"I'm reaching out" - no, you are contacting me by email

"it broke me" - no, it made you a bit sad

"Picky bits tea" - just no

@bumblenbean oh god, ‘this one’. JFC.

’Karma will get them/I’m a big believer in karma’. Firstly, they’ve got the concept completely fucking wrong, and secondly, how do they explain all the bad stuff that happens to good people? What did they do for ‘karma’ to bite them in the arse.

“We need the room” - er, no you don’t, you just think you are mega important and want a word in private with your equally pompous mate.

Closely related to: “Let's shut it down” - I’ve actually made a decision and I want everyone to think it was really fucking important.

Holibobs and Crimbo. The perpetrators should have 75 years hard labour.

Along with hubster and famalam.

Incorrect usage of myself and yourself.

God yes it makes me so bloody angry.

Everyone is saying and writing it....myself and ?????

It's not myself 😡

People who say they’ve ’done’ a country …. Closely followed by ‘ and the locals were all so nice‘ which inevitably ends with me asking about relevant war criminals in a tone of shocked innocence.

'6am in the morning.' So, 6am then?

Also pointless irritating rhyming phrases like 'pocket rocket', 'on it like a car bonnet' and 'winner winner chicken dinner'. Arrrggh! 😬

Slide into my dms makes me think you dirty bustard it feels sneaky
Touch base what you're an ejit just talk.
Let's pencil it in...no twat I have no pencil it's yes or no
Blue sky thinking means no one has a clue let's talk utter shite for half an hour as per our designated strategy meeting

Not a fan of people saying 'passed'. My mum died, if she had passed I would have gone by her in the street.

That makes me almost incandescent with rage. "passed" what? a kidney stone, an exam, a driving test? No, they are dead, it is hard to hear, hard to cope with but editing out the word will not make it easier. All it does is try to sanitise something that is coming to us all and we will all be bereaved when we are still living. Death is going to be even more of a taboo now that "passed" is becoming ever more ubiquitous

Shite is a great word. Onomatopoeic and under used
Whereas shit,is ubiquitous

Dotto · 01/07/2024 23:50

BionicBadger · 01/07/2024 23:50

Adulting. Oh bog off.

Changeychang · 01/07/2024 23:50

People using 'myself' when they mean 'me' and 'I' where it should be 'me'

Also, the use of 'I can speak to' as in: "can you put the report on screen so I can speak to it"

How is ‘shite’ onomatopoeic?! Have I been doing it wrong?

As a dressmaker, ‘hack’ - No, you’re adapting the pattern to fit you, as you always should with a standard size pattern.

Gifted, grab a coffee, and ‘I’m good’. 🤢

Oh, and ‘passed’. Where did the ‘away’ go? Died will always do for me, thanks.

Grab a bite to eat
Supper 🤢🤢🤢

Starrynights9 · 01/07/2024 23:54

So many here I agree with. My contribution although not sticking to the thread & its been mentioned many times before, I still need to add it.
'I could of'
'I should of'
'you should of' writing of instead of have. Reading this makes my toes curl.

Dogstar78 · 01/07/2024 23:55

Rachelsthorns · 01/07/2024 20:56

"Stakeholders" in every job advertisement I read sets my teeth on edge.

Yes! Although writing can you deal with dicks that all think their ill thought through contribution should be prioritised and absolutely happen immediately I guess takes up too much space.

@voiceofastar

Get a bit of practice in, rattle that porcelain. Make it onomatopoeic
