Hahahehe - did you know that you were going to be waiting in a caravan for 4 hours? Just wondering as I am going to a shoot this week and have been told it will take no longer than 2 hours. Out of interest, which agency are you with?

tinkerbellchelle · 26/09/2005 16:22

I was gonna say maybe we could share which agencies we are with and recommend etc so we can all help each other.
Maybe if we share good and bad things we can help each other.

hahahehe · 26/09/2005 16:28

hi lilmisshappy,
We were booked for four hours and it was just sods law that they were running late! The company were very good though and bought us breakfast, teas, biscuits etc through out that time and kept apologising for the delay. Luckily my little one slept for a fair bit of it. BUT if i were you take some toys and a book for yourself!! I know that most companies don't want to keep you for any longer that they need to! Have fun on your shoot...apart from the wait we had a great time - my little one loved all the attention and was mesmarized by everything going on - it was lovely to watch and an experience he can say he has done!!

tinkerbellchelle · 26/09/2005 16:40

hahahehe just wondering which agency is your son with? x

cinders2 · 28/09/2005 00:17

Hi all, Just thought I'd ask, does any one know of any quality agencies who take babies from further a field (3 and a half hours) from London that is! Also recieved a contract for Models Direct, been putting them off as I wanted time to research them! I've spent hours at this computer checking every thing I could find on them and decided not to bother, by the way so pleased I didn't rush in to anything!!! Thanks all.

tinkerbellchelle · 28/09/2005 07:25

Cinders,
Im not sure but I think rascals take people from further away. I mean we are about an hour and a half from london, however Im sure in the past people have said that they take people from further afield.
Hope that helps and glad you didn't rush into anything with models direct they seem real con artists! x take care and let us know how it goes

cinders2 · 28/09/2005 17:42

tinkerbellchelle Thanks for the info will write and send photos tomorrow. Will keep you posted. Have sent a few off to bizzykids about a week ago along with a few others. Had a few rejections due to distance! Still waiting to hear from BizzyKids, but from fishing around they don't seem to be the type not to reply to enquiries. All the best to everyone out there looking into modelling for their children, but remember its a hobby! And should be fun for you and the child. And all the best to those of you who's children already model. Any Tips on this subject would be much appreciated. :O

ronniebaby · 28/09/2005 20:42

???? Can anyone give us the links to a few of these agencies as I cant find all of them, certainly cant find Urban angels.

It would be very useful.

cinders2 · 28/09/2005 22:04

ronniebaby, Urban angels web site is www.urbanangelsagency.com
hope this helps. Good Luck! let us know how it goes.

mykidsmum · 28/09/2005 22:13

Urban angles also accept children from outside London and are fabulous. the director is the only person you deal with and to me is like a firned i have known for years. good luck with any decision you make.

cinders2 · 29/09/2005 15:58

Mykidsmum,
Have tried Urban Angels but they are not taking anymore babies my daughters age at the moment due to 2 magazine articals and all the replies they have recieved. What a shame. Thanks anyway
Anyway a big thank you to
tinkerbellchelle, on recommending Rascals, emailed photos of J last night, and had a reply to take J in for an "assessment" this morning. Will call them tomorrow morning. Now I all I have to do is work out if its easier to Drive or go by train. Might look in to driving most of the way and then catching the train. What did you do? X

tinkerbellchelle · 29/09/2005 16:21

Ah cinders congrats!!
We drove to their offices there was ample parking we parked down the road and went to a little cafe near by first.
Let us know how it goes xx
how old is your daughter? Bless congrats again

perfumelady · 29/09/2005 17:06

just got mail asking us to go for a photo shoot in london for urban angels in oct, also been asked by rascals to attend a meeting does any one know if these two agencys are near to each other? thought i might try and do both on the same day as i have to come from southampton, if we came by train to waterloo could we get to them by cab rather than tube? does any one have experiance of urban angels i have heard of the name but that is about it. i know from the other threads that rascals are a good agency.

perfumelady · 29/09/2005 17:29

found this site thought anyone thinking about modelling for there children should take a look
www.albamodel.info

Alba is now recognised nationally and worldwide as the UK?s only independent modelling advice service to the public.

if you click on 'a list' it gives you all the names and address of all the recognised agencies in the country(you do have to down load the list)

mykidsmum · 29/09/2005 18:08

Hi perfumelady, just to let you know that as a mum with kids who model with urban Angels i have nothing but praise for the set up. My children have had lots of work and are due to be featured in many catalogues over christmas. At urban angles you receive a very personal yet professional service. If you haven't already check out their website www.urbanangelsagency.com

dancingtinky · 29/09/2005 22:38

Hi there! I have been reading this thread for a few weeks now and think its fab!!

I would love to get my dd into modelling as she is a natural in front of the camera and such a show off!

I have sent her piccies to a few agencies and had some interest. We have also had some 'turn downs' too though due to distance. One of these were rascals but was just wondering if we were fobbed off as they seem willing to assess people from further afield than us (were 1 1/2 hours away from london). Why can't agencies be honest with people and just say they're not interested??

cinders2 · 30/09/2005 16:16

Tinkerbellcelle, Just thought I'd say phoned Rascals today got assessment on Wednesday.
Still trying to work out if I'll drive or Fly! J is 9mths although she is about the size of a 6mth
Its quite a shock after 2 boys they were nearly double her size at 9mths. How old is yours?
So what happens at these assessments then? Would anyone be kind enough to say. All the best x

Willow2 · 30/09/2005 16:52

Hello, this all sounds very exciting but... one thing to consider is that a lot of clients seem to have castings to choose kids these days, rather than simply selecting from photographs - which means you will have to schlep into London for a five minute casting and then schlep all the way back. You will get about £15 for this - which probably won't cover your fare from Southampton - and there is no certainty that your child will get picked. It might be worth mentioning this to Rascals when you see them and see what they say. It might be a bit different for babies. Anyway, hope it all goes well.

tinkerbellchelle · 30/09/2005 17:39

In our interview they said they just wanted 2 meet reece 2 see what he looks like in real life not just pictures, also had a chat with us. The rate for a casting is £18 for us luckily it would only cost £7 2 travel so even if not picked reece woulkd still be making money for his account. We found the assesment also a time to get a feel for the office etc was it busy, see model book etc etc

hope all goes well. My little baby is only 3 months so a little tiddler bless him x

hahahehe · 30/09/2005 17:50

hiya,
not sure if its the same everywhere but we don't get paid anything for castings.....although the agency say '£16' its them that gets it not us!!

Willow2 · 30/09/2005 18:00

I think you are supposed to get it.

tinkerbellchelle · 01/10/2005 08:53

Yeah I really think its you thats meant to get that money. Which agency are you with?
We've been told by agency that its us that gets it? x

cinders2 · 01/10/2005 15:18

hi there, me again. Just wondering does anyone know anything about "Inspired Kids" agency? We had a reply this morning asking if we would make an appointment for an assessment. Any information greatfully recieved. Thanks all. X

tinkerbellchelle · 01/10/2005 15:37

I havent heard of them so cant help much in that sense however how about trying to do a search and seeing if there have been any discussions on that? Also how about trying google or something and see if there are any discussion on other websites? Hope that helps xx
