Tea room 22- A Farmhouse kitchen, anyone for a cuppa?

Welcome to the 22nd incarnation of the tea room. This time we are watching for spring from a cosy farmhouse kitchen. There is an aga for baking virtual cakes and an inglenook with toasty fire and settles to rest weary bones on. The distressed chintz sofa and footstool have arrived safe and sound and the priest hole is around here somewhere. On the Window sill is an aspidistra its pot surrounded by a hand holding circle of nearly naked mohawk babies, they have placards and a brazier.

Outside in the surrounding fields can be found the tea room horses, Earl and Lady Grey, also a herd of bison AND a Ha Ha to keep the bishops from invading.

Usual rules apply, no fisticuffs, if you want an argument go else where. Mellors the butler / game keeper will supply all sorts of things on request. Welcome Mums of one, none or many to the tea room of requirement.

Oh yes Unserpent come sit by me!!

We can sip g&t and watch the Brown Owls flying past in the gloaming

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 08/02/2011 22:45

Can I join too? I have more years' shouting experience than either of you.

::not proud::

NormanTheForeman · 08/02/2011 22:46

Stop press, for anyone interested in the cup emoticon. MNHQ have said they will design one tomorrow, but MNers will have to vote on it. I hope I can count on your support!

You know what they say. Vote early, vote often.

Scout19075 · 08/02/2011 22:53

Maud -- incoming again.

I shouted a bit today, too -- but more frustrated with myself than with BabyScout that he didn't understand what I was telling him not to do. Blush

BabyScout kept "walking into empty space" at Guides tonight (instead of walking towards the toy/person/grab hold). Even in just socks (he flung a shoe today and I couldn't find it before we left) and slightly too long dungerees he was incredibly steady for not flinging himself. Could walking (finally?) be close?

purpleknittingmum · 08/02/2011 22:56

stamps feet!

Don't want a cup of tea emoticon! Don't drink wine or tea or coffee!!

A bar of chocolate one?! :)

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 08/02/2011 22:57

Start a campaign, PKM! Look what it did for Norman!

Scout19075 · 08/02/2011 22:58

ooooo, chocolate.....

purpleknittingmum · 08/02/2011 22:58

Oooo, I am new here and shy deep down!!

NormanTheForeman · 08/02/2011 23:01

Lol,it hasn't quite done it yet, Maud....

But I thought it worth mentioning in a tea room.....

Actually, do you like hot chocolate PKM? The cup could be useful for that.....

purpleknittingmum · 08/02/2011 23:03

Oh yes, I do like hot chocolate actually.....s'pose I could pretend it is a cup of that!

I shall sit on the bad mums bench too!

NormanTheForeman · 08/02/2011 23:04

Grin Excellent!

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 08/02/2011 23:05

Yes, Norman, but we're at least going to have a referendum. MN People Power!

NormanTheForeman · 08/02/2011 23:08

Well, I think that's all to the good! Anyway, I must go to bed soon, as I will have a busy day tomorrow. Hope to see you in the morning!

Scout19075 · 08/02/2011 23:13

Good night everyone!

Donki · 08/02/2011 23:43

Just popped in to say goodnight on my way to bed.

Hope you are all well.

I have to confess to shouting at the Young Donk sometimes too... perhaps I should join you in the bad mummy corner.

Jacksmama · 09/02/2011 01:05

Could someone on here (Norman?) do a link to the vote on the Tea Cup tomorrow, please - otherwise I will miss it. Thank you.

Just read back a bit and had to laugh out loud at LaVie saying that Uma Thurman looks like a goldfish!! :o

Ok, I guess I've climbed out of the priest hole.

NormanTheForeman · 09/02/2011 08:05

Yes, hopefully I'll be able to do that Jacksmama. I don't know yet when we will be able to start voting, so will have to wait for MNHQ to get in touch, but I should be around a fair bit today and will let you all know ASAP.

Tee2072 · 09/02/2011 08:26

Ooh, a referendum! I haven't voted in one of those since I moved from California! I wonder what the other options will be...

I won't be around today as off to client site while LCT is at daycare. I'll be meeting with people I don't like but who pay me, so how bad can it be? [very bad emoticon] Grin

So...the Priest's Hole is an actual hole in the ground? I thought they were normally hidden behind bookcases...

amberlight · 09/02/2011 08:42

The Priest Hole is accessed via a trap door and leads into a luxurious suite including jacuzzi, spare massage table and bar, if I recall correctly. This is of course the tea room of requirement, and therefore even the smallest of spaces can be furnished with great luxury Grin

A vote on a tea cup? Remarkable! I shall do my best, though today I shall be whizzing over to a splendid lady to talk about wigs. I quite fancy a nice purple mohican, but I am assured by my staff that they would disown me Biscuit

Scout19075 · 09/02/2011 08:59

Think I'm being sensitive but this was the first sentence/"headline" of my weekly Bounty newsletter that comes via email every Wednesday: From planning a family to living with one, Bounty gives you the support you need to keep everything running smoothly. We'll be with you every step of the way. Here's what you need to know this week...

"From plannng a family to living with one...." Is it me or does it imply my wonderful BabyScout, MrScout and I do not form a family? I think I'm being sensitive.

Need a strong something I thnk.

amberlight · 09/02/2011 09:01

I think they mean "living with a (one) family" rather than "living with one child" but that's very unclear wording, yes.

Scout19075 · 09/02/2011 09:05

Ahh, I see what you mean Amber. I so totally didn't read it that way.

mistlethrush · 09/02/2011 11:35

Need a (sorry I've been away and missed a lot) emoticon too....

No doubt I'll catch up.

Eventually

In the meantime, anyone for a cuppa and a scone (fresh from the aga of course)

Have been 'coping' with effectively being a single parent family most of the time (I don't know how people do it permanently - really take my hat off to them) and lots of work - and mistlechick has only just started settling down in school this school year (please, please, please don't let this be something that happens EVERY time he moves year)

And can the bad shouty mums please budge up a bit because I need to come and join you. Blush
