The One-Child Tea Room, version 21... the Hawaiian Islands. Cocktails, anyone?

Welcome everyone to the 21st (!!!) One-Child Tea Room. Not to be misleading, we do have inhabitants who have or are planning more than one! Everyone is welcome.

The usual rules apply: no fisticuffs, or you will be escorted out by Mellors the Hunky Gardener. Depending on your preference, he looks variously like Daniel Craig, George Clooney, David Boreanaz, Gerard Depardieu... I have a feeling we all see something different but whatever we see makes us drool! And considering that this Tea Room is in the Hawaiian Islands, whoever we see is definitely shirtless! :o

Cocktails, non-alcoholic beverages, yummy food that is entirely without fattening effects, and lewd rolls abound in the Tea Room. There is also a full cappucino bar.

This is essentially A Tea Room of Requirement, and we're currently on the lovely sandy beaches of Maui, with beach huts, lounge chairs, cabanas, mango and papaya trees, and of course, lots of coffee directly from Kona.

Pop on in and stay a while. We may all seem a bit mad eccentric but we're very friendly!

Can we remain some place warm?

UnSerpentQuiCourt · 20/01/2011 20:53

Polytunnels are beautifully warm and one even has a giant paddling pool.

UniS · 20/01/2011 20:54

a purple cocktail I think, would be a nice addition to communion.

I'm liking the new tea room wheels. Do you think we will manage not to crash these ones? remember the sports car incident the other year? oNOt that one can get so far on a small tropical island like this .... But there is volcano isn;t there?

Amber- new tops= one is black with pink and green details and the other is duckegg blue green with a little pink detailing. Currently I am wearing jeans, a very old T-shirt and a sweatshirt that used to belong to a company I stopped working for 7 yrs ago... girly tops need a bit of working up to in my life.

Mealtime assistant work is going OK , have done 3 lunchtimes this week already. More detailintehotherplace than I wish to go into here.

Tomorrow year R parents have been invited to breakfast at school by the PTA. The current PTA seem to be very keen on food... reckon they are fatteningsoftening us up for something like an AGM.

UnSerpentQuiCourt · 20/01/2011 21:00

What a creative idea of the PTA.

Scout19075 · 20/01/2011 21:02

UniS, we must have gone to the same school - comfort over "fashion." I live in jeans, hoodies and fleece sweatshirts from Old Navy. I would feel guilty about not being more girlie if it weren't for the fact that I met MrScout at a Guide/Scout jamboree and he met me wearing cut-offs, hiking boots and a Girl Scout tee-shirt.

Scout19075 · 20/01/2011 21:06

Oh, and Techno, thanks for the tip! I'll go to town/to the store when I go to the doctor.

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 20/01/2011 21:12

But what were you wearing, Scout?

::boom boom again::

NorfolkNChance · 20/01/2011 21:13

Just the usual rubbish about how I am scarring DD for life by not having a sibling for her, pah sod them, is there another purple cocktail to hand?

Scout19075 · 20/01/2011 21:16

Hahaha! I see I am going to have to type more carefully.

::Passes NC a LARGE purple cocktail::

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 20/01/2011 21:17

::passes a cocktail to Norfolk and grabs another for herself::

Ho hum. Perhaps a brick in the handbag would help?

Tee2072 · 20/01/2011 21:20

GARRRRR. I love working for myself...if only I didn't need clients.

Did someone say cocktails?

UniS my fashion mantra, since having LCT, is clean covered and comfortable. My sister in law, whose oldest is nearly 11, says eventually I'll stop worrying about clean. Grin

Is it time for a new room already? But I just got here!

Scout19075 · 20/01/2011 21:20

::Passes Norfolk some of BabyScout's bricks for her handbag::

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 20/01/2011 21:23

I'm loving the fashion tips. Sadly, my fashion mantra is does my bum look big in this?

UniS · 20/01/2011 21:25

whereas I know my bum looks big, so I'll wear a pair of jeans large enough to cover it decently and let me move comfortably.

NorfolkNChance · 20/01/2011 21:27

hmmm liking this

NorfolkNChance · 20/01/2011 21:27

hmmm liking this

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 20/01/2011 21:29

Yes. I suppose what I'm actually trying to say is that my first concern is does this adequately cover the vast acres of wobbling middle-aged flesh?. I buy most of my clothes from manufacturers of marquees. Clean covered and comfortable just about sums it up.

amberlight · 20/01/2011 21:30

I know my bum looks big in whatever it is, but work on the principle that cuddly can be good Grin

Definitely not time for a new tea room yet, surely - we've nearly 200 posts to go!

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 20/01/2011 21:33

The word is Rubenesque, Amber. Or callipygous.

Scout19075 · 20/01/2011 21:48

Right now my mantra is: Will these trousers stay up?

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 20/01/2011 21:49

::Sends Scout a good belt::

Scout19075 · 20/01/2011 21:55

Think I should have gone for one size down in my jeans. Might also take up my friend's offer to get me something from NYC next month and ask her to get me a new pair of jeans (I love this style, they're comfy, they fit, but they're American).

Would anyone like pizza to go with all of the cocktails?

CMOTdibbler · 20/01/2011 21:58

::waves sleepily::

UniS · 20/01/2011 22:18

ummmpizza.
::unis drools slightly::

I have realised there is flaw in my brilliant plan to get boy to have school dinner tomorrow. Chose tomorrow because pizza is an option ( veggie) , was also planning on cooking pizza for tea... best pick a different tea.

oxeye · 20/01/2011 22:25
