urban angels is new to it,but my other dd has done one shoot with bk but that was ages ago.

marymay · 24/11/2005 22:40

hi perfumelady why did you choice two different agencies for your dd? just being nosey

perfumelady · 24/11/2005 23:35

when my ist dd joined bk i didn't know about this site, we had one job almost straight away, i think if we had received more work i would have def' stayed just with bk but i watched more and more postings saying i got accepted by bk and i just thought maybe as i have two dd's that i should try the other dd with another agency, but i haven't got any thing against bk because we have had a job from them and i know that they can't get everyone work all the time, and at the time i was seeing some great feedback about urban angels and what i liked was the fact that they don't take on many children each year and seeing all that helped me make my mind up.

sh11 · 25/11/2005 09:28

i still would not go with or recommend MD, even after that email. I was just saying that maybe they do get jobs for 10 out of the 1000 babies they have with them.

marymay · 25/11/2005 10:39

perfumelady.i agree my dd was also asked to join bk and i was going to go with them.but we chose urban angels instead.it will interesting to see how many dd urban angels have in each age group and if they all look different.

tinkerbellchelle · 25/11/2005 10:43

we are due to go and see urban angels in january. Just wondering the assesment is it just basically to see LO in real and also how they react with other people etc?
I guess we will be at no loss to go and see what they think of us, they might turn little one down anyway. If not then we will have to consider what we wanna do.
SH11 I understand what u were saying about MD at least they do maybe get some babies work but I guess it would be a real chance for anyone who goes with them xxx

Enid · 25/11/2005 10:47

well said crunchie

you are right it was years ago so I have no idea which agencies are good or bad - sorry, this means I have no constructive advice to offer anyone

Enid · 25/11/2005 10:48

and I hate to say it (especially as I didnt have kids then so was probably harder) but number 5 on your list is soooooooo true.

perfumelady · 25/11/2005 10:56

marymay, i have heard a lot of people have been turned down due to having a child of simular looks on there books, so that will be interesting to see i agree.

tinkerbellchelle, yes all what you said is correct, they also take some photos.

tinkerbellchelle · 25/11/2005 10:59

thank you perfume lady. I mean my little boy loves the camera and is fantastic with strangers so hopefully it should go ok. So we will just have to wait and see xx

perfumelady · 25/11/2005 11:07

yeah, you won't have to wait long, with the speed that christmas is coming, your be there before you know it.

hahahehe · 25/11/2005 11:13

Perfumelady: Have you any idea how many kids Urban have on their books??? also did they offer everyone they saw a place with them???

tigeryuan · 25/11/2005 11:27

Hello everyone!!!

My little boy is very fussy about what shoes & clothes he will wear. He got lots of shoes, but, he would only allow me to wear a particular pair.
Same as hats & jackets!!!! Most of the time, I've to force him to wear something new that I've just bought. And ofcourse that he would cry & refuse to co-operate!!! Anyway, once he get used to it(after 3-4 times), then, he would be happy with me to put them on!!!
Do you think it'll be a BIG problem on modelling? Any advise please?

perfumelady · 25/11/2005 11:46

hi hahahehe this is only what i've heard and not what i know, i heard that they had over 200 children at the half term shoot and less than half were offered contracts, but i'm not sure if that included the babies i only saw older children.

crunchie · 25/11/2005 11:46

Huge problem tbh. If he won't wear the clothes happily and be fussed about with that will defeat the object.

perfumelady · 25/11/2005 11:47

tigeryuan how old is he?

tigeryuan · 25/11/2005 11:56

he is 21 months old!!

2ManyPimms · 25/11/2005 11:56

Crunchie - thanks for that! However Enid would have done well in saying so herself. In not responding, it left her looking as though she was on to stir things up.

Enid · 25/11/2005 11:58

sorry

couldnt be bothered

thank god for crunchie

tinkerbellchelle · 25/11/2005 12:56

so do urban angels invite everyone to there shoot?
Sorry so many questions?
It sounds like a lot still get turned down even after going to shoot.... maybe it wont be worth our while... oh Im not sure I mean he had interest from every agency but 1 we applied to?
To the lady who's little one doesnt like clothes I think it would be a problem as it would make the whole shoot for the photographers etc very hard work.
Maybe try again in the future when he is more confident with new things xxxx

tigeryuan · 25/11/2005 13:14

tinkerbellchelle - they also invited us for the interview on Jan via email.

hope, he'll change in the future! its not just for modelling. you know what i mean!!!

tinkerbellchelle · 25/11/2005 13:17

Ah Im sure he will change.... I would think its probably just a phase.
Im just wondering if they invite everyone? As a lady said 200 went to the oct shoot and only half were accepted?
Im just wondering if everyone goes or if they choose ones they are interested in and then they go and pick from there? x

tigeryuan · 25/11/2005 13:23

you're right!! its the phase!!!
do you know that do we've to pay for the consultation with urban angle? sorry that if its already covered in the previous thread!
