Tea Room the Nineteenth

All in need of a restful break and a chat are more than welcome to the nineteenth Tea Room.

We find ourselves in the South of France, where the warm sunshine is just the thing for those who are missing the summer. The tea room has its aga and its distressed chintz sofa...and its potted plants. The usual fictional tea room inhabitants are here, as ever: Mellors, the gardener/handyperson with the handy ways with massage; the collection of tea room animals including the horses, camel, bison, guineapigs and sundry others; the Bishops and other faith leaders who joined us a while back and potter in for the occasional cuppa. It may not make sense, but that's not important. What matters is the lovely people here and the chance to just relax.

UniS opens teh door to teh tea room wardrobe for Scout, it was disguised so as not to scare some of us. In side you will find teh dress of your dreams, or trousers if that what you think will be better.

CRUMPETS, yes please, they are proper crumpets aren't they, not pikelets??

I'll start toasting duties immediately.

Scout19075 · 23/11/2010 19:12

We're (just) going to see Harry Potter (Mom pre-ordered tickets for MrScout and I as a present) and possibly the bookstore. Very excited.

BabyScout is happily snoozing and I'm watching cheesie US daytime television.

asmallbunchofflowers · 23/11/2010 20:11

Wahay! Date night. We had one on Sunday and now (thanks to a sleepover invitation) will have another in a fortnight. I now fervently believe that date nights are Essential to Sanity.

Bolly, anyone?

asmallbunchofflowers · 23/11/2010 21:19
Donki · 23/11/2010 21:32

Excuse me if I don't join in with the drinking Smallbunch, I don't think it would help me work. But I thought I would at least keep you company....

Have a carrot?

asmallbunchofflowers · 23/11/2010 21:33

Canapes! Thank you, Donki.

What's your work for tonight?

MaryBS · 23/11/2010 21:37
asmallbunchofflowers · 23/11/2010 21:38

Hello, Mary. Are you feeling any better?

Have a Bolly and a carrot canape.

UniS · 23/11/2010 21:50

Carrot canapé , fantastic, healthy AND crunchy.

Boy is looking a bbit less rancid now, teh antibiotic cream does seem to be working. Its been a LONNNNNNG week, hes not been at preschool since this time last week. Fingers Xed he will be fit to go to school on Friday for settle in morning.

May I offer you a bowl of twiglets to go with teh carrots, continuing this evenings crunchy theme, but slightly less healthy.

asmallbunchofflowers · 23/11/2010 22:05

Poor Boy, being described as rancid. Would he like a (virtual) twiglet?

thumbwitch · 23/11/2010 22:11

hurrah that uniboy is getting better!

And Mary too!

Carrot and twiglet surprise seems tio have just appeared on the table - hoow exciting!

Donki and amber - all work should be suspended while drinking in the tearoom, especially as Small appears to ber about to start up the music - I spy her limbering up to throw some serious shapes

UniS · 23/11/2010 22:12

ummmm, beer. bollys OK, but beer is my prefered.

he not a rancid child really, he just looked VERY unappealing yesterday, face all covered in spots and sores. Today was improved, but with added snot, as I took him out for a long walk and he let his nose run and run.

Dime bar to follow the carrots and twiglets??

asmallbunchofflowers · 23/11/2010 22:14

Well, as it happens, Thumb, I was pondering returning to .

thumbwitch · 23/11/2010 22:24

Very good Small - nice of one of the bishops to lend you their crozier to dance with!

I never really got into Dime bars - but I'll throw a few Fry's Turkish Delights around for good measure.

asmallbunchofflowers · 23/11/2010 22:33

I'll lob in a few Crunchies for good measure.

Oh, UniS, you do paint a wonderful picture of Boy, bless him. And, Thumb, about the bishops. Who do you think taught me to tap dance in the first place?

thumbwitch · 23/11/2010 22:40

this must have been them before they became bishops then - fabulous! Grin

UniS · 23/11/2010 22:41

Yep, sorry small. Normally he's a fairly attractive looking chap . ( unis realises she may be a deluded mother on this point) Short straight blonde hair, blue eyes, round face but pointy chin, ears not to sticky out etc. Would make a passable milky bar kid if you put glasses on him.

I'm wondering if I still have a pic of him on my profile?

UniS · 23/11/2010 22:49

[hangry] :) [hsad] [hangry] :) [hsad] [hangry] :) [hsad]

wondering if jack o lanterns still work.

OK, should be there for a day or two before I delete them.

pics that is, not lanterns.

MaryBS · 23/11/2010 22:57

Not really feeling better, but have spent the day in relative quiet, pottering around doing jobs but also being gentle on myself.

SO sorry am not up to what is going on around me, apart from drinking(!). Focussing on several things at once is always difficult for me anyway.

I hurt and am sad. My friend and I are at odds, and if I give in, it can be fixed, I think. But should I give in, given that I don't feel I am in the wrong? If one of us makes the gesture, we can work towards fixing. But I am hurt, and broken, and too much else is going wrong that I don't know if I can risk rejection.

I've been drinking slightly (3 glasses of wine, so 1 more than is sensible).

asmallbunchofflowers · 23/11/2010 22:59

Oh UniS, he's scrumptious.

I dare not think what search terms Thumb used to unearth that photo!

UniS · 23/11/2010 23:00

MAry- do nothing about it tonight, go to bed and sleep.

sweet dreams.

asmallbunchofflowers · 23/11/2010 23:03

Oh Mary. I don't know what to suggest about your friend. Is s/he (at any level) aware of being in the wrong? Are you being manipulated into apologising when you have nothing to apologise for? It's so tricky.

Would one of Mellors' legendary massages help now?

MaryBS · 23/11/2010 23:16
MellorsYourGardener · 23/11/2010 23:38

Mary - Shall we go down to the priest's hole? The massage table is in there.
