To ask for an explanation for wtf just happened? **MNHQ UPDATE: Mystery solved!**

I'm seriously creeped out and can't figure out a rational explanation so I'm hoping someone can!

Sitting in the kitchen, eating dinner when a black shape ran past my legs, close enough that I felt it pass. Figured it was my cat at first but when I stood up, she was sitting on the windowsill!

The dark shape ran into the living room where my partner is (he saw it too, because he shouted me!)

It apparently jumped on the sideboard and vanished in front of his eyes. There's nowhere it could go - the sideboard is solid oak on a solid stone wall.

The dog is now going mental at the sideboard like there's something there (if there is, we can't find it!)

I'm genuinely creeped out - anyone have a rational explanation? What the hell did we see?

Love this - lovely looking rabbit. A ghost might have been more interesting, but...

Well, I wasn't expecting that outcome! My mum read the OP to me when I was on the phone to her last night, and I got that horribly icy feeling down my spine, and was convinced it was a ghost. (I'm very woo.) It being a rabbit (and a very cute one too!) is much better.

No to ghost, could be rat. If dog is interested, rat seems likely. PS Ghosts are not real.

Does anyone know if there was ever an update from the poster who thought she saw a ghost nurse in the (usually locked) upstairs of her workplace? I've forgotten what the thread was called now.

Word of caution about cute rabbit. We used to have a pet rabbit. It sometimes made its way into the house and would always make a bee line for the phone line and chew it’s way through it. Don’t know why they are attracted to it, we couldn’t work out why the landline wasn’t working until we examined the bitten evidence, twice this happened.
