Here at MNHQ it's census time again! This survey is open to everyone, and we'd love to hear from as many of you as possible, as it's really useful to us to find out a bit more about the people who use Mumsnet.

As a thank you for completing the census, all who complete the survey and leave their details at the end will be entered into our monthly prize draw where they could win one of three £150 vouchers.

Click here to complete the census

Thanks and good luck!

got as far as what topics I like to see, and errored out. Sheesh. Will my answers still be submitted?

Beanosaurus · 29/09/2021 20:37

Made it to question 3, I'm still eye rolling now..

ErrolTheDragon · 29/09/2021 21:07

@Ylvamoon

Q12: why can't I be self employed & work part time???
I thought I saw that as an option, maybe they've added it?
ErrolTheDragon · 29/09/2021 21:12

Q3 seemed like an attempt to please everyone which probably pleases very few (who bother to read beyond the first two choices). It would have been more sensible for this 'census' to have followed what the U.K. census did.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 29/09/2021 21:43

MNHQ: you missed out the "feminism" option in q20 Wink (the why do you use Mumsnet question)

Sacreblue · 29/09/2021 23:56

In case you’re reading this thread for additional data, I am excluded from the survey after the sex/gender conflation, similar to how I’m excluded from single sex services that really are mixed sex because they also conflate sex & gender and as a female that demonstrates a lack of care for my safety and actual biological sex class.

2018SoFarSoGreat · 30/09/2021 00:19

done. It kicked me out but when I went back in it continued from where I left off, so all done now.

WaterBottle123 · 30/09/2021 07:03

Another one who won't be filling in due to the conflation of sex and gender

HalzTangz · 30/09/2021 07:41

Would have been good to ask some questions about usability of the mobile app, and also users views on important things happening (pandemic, Brexit, climate control etc), these are far more important questions than people's favourite influencers

Cocogreen · 30/09/2021 07:49

You don't want ALL Mumsnet users to do the census, only the users in the UK, which is fine but you need to specify that at the outset. Not everyone will read the terms and conditions.

Madhairday · 30/09/2021 08:57

I worry the results will be skewed because the questions were very much concentrated on the fluffy; beauty tips, parenting tips, influencers, product tips. No room given to feminism, political debate, even covid etc. Plus yeah to what they said re q3

dworky · 30/09/2021 09:43

#NoThankYou to that nonsense.

FlibbertyGiblets · 30/09/2021 11:12

Done.

EmotionalSupportBear · 30/09/2021 11:24

Why isn't Carer an option for question 10?

Or are we supposed to be embarrased that the main income in the household is via Tax Credits, disability benefits and Carers Allowance?

Giggorata · 30/09/2021 11:35

Another one objecting to the conflation of sex and gender - on here, of all places.

DPotter · 30/09/2021 11:42

@Ylvamoon

Q12: why can't I be self employed & work part time???
I answered in the 'other' category

Me too on that

It could at least have mirrored the actual census (post judicial review, obvs).
TinselTitsAndGlitteryBits · 30/09/2021 13:22

Also not answering with the conflation of sex and gender.

I am a woman, but I don't 'identify' as anything. I'm just me.

Really short-sighted of MN.

Mysa74 · 30/09/2021 13:24

Done xx

Jellycatspyjamas · 30/09/2021 13:51

@Sacreblue said it better than I could.

This. On Mumsnet of all places 🙄
SparklingLime · 30/09/2021 14:42

Are these standard categories? Placing of teachers and ‘junior’ doctors seems odd.

Oh my word. I didn't get that far. What a bizarre set of groupings.

The highly skilled registrar I saw today is technically a 'junior doctor'!

FrenchFancie · 30/09/2021 15:33

Ahhh one of my feedback things was that, at the moment on MN trans and gender issues are shoehorned into everything…. This comment thread proves me right. Just tick whichever box is closest to what you are / feel whatever - this isn’t legally binding, it’s just a bloody survey!!
