Tea room 22- A Farmhouse kitchen, anyone for a cuppa?

Welcome to the 22nd incarnation of the tea room. This time we are watching for spring from a cosy farmhouse kitchen. There is an aga for baking virtual cakes and an inglenook with toasty fire and settles to rest weary bones on. The distressed chintz sofa and footstool have arrived safe and sound and the priest hole is around here somewhere. On the Window sill is an aspidistra its pot surrounded by a hand holding circle of nearly naked mohawk babies, they have placards and a brazier.

Outside in the surrounding fields can be found the tea room horses, Earl and Lady Grey, also a herd of bison AND a Ha Ha to keep the bishops from invading.

Usual rules apply, no fisticuffs, if you want an argument go else where. Mellors the butler / game keeper will supply all sorts of things on request. Welcome Mums of one, none or many to the tea room of requirement.

I guess you just picked your home work for tonight JM. what DO deer feeders contain? a short sentence answer will be sufficient.

I'm hoping half term will help. Aduvet day might also help, but I'm bit busy with paid work next week, so thats not likely to happen.

Norman glad you're still here and weren't just sucking up to us for a vote Grin

oxeye · 10/02/2011 22:32

We too are limping towards half term bed time histrionics only ended because I shut oxblokes finger in Door and his swearing and shouting drowned oxboy!

NormanTheForeman · 10/02/2011 22:35

Well, I did say I'd pop in when I could, although the last couple of days have been incredibly busy what with canvassing and all.....

Donki · 10/02/2011 23:53

I expect deer eat hay JM - and I can tell you now that they can keep their munchers off my haypile!

(In real life, they used to eat my Gran's roses. Drove her up the wall, they did!)

::tries to remove image of yesterday evening's conversational topic from her brain, without success Shock ::

Morning all!

Oxeye, I was up there to do an assessment of their accessibility and to talk to a variety of Peers etc (and indeed the Speaker and his good lady wife) about autism. All very interesting. Especially the bit where I nearly got arrested for Not Being A Peer and Being At the Wrong Entrance Without Authority, and indeed the bit where the House of Lords team engaged me in a box-hunting expedition, thinking I was a member of staff.

My life is never dull.

::hands out drinks to those in need::

My goodness what a conversation I missed last night while I was working! The depravity!

Farmhouse in the Rockies sounds lovely. Let me get my longjohns...

amber what an interesting life you lead! Is box-hunting some sort of English thing I don't understand or were you actually looking for a box?

Lots more work to do this morning while trying to keep an eye on LCT. I hate working when he's around, it's so unfair to him and the work, but the client insists these videos from last night be processed and on the web within in 24 hours. So work I shall!

Laters!

Scout19075 · 11/02/2011 08:58

When do we find out if we get a cup?

amberlight · 11/02/2011 09:51

We were looking for a box. I don't know why. We found it Grin

NormanTheForeman · 11/02/2011 09:53

scout, the voting certainly went the way of cups. I checked in just after midnight and the yesses definitely won the vote. But there has been no official confirmation from MNHQ yet, nor any sign of an actual cup emoticon.

amberlight · 11/02/2011 10:08

The bear emoticon's gone! Why's the bear gone?? Oh my!

NormanTheForeman · 11/02/2011 10:10

Do you mean the Bear?

amberlight · 11/02/2011 10:48

Yes, it's not showing on the list any more, though it must sort of be there??

MaryBS · 11/02/2011 11:44

[cuppa]

MaryBS · 11/02/2011 11:45

Oy its supposed to BE there! [cuppa]

MaryBS · 11/02/2011 11:47

oops misread this where they ask what we would like it to be called...

MaryBS · 11/02/2011 13:46

Perhaps they think either you should leave decorating to the men Hmm or should employ a decorator Hmm. Or you're just not making enough of an effort to impress them Hmm

:o

Ignore them, they're not worth it, whatever the reason!

Scout19075 · 11/02/2011 13:49

But, but, they were painted AT the toddler group. By a very eager and excited BabyScout who was having oodles of fun painting at a "big boy easel" with his way-too-big paint smock on. We both walked away in paint (he on his hands, me on my hands and clothes). To me it was a sign that he really enjoyed the activity.

Oh well. I have a nice new piece of artwork for my refrigerator. Grin

teafortwo · 11/02/2011 14:18

ooooh - I luuuurve the new artwork on your jeans the fridge, Scout!!!!

Milk is going on holiday by herself this half term.... it is just sinking in what a BIG step this is for me!!!!

UniS · 11/02/2011 14:18

worry not scout. some mums just have no talent for sharing their toddlers fun. I always wore sweatshirts/ T and jeans to toddlers as I didn't mind getting painty/ play doughish or thoroughly glittery.

OP posts:
UniS · 11/02/2011 14:19

where is milk going?? Gandparents?

teafortwo · 11/02/2011 14:36

Yeeees, UniS - my MIL's place... she will have a blast for sure...

My best Mummy mate and I are forever covered in park mud. In central Paris this is frowned upon as Mummys should generally be glamourously hanging around admiring each others shoes while the nounous deal with the children.

teafortwo · 11/02/2011 14:39

Last night Milk and I had a super time playing this and I thought it might just tickle a few other tearoom children too....
