Here we are, a week after Prince suddenly passed away. This is a thread to grieve, share your memories, thoughts, stories, videos and songs.

My car was written off and salvage company came to collect it. I had obviously cleared it out and when it had gone I realised that I had forgotten to eject a prince CD in the CD player

I think I might have a couple of those free cds unopened if anyone wants one.

I know what you mean Destiny, I had a moment today where I felt close to God. I haven't felt like this before and am starting to wonder whether having a faith is what is missing from my life. Anyone else or am I losing it?

Poodle I don't actually believe in God but a lot of artistic creative pp have talked about being a vessel for God and that they ' receive' work,especially songs from a higher place, I've never felt like that myself but who knows? I'm in see of pp who can create great works from nothing. Where does it come from...?

So no I don't think you're mad. The best art connects us to our deepest, truest selves, it makes us feel connected to our soul and to life itself. It makes us feel whole/ holy. It gives us hope and joy and sometimes just sheer ecstasy and bliss.

It makes us feel both human and divine.

One of the things it has made me think about is my own creativity. I certainly felt more in touch with it when I was 14 than I do now, even if I was just trying to figure out how and if I could express it.

Now I am more likely to be supporting other people or just tied up in the requirements of being an adult, running a household, domestic day to day life.

I guess Prince was always representative of personal freedom and creativity for me.

About him looking so young, I think he just got more and more beautiful as he got older.

I was at work today showing off my new camera cover and all i got was Is it Michael Jackson? You seriously have to find your people don't you? They didn't bat an eyelid when Bowie died either. I guess not everyone is into music or went to gay clubs when they were 17. Can I ask approximately how old everyone is? I'm 48 my sister 46 and we are both gutted. It's been an awful year but ever since January we have text each other so sad but always ended the conversation "at least it wasn't Prince" and now shockingly it is I think the only other one that will bring us close as sisters will be George Michael.

I'm 46. I suspect we're all a similar age.
