"I'm reaching out" - no, you are contacting me by email

"it broke me" - no, it made you a bit sad

"Picky bits tea" - just no

“Hilarious” when it’s just mildly amusing and they’re not even laughing much.

Referring to the unborn baby as ‘bump’.

‘Bump’s first Christmas’

Was nearly sick all down myself while pregnant when people would text asking ‘how’s bump?’. 🤢

I somehow can't imagine asking - correctly - "How's your foetus?"

@ClaudiaWinklepanda A RED LIP - Gghhh winds me right up !

How do you feel about a barrel trouser?

Isittimeformynapyet · 01/07/2024 23:56

End of

It sounds like Phil Mitchell trying to shut his bird down after making his point.

BionicBadger · 01/07/2024 23:56

Yes, as well as the more pretentious and equally annoying “Hilaire” @Vladthecat

Another hater of “passed” instead of “died”“popped their clogs” or “ croaked it”

On reflection, calling my sister to say "we've lost mum" was probably not the right term to use as she instantly wanted to know where she was last seen. I think it was the shock.

FranklySonImTheGaffer · 02/07/2024 00:03

Hubs & bubs

Making memories

Giving a Childs age in months when they're 2 years old and above - was told just yesterday "My daughter is 38 months 🙄"

One I've started to see online 'How X looks like.' 🤬

Various work nonsense - cascading the message, reaching out, looping you in, taking it offline etc
Also a new work one for me - let's set a soft deadline. WTF is that? Confused

As a pp added - a red lip/ a wide leg trouser. Makes me want to shout the 's' sound at people.

There are so many others but I'm just going to add the ones recently used by my (lovely) teenage nephew. They're awful but so stupid that they're funny.

  • Cuz, bruh, bruv and fam - used interchangeably for any member of the family he wants to talk to.
  • LOL (literally saying the letters out loud) which kind of smiling but definitely not laughing
  • cringe-wagon (no idea what this meant)

A Daily Fail favourite… “slips into” for a woman wearing clothes. Makes my skin crawl!!

I remember being confused by a magazine article I read once, it was some celebrity who was being interviewed and the article said "She slipped on a gold dress" and I was thinking "well that was careless - who left that lying on the floor?"

Busybeemumm · 02/07/2024 00:05

Garlickest · 01/07/2024 23:55

I somehow can't imagine asking - correctly - "How's your foetus?"

Or you could just ask "how are you feeling" given that the mother and unborn are one body until birth.

FranklySonImTheGaffer · 02/07/2024 00:06

There was one more I wanted to add - side hustle. It's not a hustle, it's a second job, and doing any type of hustle immediately makes me think you're conning people.

"Sus"

"Adulting"

I spotted someone has already mentioned "unalived". What an awful term!

JanglingJack · 02/07/2024 00:08

You fucking twat.

Sorry wrong thread!

FeelingHotHotHotFeelingHotHotHot · 02/07/2024 00:09

'Can anyone recommend a jacket - for a meal out for a friend's 40th birthday - for a woman who is large of nork?'

Hmm

I HATE THAT! 'Large of nork!' WTF?!

OH MY GOD! This has appeared on a few threads this past week on here.

UNALIVED. Meaning dead.

One thread the other day says 'my partner says he will unalive himself if I leave!'

I wanted so badly to say 'unalive?! FUCKING UNALIVE?! WTAF?' But I refrained as I may have got put on the naughty step!

MissMuffetisin · 02/07/2024 00:12

All of a sudden - what’s wrong with suddenly?
“ Enjoy your match day experience “ over the tannoy at our local football club - it’s a 90 minute league 2 football match we’re about to watch, we’re not at Glastonbury .

BionicBadger · 02/07/2024 00:12

Sorry but I have to pull you up on that @Reelyeasty… I think you’ll find the correct terms are maths and mathsing.

It is annoying isn't it? 10-12+ years out of date too. My DD and her pals were saying this in 2010-2012 - in their teens. They haven't said it for a decade for sure...

Nanny0gg · 02/07/2024 00:15

MonsteraMama · 01/07/2024 20:30

Yes, this please. I literally never see or hear "it needs done" anywhere but here and I hate it. It's either "it needs doing" or "it needs to be done".

Scottish dialect isn't it?

FeelingHotHotHotFeelingHotHotHot · 02/07/2024 00:16

OH, if anyone watches Love Island - I catch the odd episode but don't watch if more than twice a week, they call kissing - lipsing. LIP- SING. Really annoys me. Just say kissing you fuckers!Hmm

voiceofastar · 02/07/2024 00:19

@FeelingHotHotHotFeelingHotHotHot ’a decent rack’ is similarly awful.

@Reelyeasty math instead of maths. A shootable offence.
