Just had a call from the solicitors and WE WON!!!!

Hoorah Hoorah - I am sooo happy.

There is a hearing on 2nd February to sort out all the arrangements for X2b to have contact with DD but other than that she is going to reside with me.

Thank you thank you for all of your help and support and all the lovely messages you have sent me.

Twinkie!! I am crying and can't stop! But we knew all along that you would win, didn't we?

So sorry I am late in finding out. Had to unplug computer Weds night to paint room. Couldn't wait to log on this morning to see if any news from you.

I really do know how you feel, mine is still so fresh in my mind, only 7 months ago.

All the champagne in the world can't make you feel like you will feel when DD walks in the door

This is the best, BEST news, thank you for sharing it with us every step of the way, I hope you realise this is inspirational for other people.

Have a wonderful weekend

LILLIBETIGOTYOU · 23/01/2004 09:26

Just yelled 'Oh Yay!' in front of very bemused colleagues! Oh who gives a shit!

Well done Twinkie! But it couldn't have gone any other way if there was ANY justice in the world.

All together now ... 'for she's a jolly good fellow'

Twinkie, that is fantastic news! I have been following your story but then have been offline for a few days, so was wondering what had happened.

All best wishes for a happy future with your DP and DD.

Thanks for all of your kind words everyone - I just want to say a big big thank you for all of your help through all of this - I think I would have walked unedr a bus ages ago if it was not for you lot.

I picked DD up on Friday morning and from that moment on she was mine to keep - he could have kept her until we went back to court for the directions hearing next week but I think he realised that it would be no good to any of us to drag it out. DD also needs to start school tomorrow so thought it best we do the handover straight away so she is all mine now and not only do I feel a lot happier but DD seems far happier too - also far naughtier for some reason!!

Once again thanks everyone - I am going to steal away later and print this whole thread out and keep it for DD to see when she is older.

Thank you all.

Brilliant news Twinkie. Glad you are all together at last.

Does DD start a new school tomorrow then? Wow - is she looking forward to it?

Take care!

Great news Twinkie! Glad DD is far happier too....

Hate to ask this - but should she see this thread when she is older ? I don't know all the ins and outs but I have recently been made aware of some nasty things from my parents' past (they are divorce) and I really resent the parent that is sharing this even though the accusations may be right.... However "bad" a parent is, it remains a parent to that child so showing how he lied and all..... might not make her happy..... I don't know - just my thoughts..... APOLOGIES if they are not appropriate.

aloha · 26/01/2004 10:02

Hi Twinkie, I bet she will be naughtier! She'll feel able to be because she will feel secure that this is her permanent home. I'm sure she will be happier. How did your ex2B take it? Has he been playing ball? Even though your dd will be much happier now I would guess she might still have a little adjusting to do though, esp starting school. Was she fond of her childminder etc? I'm sure you will handle it beautifully though if there is the odd wobble. It's so wonderful you are back together now.

doormat · 26/01/2004 10:09

Twinkie many many congratulations

you really deserve all the happiness in the world

eefs · 17/05/2004 20:08

this is a bit late but I was on maternity leave until now so I missed the big news.
Congrats! I'm so delighted for you twinkie - I hope the three of you are settled now - although I think i read earlier today that you are going to have a new addition to your family soon too - wow congrats, it doesn't get much better than this

After all you went through, you deserve all the happiness you get
love eefs
