Hi all

Have nothing short of a distraught 11 year old. Didn’t manage to get codes or tickets despite trying different ways. I’ve been keeping an eye on ticket master and axs for resale tickets but nothing seems to come up for two together. I’ve had a look at there are some silly price tickets on viagogo :( but I just feel awful that all her friends managed to get tickets and she is the only one without and is a huge fan. Are the tickets on viagogo likely to be genuine or could any be scam tickets? I’m not savvy with stuff like this so want some tips please if possible on where I can try my luck still and what to watch out for. Thank you :)

Are the tickets on Viagogo all scams then?
If you buy them and they turn out not to be real, is that it, youve just lost all your money?

My friend has bought from viagogo before without issue (except more expensive!) but I have known of people being turned away as tickets were faked, think they were able to claim their money back but of course no concert and great disappointment and upset on the day

Lovemylittlebear · 19/05/2024 22:14

Thank you that’s all really helpful. I’ll check the official sites daily. I end up checking each individual show each time…is there an easier way to check all at once does anyone know as it takes a while to click on each? (I’m properly not savvy at this sort of thing 😂)

three just got really lucky and had tickets and one has bought resale I think. It is a learning opportunity that’s true. Just didn’t realise quite how much it had been affecting her as she’s a really nice child that’s very aware of other peoples feelings (including mine) so I think the sadness all came out this evening but I think it needed to and maybe that will help a little bit.

Be careful not to get standing ones if she is only 11, many venues don't allow standing under 14, (age can vary with venue)

Lovemylittlebear · 19/05/2024 22:27

That’s really useful to know, thank you ☺️

It may be worth seeing what's available in Europe as sometimes tickets do become available closer to the dates. One thing though is any city she is in, all hotels in that city will be at a premium. As tempting as it is please go through the legit channels to get tickets, unfortunately as her UK dates come we will definitely be hearing stories of people who will have been scammed out of £££s. Depending in the country where you are, but in anfield there is a park just behind the stadium called Stanley Park where you could probably hear the concert from but I know it's not really the same as seeing her in person.
Good luck, there have been some lucky people out there who did get tickets last minute.

Kendodd · 19/05/2024 22:36

to get last minute tickets, do you need to register in advance or anything, if so how?
i have the Ticketmaster Axa, Viagogo and Twickerts apps all on my phone already.

Lovemylittlebear · 19/05/2024 22:42

Ohhhh that’s such a great idea!!! I hadn’t thought of that. We could go to near the venue for an hour so that she can try and hear some of it. I’ll have to research where is near to Cardiff as I could get husband to drop us off for an hour or so - that’s a really good idea thank you x

Literally don’t buy them from anywhere except TM or AXS official resale. I have just been to Stockholm and the Ticket transfer only became available 24 hours in advance so I don’t think it’s possible to safely buy them from someone online with no guarantee they will transfer them in that 24 hour window.

Taylor-gating (i.e., listening and dancing outside) has been huge all through the tour. Have a look at videos on YouTube, there were some venues in the US that had literally thousands of fans outside, all dressed up and swapping bracelets and signing and dancing. It could be a really fun experience.

kitsuneghost · 19/05/2024 23:02

The reason they are £500 and the reason you struggle to get a normal price one is because people choose to buy them at that so touts buy en masse for resale.

By buying them you will contribute to this so no matter how desperate to see someone I was I will not fund this.

Register with tickets. It is a fan to fan site

SuuzeeeQ · 19/05/2024 23:04

There are reddit groups where fans are selling to others at face value, today someonr sold Edinburgh tickets (standing though so not allowed for your girl). Lots of people bought Paris tickets last minute and got in (also at viagogo). One woman bought her ticket when Paramore already played. Stockholm tickets this weekend were available last minute too and most at face value.

If you are committed on this, you need to read up how to spot scams, (pretty much all fb sites are scams) join the right fan forums/groups and make strategic choices that don’t cost you money eg I have booked a fully cancellable Hotel room for the venue and dates I am aiming for. So if I manage to get tickets last minute at least I don’t have to worry about accommodation. I am also going with my DD. I am fully convinced that I will get last minute tickets without paying crazy town prices.

and please be aware children under 14 are only allowed in seated areas in most venues.

People can transfer their TM accounts.

@Lovemylittlebear is there a box park in Cardiff. I saw the one in Liverpool will have a fan park and be doing activities.

I don't think this is the case for the Eras tour. There was no way to buy more than four tickets per code and you had to have a code to get tickets. Obviously you'll have some people buying more than they need and hoping to resell at profit (I was tempted!) but all these code restrictions were put in place to stop touts buying tens / hundreds of tickets for resale. And then you add in the non-transferable until the very last minute decision, and they are doing what they can to prevent hugely inflated resales. I think it's more scammers for this one - people taking the money but never sending tickets (because they aren't transferable?).

Also, a lot of the tickets were very expensive anyway! I managed to get tickets for DD and I at £150 each, there weren't many cheaper than that to be had.

Lovemylittlebear · 20/05/2024 08:33

Wow these are really helpful suggestions thank you. Will look into Taylor gating, whether there is a box park, also will look at venues and refundable hotels. Thank you very grateful for everyone’s suggestions :)

I was shocked to see the face value prices. Someone (I think genuine!) offered me fb for Wembley as he is going abroad and they were £600 each. She is a billionaire, merch is ££, VIP tickets are sold with merch packages worth £30 (posters, lanyard, postcards and a tote- come on!) and at inflated prices. Plus constant new releases of rhe same album with one bonus track.

I do like her music, I want to get tickets for my DD but I do find it all a bit greedy!

MothralovesGojira · 20/05/2024 09:31

@Lovemylittlebear
Whatever you do DO NOT BUY FROM VIAGOGO!
If you do you are at a huge risk of being turned away at the door. TM and AXS are both going over to rotating QR tickets which are released on to your app account a few hours before. I saw this happen at a gig last year and the ticket 'holders' were devastated and embarrassed at having to be escorted off the premises because they had Viagogo tickets.
It's a lesson learned. I am registered with all official ticket sellers TM, AXS, Gigs&Tours, Cuffe & Taylor, Live Nation, SEE Tickets etc so I get alerts for new tours/gigs most days (although that can be annoying) so can register for early access. It's even better when I'm entered for early access automatically as I'm a very good customer! It's rare that I fail to get tickets. Also registering with the artist is also good for preferential access.
Mean while keep checking the official resale sites and you may get lucky. People get ill or suddenly can't make it so tickets do go on really late. Check several times a day, every day. Good luck - I hope that you find some.

SummaLuvin · 20/05/2024 10:06

To echo other people don’t buy from Facebook and don’t buy from viagogo or even twickets. There’s a very high chance they are scams. Transfer is not yet available for TM. Even if they are real, in the T&C it states only official resale of AXS and TM can be used and tickets found to be sold on other platforms may be cancelled. Whether that actually happens remains to be seen, but it might. It’s better to have an 11yo crying that they can’t go, than to be turned away at the gates after thinking they were going.

Check resale obsessively, keep refreshing, people have gotten tickets this way, and they are capped to around max 15% increase on original purchase price so you won’t be ripped off.

Your only other option is to make sure everyone - friends, family, colleagues - knows you want tickets so if they have them and at the last minute can’t make it, you are their first reserve. I would caveat this by saying you have to trust them and that their tickets are real!! Friends of friends, or colleagues sister in law wouldn’t cut it for me.

autumn1610 · 20/05/2024 10:25

for taylor I wouldn’t bother on Viagogo I know someone who is selling one and she put on she has to meet the person at the venue as she is lead booker. I would be very very careful and only do through valid channels. I think the concerts for Taylor are really strict on resale. I went to see foo fighters a few years back and people were being turned away as the tickets weren’t transferred through ticketmaster or twickets.

Lots going on in Liverpool, should be a fun day out even if you don’t get tickets.
btw someone offered me real seated tickets for Liverpool but was too expensive for me (£800 each). So tickets are out there but £££. You will struggle to get some for face value and even fv is quite high!

Taylor Swift: Liverpool to become 'Taylor Town' for Eras tour

The city will "go all-out with a welcome for Taylor Swift and the Swifties", a councillor says.

Lovethistimeofyear · 23/05/2024 21:29

There were two resale on AXS tonight for Edinburgh and I got through to purchase them - £1600 for two.

DH and I had some words about the price so I let them go.

I’ve not been blocked by AXS as a bloody bot!!

DD is desperate to go. So am I! She’s a huge swiftie yet her friends have tickets and don’t even love her

Isitchill · 24/05/2024 07:11

love I've been dipping in and out of AXS and was blocked as a bot too by yesterday evening. How poor is AXS to not be able to cope with fans checking multiple times a day?!

I saw the £800 Edinburgh tickets too. (No intention of doing that!).

Upsidedownlife · 24/05/2024 07:19

I’ve also been blocked by AXS as a bot!!

im really surprised so many of your DD’s friends got tickets - my 17 year old and her friends are all Taylor obsessed for years, since they were your daughter’s age and I know loads who haven’t got tickets even with all the codes! I bought the album on vinyl nearly a year before ticket sales came out and got the registered fan code plus registered for all the additional codes on pre sale and I could only get tickets in Edinburgh (we live close to Wembley) for nearly £300 each , cost of travel and hotel are £££. So don’t beat yourself up about the codes, they weren’t any guarantee.

I’m still trying to get a ticket for me and my youngest (only got ticket for eldest) and going to try to get last minute outside the stadium. StubHub offers a refund if it’s not genuine and tries to find you a new ticket. You can buy on there now (for about £500 per ticket) but tickets can’t be transferred until a few days beforehand.

Ratsoffasinkingsauage · 24/05/2024 07:23

Don’t beat yourself up OP. I registered for every venue in Europe and ended up with one code in the second round of sales. It was very much luck of the draw.

It does annoy me to see all those US fans travelling to Europe. She did loads of dates in the US and is going back there to finis the tour. It meant the European fans had less chance of getting tickets. Annoying.
