The One-Child Tea Room, version 21... the Hawaiian Islands. Cocktails, anyone?

Welcome everyone to the 21st (!!!) One-Child Tea Room. Not to be misleading, we do have inhabitants who have or are planning more than one! Everyone is welcome.

The usual rules apply: no fisticuffs, or you will be escorted out by Mellors the Hunky Gardener. Depending on your preference, he looks variously like Daniel Craig, George Clooney, David Boreanaz, Gerard Depardieu... I have a feeling we all see something different but whatever we see makes us drool! And considering that this Tea Room is in the Hawaiian Islands, whoever we see is definitely shirtless! :o

Cocktails, non-alcoholic beverages, yummy food that is entirely without fattening effects, and lewd rolls abound in the Tea Room. There is also a full cappucino bar.

This is essentially A Tea Room of Requirement, and we're currently on the lovely sandy beaches of Maui, with beach huts, lounge chairs, cabanas, mango and papaya trees, and of course, lots of coffee directly from Kona.

Pop on in and stay a while. We may all seem a bit mad eccentric but we're very friendly!

Hawaii???!!!! What, really? The real place, with the real volcanoes and telescopes and etc?

Scout19075 · 05/01/2011 17:55

Oh good, JM. I can get to Canada before Saturday so I can hide in your suitcase. I'll bring BabyScout along to entertain Jackbaby. I'll watch both boys so you and MrJM can enjoy the romantic side of Hawaii. All in exchange for a trip to see the telescopes (was supposed to see them when I went in the 90s but that part of the trip got cancelled at the last minute [cat's bum face]).

asmallbunchofflowers · 05/01/2011 18:08

I so want to go to Hawaii. I could take my ukulele.

Tee - You may have picked up that this is the Tea Room of Requirement. That means we never run out of cake, chocolate, hot drinks, Bolly or (now we're in Hawaii) pina colada. There's also a never-ending buffet of other treats.

Would you like a hot chocolate with that, with extra cream and a flake?

Scout19075 · 05/01/2011 18:11

small, I'm sure JM has a suitcase of requirement that will hold me, BabyScout and you (and, of course, your ukulele).

asmallbunchofflowers · 05/01/2011 18:15

Yes, Scout, but first we have to get ourselves and the ukulele to Canada! But I liiiike Canada.

Scout19075 · 05/01/2011 18:17

Have passport, will travel! I can get to Heathrow in under two hours....

Jacksmama · 05/01/2011 18:34

No worries - when we get to Maui, I will simply point my wand and shout "Accio anyone in the Tea Room who wants to be in Hawaii" and you'll all magically appear!
(That would be so fab.)

That should be
ACCIO anyone in the TR who wants to be in Hawaii!

wonders in with a lei round her neck and a ukulele under her left arm, the right arm is occupied clutching a very large pina colada.

what IS in a pina colada anyway??

One very squidgy choc cake chunck coming at ya Tee. Pb = lead, ver apt for the way most toddlers appear to be soooo much heavier than they look after you have carried them half way home.

Boy was tired enough after his morning at school to go to bed this afternoon and sleep for an hour and a bit. AND in a much better mood this afternoon for it too. Having to wake him up at 7.30am is losing him 2 hours sleep a day... doesn't bode well for next week when he's full time.

Tee2072 · 05/01/2011 19:15

Thanks for the cake all.

LowerCaseTee napped for a whopping 25 minutes at daycare today. He practically fell asleep face first into his dinner. And is, hopefully, down for the night!

I actually know someone in real life who plays the ukulele. Should I add small to the list of ukulele players I know?

asmallbunchofflowers · 05/01/2011 19:24

Tee - I got my ukulele for Christmas but haven't really started to do anything with it yet as I'm waiting for a time when SmallBloke and SmallGirl are out of the house and I have some privacy to hide the no doubt hideous twanging. I have mastered only one chord so far, so it may be a while before I'm invited to join the Ukulele Orchestra of GB, which is a longstanding ambition of mine.

Tee2072 · 05/01/2011 19:28

A good friend of mine in the states has been playing for about a year. I haven't actually heard her play yet, but she says she's very good. Grin

asmallbunchofflowers · 05/01/2011 19:35

I have been told (and fervently hope) that the ukulele can be mastered very quickly.

Scout19075 · 05/01/2011 19:41

(YAY my YouTube is working properly again!)

UnSerpentQuiCourt · 05/01/2011 19:41

First day back at work, have taught RE to 126 children (but not all in the same room at the same time). Bit of a shock when asking year 6 if there was anything they could remember about what Christians believe that Jesus taught - apparently only the phrase 'Worship no gods except me.' Hmm PracticallyImp, what was the stem of the words muslim and islam? Seemed like such a good idea and now have forgotten it. (A bit like y6 really.)

Discovered when I got home that DH and Wriggle had discovered the Amazon parcel I had ordered for DH's birthday next month, had raided it and were busy watching it. (It was the Complete Charlie and Lola, but I know that he wanted it. Hmm It has now officially become another of Wriggle's xmas presents and I need to think of something new for DH.

asmallbunchofflowers · 05/01/2011 20:02

Oh no, Serpent. I would be very absolutely exceedingly cross about that and would make SmallBloke sit on the naughty step.

Would anyone like some Bolly?

Scout19075 · 05/01/2011 20:20
asmallbunchofflowers · 05/01/2011 20:25

Oh, Scout, I love you and it. How come I've never seen that before? Ukulele bliss with my favourite leading man.

Scout19075 · 05/01/2011 20:34

Oh good. Glad it was a hit (bit worried after I posted it).

asmallbunchofflowers · 05/01/2011 20:38

It was more than a hit. I adore it. Ms Piggy has been my role model ever since I was about 14.
