How often does your OH think about the Roman Empire?

saw on Facebook a post saying that men think about the Roman Empire every day. The woman asked her husband and he said this was true and that he thinks about it daily. The comments was people asking their husbands how often they think about the Roman Empire with some very funny responses 😂

So, I’ll start .., I’ve just asked DH and he said “at least twice a week, why?”

I did read that the Greeks are upset we don't think about them enough

I was going to say the Fosse Way (don't forget the 'e')

My grandparents lived in an old toll cottage along the Fosse Way and we spent many a summer being dragged round all the Roman remains in the area. Hated it at the time, but looking back it was fascinating.

My h said 'about once every three years'. I think about it much more often. Maybe I'm a man?

DC1 said, completely deadpan, about once a fortnight. A couple of years ago when they were studying Ancient History GCSE I expect it would have been a lot higher. Like PPs for me it's usually triggered by Roman roads or people misusing "decimate".

Just checked and DP said, "about once or twice a year," which is probably how often he teaches or marks essays about it it for classical civilisation papers.

My husband asked what the options were, as if it were a multiple choice question.

DH "Never".
Me "Not at all?"
DH "No. Should I be?"

DH says "Not that often, but sometimes". We were just talking about Roman concrete in the car on the way home, but only because we drove past what looked like a concrete factory.

That's hilarious! Just asked dh who said more than once a week but not every day.

The Romans got to Ireland but decided not to invade because it was more profitable to trade with Ireland as a free partner than to have to invade, conquer, put down insurrections and garrison it. By the time they finished most of Great Britain (they didn’t get all of it) the Empire was already in decline.

"Every couple of days". I was gobsmacked, but then he asked me the same question and we talked about it until I conceded I'm about the same. Am even more gobsmacked.

I do think about Genghis Khan a lot. Mainly because I like the words/names Chingis and Temujin and like to say them in my head!!!!!
