Honest question. Is this site a religious site?

It seems to me there's a large amount of Christian posts. I've also noticed a fair amount of disapproval for other religions.

I am an atheist. I don't really want to be part of a christian site posing as a parenting site.

So is this actually a Christian place?

Shall we petition MNHQ for a "Biscuits" topic? Or would that be too exclusive, and we should include all forms of baking?

VersdeSociete · 27/01/2009 12:01

So many Tunnocks products to try! I wonder if follderoll could be cod, returning in mysterious ways...

CatIsSleepy · 27/01/2009 12:01

that's the most bizarre OP i've seen in quite a while

morningpaper · 27/01/2009 12:01

I would like to close my eyes and have UQD appear naked, preferably proffering a tin of biscuits

UnquietDad · 27/01/2009 12:02

I suppose you have to look at it as if there were a section called "Flat-earthers" or "The moon is made of cheese." You'd try to stay away and leave them to it, but every so often someone would say something so crass about round-earthers or non-cheesers that you'd just have to step in. You'd just want to make the one sensible comment and then walk away, but then your sensible comment gets picked up on and countered with some nonsense or other. And of course you can leave it, but then it looks as if you have shrugged and said "OK, your nonsense is right."

UnquietDad · 27/01/2009 12:02

LOL morningpaper, you really wouldn't

CatIsSleepy · 27/01/2009 12:02

and hey, biscuits aren't just for the CofE
i made some very lovely chocolate parkin biscuits recently

IorekByrnison · 27/01/2009 12:03

Oh well chocolate parkin... let me guess, are you RC, cat?

CatIsSleepy · 27/01/2009 12:04

very lapsed

Threadworm · 27/01/2009 12:05
morningpaper · 27/01/2009 12:06

UQD you under-estimate my need for biscuits

FAQtothefuture · 27/01/2009 12:06

ha - you've not been to my CoE church then we have nice biscuits (not not "NICE" biscuits) just very yummy ones, no custard creams, and lots of muffins and homemade flapjack too

morningpaper · 27/01/2009 12:06

Custard Creams ARE very Anglican, I'm afraid

Catholic biscuits is something more weighty like a Digestive

morningpaper · 27/01/2009 12:07

FAQ I think you are confusing Church with the NCT

CatIsSleepy · 27/01/2009 12:07

actually Dan Lepard is my biscuit guru
I have no idea of his religious affiliation, I must say
Iorek-how did you arrive at RC from chocolate parkin? am also intrigued

FAQtothefuture · 27/01/2009 12:08
  • MP so you mean all these years I've been playing the organ for the breastfeeding mummy's and not the chuch!!!
CatIsSleepy · 27/01/2009 12:09

this has reminded me of cake or death

Threadworm · 27/01/2009 12:09

Shall we all state our fav bisuit and see if Iorek can deduce our theological positions?

WilfSell · 27/01/2009 12:09

mine is garibaldi

IorekByrnison · 27/01/2009 12:10

I have extensive experience of the anglo-catholic biscuit spectrum, cat. Chocolate parkin is a long way over to the Catholic side. It's probably what they eat at Opus Dei meetings.

Threadworm · 27/01/2009 12:10

Wilfsell: you are clearly a satanist.

UnquietDad · 27/01/2009 12:10

I like the way this has gone all biscuit-related.

georgimama · 27/01/2009 12:11

Bourbon.

Seriously, to answer the OP, this is somewhere that people talk about stuff that matters to them, or interests them, or about which they would like advice. Mostly that is about their children but it's far wider than that and sometimes religion comes into it.

If it bothers you that much, hide the spirituality section.

Iorek you are worrying me
is dan lepard a member of Opus Dei? I need to know

and which biscuits would be more suitable for a lapsed catholic?

mind you they were good
had ginger in too
does that change anything?
