The One-Child Tea Room, version 21... the Hawaiian Islands. Cocktails, anyone?

Welcome everyone to the 21st (!!!) One-Child Tea Room. Not to be misleading, we do have inhabitants who have or are planning more than one! Everyone is welcome.

The usual rules apply: no fisticuffs, or you will be escorted out by Mellors the Hunky Gardener. Depending on your preference, he looks variously like Daniel Craig, George Clooney, David Boreanaz, Gerard Depardieu... I have a feeling we all see something different but whatever we see makes us drool! And considering that this Tea Room is in the Hawaiian Islands, whoever we see is definitely shirtless! :o

Cocktails, non-alcoholic beverages, yummy food that is entirely without fattening effects, and lewd rolls abound in the Tea Room. There is also a full cappucino bar.

This is essentially A Tea Room of Requirement, and we're currently on the lovely sandy beaches of Maui, with beach huts, lounge chairs, cabanas, mango and papaya trees, and of course, lots of coffee directly from Kona.

Pop on in and stay a while. We may all seem a bit mad eccentric but we're very friendly!

Oooh! I got a big gift wrapped sack of carrots!

Thankyou Mellors!

DontCallMeBaby · 03/01/2011 21:48

Lakeland have a pineapple cutter? I rarely buy whole pineapples, but it's because I hate preparing the bastards. I really love them but they are SUCH a faff.

Mellors has given me Davidoff Cool Water, because unlike me he recognises that new and novel is overrated in the field of scents, and that I really just want to go back to the old and familiar. Ahhh.

teafortwo · 03/01/2011 21:49

Envy at scout!

Scout19075 · 03/01/2011 21:50

What, tea?

Donki · 03/01/2011 21:51

Not a film, but Trumpton, Camberwick Green and Chigley are fairly harmless...
Ivor the Engine?

DS loved them when he was younger (and still likes them for 'comfort watching' when ill)

teafortwo · 03/01/2011 21:51

Oh yes - cool water - a dear friend of mine bought the mens version for every boyfriend she has had. Grin I think she uses it sort of as her stamp.

teafortwo · 03/01/2011 21:52

scoutshire!

teafortwo · 03/01/2011 21:52

it was an envy not being sick face!!! Grin

Scout19075 · 03/01/2011 21:53

Was thinking either envy at Scoutshire or sick at peanut butter.

So nice to be home after two weeks at InLawShire.

Poor BabyScout is struggling. I blame MrScout so he's dealing with it.

Tee2072 · 03/01/2011 21:58

DCMB Pineapple Cutter Grin

Scout, what brand of Peanut Butter? My mom is coming over from the US in a week. She's bringing me huge jars of paracetamol (so don't get the 'can only buy 32 at a time' rule), Grape-Nuts Cereal and Zip Lock bags. I do eat peanut butter, but like the Whole Earth brand from here.

Scout19075 · 03/01/2011 21:58

I want to go to bed, but that means walking past BabyScout's room where MrScout is trying to convince him it's bedtime (well past bedtime, in fact!) and it would upset the calm that's been reached (no sleeping yet, though).

UniS · 03/01/2011 21:59

I do rather like choc oranges. More than I like any smellys. Tho partial to body shop vanilla body butter.

I think I'm ready for school, I will see some of my friends from preschool in the playground.

Scout19075 · 03/01/2011 22:01

Ooohhh, we buy the 750 ct bottle of painrelievers, too. Grin Stocked up over Thanksgiving. Will eat Skippy or Jif but tend to buy Skippy. Don't like the peanut butter here much, so tends to be a treat for me. LIVED on peanut butter when I was nursing (BabyScout had undiagnosed silent reflux for months so was nursing constantly and I was perpetually hungry and unable to move from the sofa).

I have a nice collection of various size baggies from home, too. Grin The 2.5 gallon are great for packing clothes for camp.

teafortwo · 03/01/2011 22:02

I have something to make you giggle...

You know how we co-sleep???

Well... Milk woke up in the middle of the night and whacked Beer VERY hard on the arm.

It woke him up.

Beer: Why did you do that?

Milk: Daddy, I am sooooo fed up with you! Do you realise that every night you snore exactly like a PIG!

Beer: Hmmmmfffft (goes back to sleep and starts snoring again)

Milk: (Whacking him a second time) Hey stop it!!! Seriously - You really are snoring exactly, yes, exactly like a pig!

... I wonder how long until she asks to sleep in her own bed... Grin

teafortwo · 03/01/2011 22:03

Will Mr UniS be coming to school too...

teafortwo · 03/01/2011 22:03

????

Tee2072 · 03/01/2011 22:06

Scout I take at least 6 paracetamol a day for a chronic pain condition. I count the days until my mom's visits when I run out of a jar. Two large jars last me just about 6 months, about how long between her visits! Grin

In the meantime, I buy two packs every where I go that sells them. I usually come home with at least 64 (32 from Boots, 32 from Tesco Grin). So why is there a rule?!?!

UniS · 03/01/2011 22:10

UniP will not being doing school run tomorrow, he will be back at work.

Am rather partial to a PBJ butty, would you like one too Tee and scout? The tea room has grape jelly if you like? I prefer blackcurrent jam.

Scout19075 · 03/01/2011 22:10

Tee, next time I mention I'm going home (BabyScout & I might be going in the spring) remind me and I'll get you a bottle, too (can post it once back in the UK). We got one for my InLaws since there are four of them in the house and the one has regular migraines.

As for the rule, something to do with suicide rates, I think.

Quiet upstairs but afraid to go.....

teafortwo · 03/01/2011 22:17

Oooooh aaaarrrr - I am impressed!!!! I forced Beer to take the day off work and take me out to lunch after.

Have you got an 'if I cry' plan?

For Milk it was so much easier given that it is sunny in September (when she started school) so I hid behind my sunglasses!

teafortwo · 03/01/2011 22:18

Tee - I really am sorry to hear about your pain. Sad

UniS · 03/01/2011 22:39

If I cry plan ??? was that a question for me? Why on earth would I start blubing? hes only gonna be there 3 hours, its just like preschool but round teh corner and 10 minutes earlier.

In the unlikely event that I do blub... I think I'll nip into the shop and buy some chocolate.

Tee2072 · 03/01/2011 22:40

Thanks Scout, I'll be set for awhile after the 12th! But I'll keep you in mind!

And thank you Tea. I appreciate the sympathy. Having a nearly 30 pound, 33 inch 18.5 month old to haul around certainly doesn't help! I cheered when he learned to walk!

teafortwo · 03/01/2011 23:08

UniS - you are made from tuff stuff reeeer spec!!!!

For me it was a blub moment... first scan, night she was born, first steps, first day of school and school play all had me in floods!

Scout19075 · 03/01/2011 23:11

(Oooh, BabyScout.... go to sleep. You're sooooo tired!)
