The One-Child Tea Room, version 21... the Hawaiian Islands. Cocktails, anyone?

Welcome everyone to the 21st (!!!) One-Child Tea Room. Not to be misleading, we do have inhabitants who have or are planning more than one! Everyone is welcome.

The usual rules apply: no fisticuffs, or you will be escorted out by Mellors the Hunky Gardener. Depending on your preference, he looks variously like Daniel Craig, George Clooney, David Boreanaz, Gerard Depardieu... I have a feeling we all see something different but whatever we see makes us drool! And considering that this Tea Room is in the Hawaiian Islands, whoever we see is definitely shirtless! :o

Cocktails, non-alcoholic beverages, yummy food that is entirely without fattening effects, and lewd rolls abound in the Tea Room. There is also a full cappucino bar.

This is essentially A Tea Room of Requirement, and we're currently on the lovely sandy beaches of Maui, with beach huts, lounge chairs, cabanas, mango and papaya trees, and of course, lots of coffee directly from Kona.

Pop on in and stay a while. We may all seem a bit mad eccentric but we're very friendly!

Um, looks more like a stein, you did want a LOT of tea didn't you?

UniS · 19/01/2011 14:00

It looked more mug like in preview, HONEST.

amberlight · 19/01/2011 14:15

It does look like a mug, you're right!! Thanks!

Blimey, I do know how to have fun Hmm

thumbdabwitch · 19/01/2011 15:15

Have any of you seen the thread about Riven? She's asked SS to take her DD into care as she can't get any more respite for her (she only gets 6 hours a week) and she can't cope any more.

amberlight · 19/01/2011 15:38

The whole respite thing is a disaster for families and carers - it's almost impossible to get any, and it rarely matches what the family actually needs. Will see if my one remaining brain cell is able to locate the thread later...

MyrrhyBS · 19/01/2011 15:41

Riven's thread :(

thumbdabwitch · 19/01/2011 15:45

Oh Mary, what's up?

GOod job I got 2 spares, Donki still has one!

It's going viral as they say, Riven's story - all over Twitter, various journos have got interested, MNHQ are involved, everyone emailing Cameron, TV shows and trash-mags are being targeted as well - I really hope something good comes out of it. There are two facebook pages linked as well.

Apparently a SW has contacted Riven adn will be visiting her tomorrow to "see what they need", as they have done 4 times previously Hmm - let's hope this time they SPOT the problems!

amberlight · 19/01/2011 16:28

Have retweeted it.

Blimey, MyrrhBS, which brand new denom are we planning? Can it be one with a lot of tea drinking and duvets?

MyrrhyBS · 19/01/2011 16:34

As we're the only 2 members, then tea and duvets are fine.

I'm having problems at church, thumb, hence the new denomination...

amberlight · 19/01/2011 16:53

Just as long as I don't get to be Bishop of it! Chaos would result!

Tee2072 · 19/01/2011 17:07

If you retweet Riven's thread, please use #respiteforriven and/or #davespromise!!

Such a horrid situation.

Donki · 19/01/2011 20:42

Here you are! Buckets for thirsty souls in need of tea. That sovereign remedy for all ill - a veritable universal panacea!

I am very sorry to hear of Riven's situation - I will be thinking of her and her daughter.

Mary and Amber A new denomination? How exciting! Are Quakers allowed to visit? Do you have bells?

I am hoping that your tests turn out well Amber - it must be very worrying for you.

I'd better go and bury myself in the haypile and get on with work. If anyone sees me, shout at me!

Donki · 19/01/2011 20:43

Sorry, Emergency. The YD is very tired - and as a result very giddy and silly...

::Opens a bottle of Veuve Clicquot's legendary patience medicine::

Would anyone like to share?

Tee2072 · 19/01/2011 21:21

::eagerly holds out glass::

My mum leaves tomorrow. Love seeing her, sorry to see her go, happy to see her go, if that makes any sense!

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 19/01/2011 21:24

::sloshes La Veuve into Tee's glass::

I understand completely what you mean. Have you yet been introduced to the House Speciality - Twiglet Surprise?

::proffers plate, enticingly::

Scout19075 · 19/01/2011 21:30

(Have no internet for one day and miss loads....)

MyrrhyBS · 19/01/2011 21:32

Twiglet surprise? I've seen Mr Bean, no thanks.. Wink

Donki, Quakers are welcome, we have a quiet spot of the priest's hole for meditation. For those that prefer, we have bells, smells, candles and disco balls.

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 19/01/2011 21:33

::Joins Mary's church. It sounds fab.::

UniS · 19/01/2011 21:37

ohhhh mirror balls, count me in. I promise not to sing any Anglican hymns.

I have now painted teh skirting board of teh dining room, and teh radiator, just the 2nd coats AND teh door , frame, window sill and frame to do and then I will be finished HURRAH. I don't like the fiddly bits of decorating

UD UD UD UD unis hands round mugs of tea.CU and hangs onto one for herself.

UniS · 19/01/2011 22:56

I have just written in Boy's reading record book " have gone through this book with boy, he wants to know how many more wordless books he HAS to read, I think hes getting bored of them."
Wonder what response we shall get to that. Even by Biff Chip Kipper standards todays was dull.

MyrrhyBS · 20/01/2011 08:04

LOL @ Boy!

Breakfast is served, both for those above ground and those of us still in the priest's hole...

amberlight · 20/01/2011 09:35

Thanks! Smile

UniS · 20/01/2011 10:42

thanks, a new denominational breakfast. does one have to raise ones hands in thanks or will a quiet mutter suffice?

amberlight · 20/01/2011 10:57

I think our new leader better make that sort of decision... Any ideas, MyrrhBS? Smile

Here, spent a long time chatting with my GP who is the most wonderful person and has done so much to calm me down.

That calls for a cuppa. Anyone else?
