As an offshoot of the Baby Modelling thread here is the new and improved thread for all questions you may have regarding agencies, the industry or just to relate general experiences. The last thread is hereby laid to rest - it was 5 YEARS OLD! Jeez!

If you want to DEBATE or CRITICISE go to the "Child Modelling - Debate" thread.

Tiger, i'm definately going to go to UA shoot. Ik said to have a think and they won't do anything for a cpl of weeks anyway. Kids London im thinking of as lots of things about them. Not going to go with Elisabeth Smith I have thought about them for so long but I have decided no. MOT and Bruce and Brown rejected us so don't have to think about them. Will take your advice and have a longer think this time!!!

tigeryuan · 27/01/2006 15:51

cyan - only joined MOT recently. so, i don't have much experience. i could only tell you their office is really nice.. the girls work there are pretty! they're very polite, profectional & friendly.

cyan · 27/01/2006 15:53

I didn't get to see dd's face (im sure she's beautiful!) because I was stressing but she looks like a little dot, just nestled in her buggy. When i fianlly found the agency, dan said to me he's big isn't he? i then took him our of his cosytoe and took his cardy off and he said maybe not! He was all swaddled in his cosytoe! Bless him. yes would be up for a coffee, most definately. we are free most of the time x

cyan · 27/01/2006 15:55

Tiger- someone I went to school with is signed to them, adult model obviously!

Good Luck all with the UA interview.. wish we could make it too. i think it'll be fun to see all mums & babies or dads.. like an open audition!!

tinkerbellchelle · 27/01/2006 16:07

Sorry can someone tell me more about the cost of inspired kids? Is it £100 or £150 either isnt a problem but just wondering what to expect. We are seeing UA the same weekend so will get a feel for boht and then see what happens.
For the £100 ( or £150 ) is that everything photos included etc and do you get to keep a copy.
Many thanks

ahh CYAN/IZZY - sounds like you had a lovely time!! I think having a good rapport with an agent is one of the key things for getting work. Don't think £100 odd for a photo session is that bad and looking at their pictures they are absolutely stunning.....much better than the likes of 'olan mills' who charge the same sort of money! PLUS they don't seem to have many children which is good for you!!
TINKABELLE.... I thought you were happy with BK???

cyan · 27/01/2006 16:40

Hi yackerty, i think their website is fabulous. and the kids are gorgeous, also at moment there are only 5 kids in 0-1 boys section. they said they kids london are a fantastic agency too. said alot of kids on their books are international and that if you're kids are accepted by them then they have a look most definately, i think thats very encouraging that an agency is pointing out positive things about another one as opposed to slamming them. yes you're right about rapport, when you signed with kids london, when did you first go and meet them? on our letter it says we dont have to go in just yet what happens next if you know what i mean?

yackertyyack · 27/01/2006 16:56

Cyan, we have not had to meet them yet...but we have only been with them 3 months! Think that they meet you when you go to the photosession for the book which is when they are 3! I have spoke to them on several occasions and they are lovely, but there is nothing nicer than going to have nose round the office....you get some idea of how they operate then!! I am happy with KL as I only got my son involved with the view that if he does any work then thats a bonus......I am lucky enough to have seen him in print so I don't really care if he doesn't do any thing else!!! He got a cheq through today which was lovely....into his account tomorrow!!!

7777777 · 27/01/2006 17:03

alliep30 · 27/01/2006 17:04

sh11 · 27/01/2006 17:18

izzy and cyan - glad to hear that you like IK I thought I was the only on e who had been and loved them.... but I am concerned about the fees, he never mentioned any fees and I did not ask. but he said he would use the pictures i have taken myself (I do photography as a hobby and graphic design)so maybe... waiting to hear from them about when DS will be on site. Will let you all know when to look.

cyan · 27/01/2006 17:20

sh11 did you go and see them before xmas? have you had any work from them, are you signed to them yet? how olds your ds again? are you going to see urban angels?

tinkerbellchelle · 27/01/2006 17:20

Hi yakkertyyak ( sorry if I spelt it wrong ) I am happy but when Urban Angels got in touch it made me wonder wether I rushed into it all excited cos when I decided not to sign with rascals BK were the first to say yes and rushed into it. So not even sure if changing yet just really seeing what options there are, and take it from there.
I was really impressed with IK website so out of curiosity tried them and they only have 5 babies 0-1 currently so that gave me the idea that they dont take on many and thought we would go and see.
We may still stay with BK we will jsut wait and see.
Off out for a chinese tonight yum yum ( treat after going to the gym LOL )

cyan · 27/01/2006 17:22

yackerty i think what you said is very true and you seem to have a v positive but realistic approach to it all. i just wished id waited but doesnt matter really as i got some lovely pictures from the experience with other agency.

cyan · 27/01/2006 17:24

Sonya, just to let you know that Tuesday's child have a good reputation. My children have worked with kids who are with Tuesdays child. what i will say is that much of the work is in london, so although the agency is in the north you won't necessary be going to castings etc up north. Ihave met mums from Wigan etc and sometimes wonder if it really is worth all the effort when travelling such a distance. My kids manage a 1 hour journey okay into london, but not sure they could deal with much more, would probably be shattered before they turned up for the job!! Good Luck x
