Here at MNHQ it's census time again! This survey is open to everyone, and we'd love to hear from as many of you as possible, as it's really useful to us to find out a bit more about the people who use Mumsnet.

As a thank you for completing the census, all who complete the survey and leave their details at the end will be entered into our monthly prize draw where they could win one of three £150 vouchers.

Click here to complete the census

Thanks and good luck!

Is it actually weird or wrong to just be a "woman" now. To be what you were born as.....give it a few years and the options are going to be a mile long... Am i a frying pan? Am i a washing machine? Do i identify as a hippopotamus.... On here... Should you even be called mumsnet if this is the case? Is the term mum allowed these days? Why not birthgiver net? Why not gender neutral caregiver net..... Biggest eye roll i could possibly give!!!

@Waspie

Question 3 makes no sense. Are you asking for my sex or my gender because these are mixed up in this question? If it's sex then I answer "female". If it's gender then I answer "none"
This is why I no longer participate in MN surveys.
Kummerspeck · 13/10/2021 15:22

Jesus wept! I think they've already proved that some MNetters could have an argument in an empty room!

I'm a bit bewildered by the children in your family/household question. I have adult children so they are part of our family but not our household. Which do I go with?

00100001 · 14/10/2021 12:03

Quenstion 3????

Why bother asking what sex we are, then go onto list genders after the male/female options???

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 14/10/2021 20:14

Question 22 refuses to allow me to go to the next page, so I have given up.

SpindleWharl · 15/10/2021 07:38

Who has? What are you on about? Are you seriously equating a polite discussion by women, giving reasons and justifications for their unease, with 'an argument in an empty room'?

Notimeforaname · 15/10/2021 11:32

Ah I finished it and saw it's only open to those in the UK even though Ireland was an option. So no hope of winning 😂

I assumed the poster was talking self-referentially.

Yes, it's all very cringe worthy and grim what he has been getting up to. I think that lots of men get involved with stuff like this and pay for stuff, simply because its all out there now, and ready available at all times to watch and participate in. There maybe no valid reasons that your partner can give, for doing what he does, it's just the pull of this kind of viewing that can rake men in. The girls and women who take part, know very well, that they can exploit men this way, to make some money.

They don't ca

1forAll74 · 15/10/2021 19:55

They don't care about the needy men out there, money matters more,

Sacreblue · 16/10/2021 10:07

Wrong thread @1forAll74 ?

(And fyi many many of those women may not even have a clue they are being filmed much less ruthlessly exploiting the poor menz)

Sacreblue · 16/10/2021 10:16

Actually on thread to say that I contacted a consultation provider about use of ‘gender’ in lieu of sex and asked how they would compare data from previous years’ surveys.

And pleasantly surprised to get a lovely reply noting my concern and changing the question

Survey had only been open a couple of days I think but when I searched for it after the reply, they had indeed just changed Gender: M/F/Other to…

Sex: M/F

I didn’t reference any podcasts but possibly the timing was good.

And it shows it can be done, easily, quickly, without fuss.

So why don’t MN?

AlfonsoTheDinosaur · 16/10/2021 19:57

Nope. Stopped at Q3.

MackenCheese · 20/10/2021 08:37

Done

CaptaNoctem · 20/10/2021 09:44

I'm careful who I share my personal data with and this survey is much too intrusive as usual.

CrackerGal · 20/10/2021 10:50

Is it only for people in the UK?

ZeroFuchsGiven · 21/10/2021 21:48

I never do this sort of shit but tonight I did, or tried at least. Wtaf is Q3? I didnt get past that so no idea what the other qs were and don't want to.

RainbowZebraWarrior · 25/10/2021 10:32

I also haven't completed it, due to the absurdity of q3. I totally agree with @Sacreblue and think you should consider changing this. So much skewed data will ensue because of a sudden change from asking your sex to gender.

1forAll74 · 25/10/2021 13:53

Like someone else mentioned, you need to get info and advice from another source, regarding your future, and job prospects, and not from a general chat forum.

shan2020 · 27/10/2021 18:53

I'm 14dpo today I ovulated on the 12th and got pink spotting on the 25th I used an ovulation test and got two pink lines there that mean I'm pregnant

1forAll74 · 28/10/2021 15:03

It's a pain having to go out, and drive ,to visit people at Christmas on the set Christmas days, that's unless you feel duty bound to do so, and quite like it.. Christmas habits are hard to stop, unless you decide to change them.

ZeroFuchsGiven · 28/10/2021 15:36

What on earth are the last 2 replies? Grin

OchonAgusOchonOh · 31/10/2021 11:35

@Notimeforaname - Ah I finished it and saw it's only open to those in the UK even though Ireland was an option. So no hope of winning

That, plus the conflation of sex and gender, it's why I am not completing it. Really annoys me that MN exclude a large proportion of their members from draws.
