Polter. Bullet journal! Maybe? It's brilliant. Mine is basically a collection of my lists and brain farts. I've been using it for just over a year now. It does help. But I could be more consistent yeah... ADHD... consistent doesn't really happen

Howtoadhd on YouTube is awesome too. There was a video I was going to share here.... I'll look it up tomorrow.

Night all!

It's to mark the end of the Access course; we get a certificate from the college Hmm

bubblesbubbles · 05/07/2017 22:52

Certificates are always cool though! But can you get out of it if you feel too nervous?

autisticrat · 05/07/2017 22:55

Probably.

Going to Tesco in an hour, I get the urge to actually go into a supermarket now and then as I love looking at all food lmao, but only at like 1am Grin when there's no one around! My new sleep schedule didn't last long Blush

Polter · 06/07/2017 07:12

MrsN I looked at bullet journals but they're not for me. On an impulse late last night I ordered a load of inserts for my ancient Filofax and I'm going to have a go with that again (assuming I can find it!).

FaithAgain · 06/07/2017 07:47

bubbles I love wandering around the shops at random times! I used to like it after I'd worked a night shift about 7am. I bought random stuff though!

I have a billet journal but haven't really got into it.

BertieBotts · 06/07/2017 08:50

OMG, I used to be obsessed with filofaxes in the 90s Grin They had these kids ones called Fun Faxes and I used to covet them. I must have had one or two, I can't remember though.

FaithAgain · 06/07/2017 09:03

I had a funfax! My Mum loved her Filofax Grin Got a new one every year and updated one to the other. She was the most organised person I've ever known.

Polter · 06/07/2017 10:15

I think one of my much younger siblings had a Funfax Grin

Polter · 06/07/2017 10:21

I have found my Filofax. It's a bit shabby and has ancient surfing stickers on it even though I've never been a surfer! It will do.

MrsNutella · 06/07/2017 10:57

I had a fun fax too! I'm not really sure what I used it for.

Love my bullet journal. It's the flexibility of it that I love. It's totally mine. I'm sure no one else would understand it!

Polter what don't you like about it? I'm deeply curious!
Are you going to put new stickers on your Filofax? I have seen Filofax here and oh my goodness they were expensive! Were they always so expensive?

Weaverofnonstorie · 06/07/2017 11:04

I loved fun fax but mine was as chaotic as I am. My car is still in the garage. It's been there since last Wednesday and they still don't know why it's broken. I'm terrified that it's going to cost a fortune and still not work.

Polter · 06/07/2017 11:20

MrsN Part of it is that it's a big popular cool thing to do and I always kick against that. Part of it is also because the ones I've seen examples of all look either really beautiful or super neat and I have atrocious handwriting, so mine would never look good so I wouldn't use it. The Filofax inserts aren't too expensive so I'll see how that goes. I might find a new sticker for the front...

MrsNutella · 06/07/2017 13:17

Weaver oh man! I can't believe that your car is still a mystery. I really hope that whatever the problem is it ends up being crazy simple. It must be so frustrating to be without.

Polter I think I started mine before it was super trendy because I'm a trendsetter if it helps I can post some photos of my scribblings Grin. Mine is not neat or pretty. It is a mess. It actually reflects my brain nicely.

I have in the past been told I have the writing of a mad person. Apparently because my handwriting style can be very inconsistent. But it's ok. The person that said that was a total knob. Their opinion was of little importance. The remark amused me, probably more than it was meant to Wink

MrsNutella · 06/07/2017 13:23
go on.... click it.... you know you want to!!
MrsNutella · 06/07/2017 13:24

Oh, and I started mine in march last year. I have proof!! So, I am ahead of the curve!!

BertieBotts · 06/07/2017 14:12

I don't like bullet journals either and I can't really explain why, but I also think it might be to do with them being a bit too neat for me. I do use lists but I don't see the point of all the little symbols, I would rather invent my own symbols at the time. Plus when I make lists I rehlarly insert things into random places, scribble them out, etc. What I do might be similar to a bullet journal already but I feel irrationally annoyed by them :o I don't think it's because it's popular in my case, I loved Konmari and that was popular, I suppose I just don't see the point of a bullet journal over other kinds of lists and notes so I don't see myself using it.

BertieBotts · 06/07/2017 14:13

They do say the best calendar is simply the one that you use. I find Google calendar plus various notebooks and apps work for me.

Polter · 06/07/2017 14:22

Can't click the video as am on a train.

I think I am still trying to find what works. It's perhaps harder these days as there are so many options and so many different ways we make arrangements/plans.

If I glue my phone to my Filofax I might have a chance at using it. And even though I use my phone for everything I cannot get on with the calendar stuff.

My handwriting is also very variable, not just on a neat to tidy continuum but the style varies dramatically. Hypermobility doesn't help.

I'd love to see your journal MrsN

riobruins · 06/07/2017 14:23

I can't do any type of diary or journal, I've tried multiple times but last three or four days then give up. Half the problem is I'm a terrible writer, so half the time I end up writing the wrong the letter or word but then I've ruined it and it's not right so I give up. The another half is if I can't see it or it's not right in front of me then I forget it exists. The best way for me is I have a slot in my wallet for appointment cards and I keep them there, I tend to remember them anyway but then I can just check easily to make sure I've got it right.

BertieBotts · 06/07/2017 14:33

My handwriting changes a lot too. It's very strange. I really envy people who have nice writing. Mine is occasionally neat but never beautiful and more often scrawly. And I think scrawl can be beautiful but mine isn't that kind of scrawl.

Polter · 06/07/2017 14:51

Mine can very occasionally be nice, but not beautiful.

bubblesbubbles · 06/07/2017 16:28

omg at all them jump shots in the video, even I (who scored maximum points on the adhd diagnosis) was like this is too adhd even for me! But I like the look of bullet journals
