Hi all

Have nothing short of a distraught 11 year old. Didn’t manage to get codes or tickets despite trying different ways. I’ve been keeping an eye on ticket master and axs for resale tickets but nothing seems to come up for two together. I’ve had a look at there are some silly price tickets on viagogo :( but I just feel awful that all her friends managed to get tickets and she is the only one without and is a huge fan. Are the tickets on viagogo likely to be genuine or could any be scam tickets? I’m not savvy with stuff like this so want some tips please if possible on where I can try my luck still and what to watch out for. Thank you :)

Someone more knowledgeable will be along.

Your likelihood is close to zero BUT stay away from either Facebook or viagogo, you'll pay a fortune and get scammed.

LizzieBennett73 · 19/05/2024 21:12

They are only authorised resales through Ticketmaster or AXS, don't buy elsewhere. I'm hoping that in the days before, people will end up selling them on as their plans change at short notice. I think it's still too early for resales.

isthesolution · 19/05/2024 21:15

I'm still hoping that the day before or the day of the show there may be people who can't go and sell on. There were in Paris - 2 tickets selling for €93 each through Viagogo on the afternoon of the event.

Lavender1974 · 19/05/2024 21:17

You might get lucky on Twickets nearer each concert date. I managed to get Olivia Rodrigo ones 2 days before concert last week at face value price. You have to be lightning quick though and keep refreshing the live stream. I did see some TS tickets come up for Edinburgh but they were gone in a flash.

Amx · 19/05/2024 21:18

Do not buy any from Facebook.

mitogoshi · 19/05/2024 21:22

Listen out for genuine local people with tickets they can't use very close to the date. I have got a take that ticket from a neighbour (or rather I'm going with my neighbour) because her sister needs to have an operation.

SellFridges · 19/05/2024 21:22

You need to keep a close eye on the official resale sites, I think both Ticketmaster and AXS have their own. Twickets is great as they only allow face value resale.

There’s a chance they’ll put extra production tickets on sale in the few days before the shows, so keep an eye on official sources there. I suspect you may still need a code though.

Lots of refreshing and make sure you have accounts set up with payment details saved. If it’s possible to pay via ApplePay, do that as it’s much faster and doesn’t need authenticating with your bank.

Thanks all really appreciate this. I feel so so guilty. I stupidly only pre registered for one event thinking that the system would be fair and didn’t want to take the piss pre registering for all the events but in hindsight that’s what I should have done. Wouldn’t be so bad if some of the friends weren’t going but they literally all are so it’s all she hears all day and it’s what she wants to do most in the world 😂 I’ve tried hyping up a home Taylor swift party with dominoes pizza and watching on the TV but we both know it’s not the same. Thanks and fingers crossed :)

Where are you looking for? I’m hoping to get 3 tickets for Edinburgh. We’re near by so I can hold my nerve and hope there’s a Paris type miracle.

Lovemylittlebear · 19/05/2024 21:35

Cardiff would be incredible but I would literally drop plans and take her to any venue in the UK if they weren’t silly price tickets. Expensive is fine but not the price they are on viagogo £500 per tickets works out as £1k which just seems insane x

I’m not actively looking because DD got the tickets she wanted in the presale. Both of us registered for every single venue in Europe and got quite a few codes. I landed on the waiting list for Paris and then forgot about it, because DD had tickets got her first-choice venue in the meantime. On the evening of the first concert there I then got two emails from Ticketmaster that there were a few last-min tickets now up for sale - one of the mails went out at 7.34 pm for an 8 pm concert, so you’d have to be actually outside the venue to make it on time. They obviously disappeared within minutes, but they were for sale at a very reasonable price (ie the normal selling price for a ticket near the back). But there were then no more mails about the remaining nights in Paris -just that first evening. I’m so sorry, I think the chances are low at this point. You need to be prepared to travel, and even then there would be the problem of finding accommodation. Perhaps you could arrange a fun mum’n’daughter evening with the tour video and snacks instead?

Lovemylittlebear · 19/05/2024 21:42

Oh that’s very lucky :) yes that’s exactly what I should have done in hindsight and have learnt my lesson. Watching her try not to cry when all her friends are excitedly talking about it has been a tough regular watch over the past few months….especially bless her as she is happy for everyone else and doesn’t want to put a dampener and anyone’s joy so is having to feign excitement for everyone else. Think it’s taking its toll today.

I’ve suggested she has her main group of friends round for a little get together, with pizza, nail painting and even a little Taylor present each and she’s tried to be excited for this but this evening the sadness came pouring out properly…

how would I know if the £500 tickets on viagogo are real? At this stage I’m half tempted to get out a sodding credit card for it x

Honestly you probably can't. If for any reason I couldn't attend I know at least three people who would take my arm off for a chance to buy my tickets, I wouldn't need to sell them via AXS.

She absolutely isn't the only person not going, don't feel too guilty.

Do NOT buy tickets from Facebook etc. Tickets are still not transferable so no-one can actually send you their tickets if you give them money. They will only become transferable much closer to the dates of the concerts so anyone offering to sell tickets now is taking money for a product they have no way of getting to you.

Lovemylittlebear · 19/05/2024 21:44

Thank you xx

Sorry, x-posted with you. I see she won’t be impressed with a pretend party, what a pity. Just so you know, registering for all the venues isn’t taking the piss, that’s just what you have to do. DD was prepared to travel anywhere within Europe, most real fans would do the same. She had a very complex Excel chart with all the different dates and times for pre-reg at each venue. It was brutal. She also got a few tickets for Edinburgh that she didn’t need and obviously sold them back to the central pool (ie the Ticketmaster waitlist) so a few resold tickets will have been dribbling out throughout the last few months - but you need to be prepared to go anywhere in Europe for that to be feasible.

LadyGreySpillsTheTea · 19/05/2024 21:47

The 500 quid tickets on viagogo are a rip-off at this stage! Please don’t.

Hereifyouneed · 19/05/2024 21:51

I know it's not the same and my two were gutted not to get tickets, but have you seen the tribute tour, Taylormania by Katy Ellis? She's doing loads of shows across the UK and is really good.

Lovemylittlebear · 19/05/2024 21:51

Yes that makes sense :) I’ve learnt for next time now. I’ve never been a mega fan of anything and quite happy go lucky with ticket type events etc so this has been a learning curve but at least I know for anything that crops up in the future! Appreciate the advice thank you x

Even then there's no guarantee you'd get a code. I had a midnights code but also registered for all the UK cities in case I didn't get any tickets in the midnights presale; I didn't get a code for any of them (but luckily got tickets in the presale). Two of my friends also registered for every UK city and neither got a single code. I managed to buy one of them two tickets, as I the midnights code allowed you to buy up to four tickets and I had only bought two, but my other friend missed out completely.

Please don't be tempted to buy non-official tickets, she would be so much more upset to think she is going and then being turned away at the door / for you to have to explain nothing has turned up even though you paid.

Lovemylittlebear · 19/05/2024 22:01

Yes that’s a very good point thank you. That would be awful. I think when it’s been and gone we will be alright again. It’s just been a big lead up x

albertoross · 19/05/2024 22:03

I think you just have to take it as a learning opportunity for her. A lot of people won't be going she's just unfortunate her friends are all loaded and managed to get tickets

Kendodd · 19/05/2024 22:09

Are the tickets on Viagogo all scams then?
If you buy them and they turn out not to be real, is that it, youve just lost all your money?

Fiddlersgreen · 19/05/2024 22:09

You’re best bet is only Ticketmaster/AXS/Twickets.
Keep checking ticketmaster and AXS resales, usually about a week before the event people will start listing their tickets if they can’t go but I’d check everyday as they usually release any unused production tickets a few weeks before.

CaptainCarrotsBigSword · 19/05/2024 22:10

You need to check multiple times a day, to be in with any chance.
