How often does your OH think about the Roman Empire?

saw on Facebook a post saying that men think about the Roman Empire every day. The woman asked her husband and he said this was true and that he thinks about it daily. The comments was people asking their husbands how often they think about the Roman Empire with some very funny responses 😂

So, I’ll start .., I’ve just asked DH and he said “at least twice a week, why?”

Apparently every couple of weeks?? Then he asked how often I thought about it and when I said “never” he looked surprised

I'm not sure about the Roman Empire but DH says he thinks about WW2 almost every day.

I've just remembered I have a Roman poetry book by Catullus. Its basically Latin porn 😂

It's a bloody shame that the Vikings went Christian and women's rights faded. We would never had have the poverty, either.
I think the achievements of the Romans were pushed based on colour tbh. The achievements and inventions by the Egyptians and Chinese in comparison were downplayed. I think a lot of men see it as a clean shaven, manly empire and like to identify with the Romans.

This is hilarious, I asked DH who said once every 3-6 months and then asked DS, who is26 who said once a day! I’m shocked!

This thread is funny as fuck. Loads of confused blokes all over the place. Wonder if anyone will say at work tomorrow that they got asked this and somebody else says 'Me too!!!!'

Me too. I can only assume there is some sort of in joke going on that is going way over my head.

I thought of the Roman Empire when I went on holiday to Rome, when I have seen Roman things in museums and when I went to Fishbourne Roman villa and if I very occasionally see something on TV about it. So certainly not a few times a weeks, more like a handful of times a year.

I asked DH and honestly the most interesting thing was how he just treated it like a really normal question and answered it completely deadpan -

‘About once a month, unless something prompts me in between’ apparently.

I’d really like to get into the detail of WHAT he’s actually thinking about it but he’s watching football (on delay) so will have to wait.

I think if the question had been WW2 the answer would have been ‘hourly’ - in fact I’m pretty sure that there’s never actually been a time since he was about 10 when he wasn’t thinking about WW2 at least in some part of his brain.

DC is quite into the Asterix books

My dh definately is a never, & says it was too long ago for him. Strangely I'm slightly disappointed in his answer 🤣

OK... but if I thought about any of those things, the Romans would not come to mind ever!
