For me this sums up MNHQ treatment of autistic posters

I took this screenshot today of my two watched threads and I thought a good visual representation of the ableism autistic people face here.

one thread where non-autistic people get to spread misinformation about autism and another where the OP wanted to talk about ableism in general. Of course it ended up with two non-autistic people asking us over and over to justify ourselves.

one is on thread 6, the other has been deleted (they say hidden but it has been 24+ hours)

i feel so despondent. Knowing this is how society sees us just makes everything too much of a struggle. I’m an inconvenience. I don’t think enough about how non-autistic people are adversely impacted by me. I don’t matter.

being autistic is so fucking shit. We’re the blame-magnets of society. I want to shut my eyes and mind.

I think if someone has expressed on their thread that they feel really low and depressed and that kind of chat made it worse, and that your contributions on their thread also has made it worse, that the polite thing to do would be to leave the thread and let the OP have their space they need.

I agree, this thread is fucked and has been totally derailed from the original topic.

I had hoped for some intervention from @MNHQ following reports, but so far nothing 😡

I hope you can take comfort in the fact that the majority of the posters on this thread agree with you and the members who don't agree, their opinion isn't worth your headspace.

I am responding to their post that said I controlled the thread, missed the point and removed support. When that is not what I did. I should be able to reply to a post that says I have done something I haven’t.

As I have said multiple times, I don’t disagree that some of the things posted on those threads are awful. Nowhere have I said otherwise.

So no one’s allowed the right of reply to something incorrectly posted about them because the poster who posted it is in a dark place? Replying to something incorrectly posted about me doesn’t make me cruel or nasty.

@Legofigure you’ve made your points repeatedly. You cannot control how others see things, or you. You’ve had your ‘right of reply’ and now you just won’t fucking stop. I’ve been beyond polite about it but your constant need to do this when you’re upsetting the person who started the thread just makes your behaviour look fucking mean and nasty. you are breaking guidelines here, you know that right? You’re derailing and making it about you. And it’s not incorrect to say ‘ I think you’re rude’ THAT IS MY DAMN OPINION! You cannot control other peoples thoughts. What the hell don’t you get about that?

If I am breaking the guidelines by derailing the thread by replying to posts incorrectly posting things about me then those posters repeatedly posting the incorrect things in the first place are also breaking the guidelines by derailing the thread.

You didn’t say “I think you are rude” you said “you are being rude” which doesn’t say it is your opinion. But even if it was I can still reply I think your opinion is incorrect. I didn’t say I could control anyone’s thoughts!

Why would I want it deleted? I’m autistic myself with autistic DC, and have posted I agree some of things posted on those threads are awful.

There is also a clear lack of compassion as the OP posted how upset she was at how this thread has turned out, already being in a 'dark place' and now feeling worse, and you make it all about you. Again. And again. And again.

I am replying to others’ posts about me. That is not goading. If others don’t want me to reply to posts about me then they shouldn’t post things about me. My posts only became about me when others posted things about me.
