Hello. We're extremely honoured (and just a little bit over-excited) to announce that royal bride-to-be Kate Middleton is coming to MNHQ for a webchat today at 1pm.

A while back, we put in a formal request for Kate to take part in a Mumsnet webchat (nothing ventured, nothing gained and all that) but, truth be told, we weren't that hopeful, given her other pressing engagements this week.

But then, this morning, the Buckingham Palace Press Office rang to say Miss Middleton had some time this lunchtime between her last dress fitting and her first palace-balcony-etiquette briefing - and would be delighted to drop in and chat to Mumsnetters. Apparently, she's been lurking on Mumsnet quite a lot recently and has been finding the Bridezilla discussions a real eye opener. Shock

So, quick, please post your (suitably deferential) questions for Miss Middleton here - and join us for our very first royal webchat at 1pm.

Oh MNHQ, I hope you're hanging your heads! I know it hasn't hurt anyone but there will be disappointed mnetters (and their children Sad ) as a result. As part of your punishment, I think you should gather together all the good wishes posted on this thread and make sure they are sent to the real Kate Middleton. And employ someone who can set up a better fake webchat joke in case Harry gets married any time in the future Wink

Some of you may be laughing about upsetting the children but my ds has SN and if you say something is going to happen he believes it will and get very upset if it doesn't. I was just about to tell him all about this when I realised it was a spoof. Thank god I hadn't told him or I would have had one hell of an upset child to deal with all afternoon. Badjoke MNHQ!

crazynanna · 26/04/2011 13:10

Cheers DamnitJanet....all clear

pawsnclaws · 26/04/2011 13:10

I wanted to ask if Wills ever said "come, kiss me Kate" to her. Now I'll never know the answer Sad.

DamnItJanet · 26/04/2011 13:10

No worries Kate, any chance of a last minute invite ? The film was awful but very funny.

BitOfFun · 26/04/2011 13:11

Oh, don't be daft. You just keep pretending, like with Father Christmas and don't let them read the Daily Mail tomorrow.

DamnItJanet · 26/04/2011 13:11

My dd has sn too and is wetting herself at me for falling for it.

Ruggettee · 26/04/2011 13:12

Bother....I agreed to work through lunch so I could stay online and read this....feel so gullible and foolish Blush

Excellent jape, jolly well done MN (can we have a flag-waving emoticon please?!)

Also pleased to have caught a proper controversial MN thread before it becomes the stuff of legend even if I did only catch the arse end of the furore

OeufaBrain - yes I will admit that outfits have been organised to a colour scheme. Mostly white and pastels. I am not at liberty to reveal details of my dress but I have some amazing shoes to go with it.

Regarding memorabilia - well I think it's brilliant if it helps the economy really. Even the condoms - it is important for one to be responsible and what better way than using condoms? Although I was quite tickled by the misprinted mugs with me marrying Harry. How funny!

cheesecakehannah · 26/04/2011 13:12

Hello Kate
I was just wondering what personal touches you've been able to make to your big day? Or have your hands been tied with tradition?!

Not a question - but a little tip - don't be without a glass of water all day - it's exhausting work chatting to all those guests (I had a measley 50 attend my wedding and I was shattered enough!!).

All the best to you both!

Love the tiara emoticon idea. Now please MNHQ!

cheesecakehannah · 26/04/2011 13:14

caramelwaffle · 26/04/2011 13:15

Oh.

I only read through the remainder of this to see if MmeLindt had an update on her son;
glad to see he is all o.k.

Come on kate, answer mine - admit you can't stand that Jules off Blake who keeps popping up to give his inisders view...

and will harry shag pippa?

MissKateMiddleton · 26/04/2011 13:15

Muffinmum - I think it's incredibly sweet that your daughter is having a party in communion dresses. I've recently been confirmed into the Church of England myself, there's nothing to beat dressing up a nice frock. :)

In answer to your question, no unfortunately all my best friends are unable to attend on Friday. Really no excuse really, it's not like they are not getting the day off . But anyway, we do plan to take a trip out tomorrow night (obviously I can't say where) and celebrate then and I know they are all really pleased for me.

GypsyMoth · 26/04/2011 13:16

MNHQ.........so if any questions asked in good faith are then picked up and laughed at by the media.........Justine.are you happy with that???

GentleOtter · 26/04/2011 13:16

Yes, Jenai. Grin

Justine's eyes are like this BiscuitBiscuit and she is dancing to Slade.

MissKateMiddleton · 26/04/2011 13:17

Fififi - It is amazing how quickly you get used to having journalists around all the time - I suppose you don't really notice. But yes everyone is lovely and no-one really oversteps the mark, the media has been really respectful of our privacy by and large and I'm very grateful for all the support we've received.

MissKateMiddleton · 26/04/2011 13:18

thebestisyettocome In answer to your question Wales is a beautiful country and very diverse. I could happily live there forever. But if I'm honest, sometimes the rain does annoy one somewhat.

cgolds24 · 26/04/2011 13:19

Hi Kate - massive congrats, you make such a fab couple, my question is, given the sheer number of things you probably have to be just a teeny bit nervous about, what are you MOST nervous about, what's giving you the real butterflies?!
