To ask your "glitch in the matrix" moment?

Hello,

I had a glitch in the matrix last night whilst dying my hair, I took the nozzle off the bottle and put it on the sink and then I mixed the dye etc and when I went to get the nozzle it was gone, I moved everything off the sink, looked on the floor but it was gone so I managed without and then once the hair dye was on I found the nozzle on the sink on top of something I'd moved and I swear it wasn't there before! Not a major event but it was a bit weird.

Do you have any glitch in the matrix stories? (Basically unexplained events)

@AlizeeEasy

I once yawned and at the exact moment I opened my mouth to the exact moment I closed it the sound of a motorcycle revving sounded outside, for a solid moment my brain thought I had made that sound
Grin This is brilliant!

Love stuff like this.

Last week I drove to a place. Bin lorry on the corner of one street had to go around it. 10 mins later bin lorry middle of the main road had to go around it. Nothing weird, sometimes does happen on bin day.

Yesterday I drove to the shops, up the same way I went last week. Went same route to start with. Bin lorry exact spot on the corner of same street, i had to go around it, i thought haha this happened last week, 10 mins later on the main road, I swear on my life bin lorry EXACT same spot and I had to go around it.

Not sure if that's the kind of thing you mean, but it was v weird to me it wasn't even the same time as last week. It's like I was doing last week all over again.

I had gone to Liverpool for the weekend with my partner. I don’t drink so was totally sober. He was drunk. We left the cavern club (we were being touristy) at 1.30 or 2 and our hotel was two streets away so at most a ten minute walk with a drunk. We didn’t get in until half three. We went straight there without stopping. It was all very strange.
I joke we were abducted by aliens but a glitch in the matrix might account for it

Knock at the door, went to answer it and there was an elderly man I had never seen before, he asked me if I had lived here long and did I know the previous residents as he was looking for them, I said I'm sorry I don't know anything about the previous owners and he looked very forlorn about that, my daughter came up behind me and said hello (nosey little thing she is) and then he left. Nothing out of the ordinary. My daughter said he was strange but she's little so she is about as tactful as a brick in the face but to be fair he was a little odd, but nothing I could put my finger on. A few seconds after I closed the door I hear a loud crash and look out to see the tree in a big pot by the door was tipped over and the planter cracked, I was livid and wondering why on earth he did it! I went back to check the ring camera footage and... it was 45 seconds of me and my daughter talking to no one, he wasn't there. And then the planter just falls over a little while after we close the door. I felt sick and hated living in that house afterwards, we moved eventually.

I'd been NC with my dad for many years before he died. When the time came to clear out his house, my brother offered to get me a set of keys cut so that I could go there within him to get rid of some of the stuff as DB doesn't drive.

There were 6 keys on the bunch. He handed me my set, I put them on the ledge in the kitchen while we were cleaning / sorting things out, and they completely disappeared! No-one else could have come in and there was hardly any furniture left at that stage so they weren't caught up with anything else.

I guess dad didn't want me to have keys to his house then!

danni0509 · 12/01/2022 17:43

Another weird one. This spooks me when I think of it, I play a silly game with myself when I turn my car radio on and try guess the song before I put it on, I randomly thought 'flowers' by sweet female attitude, fuck me it was the one I'd thought of, not the new remix by Nathan Dawes but actually sweet female attitude! I bought a lottery ticket that week ! (Never won Grin) I've been doing this silly 'guess the song' since I've been driving. It's only happened the once.

Bollocks2Covid · 12/01/2022 17:43

Where to start. I went through a phase of being able to predict the football results despite knowing bugger all about football. I was always specific about the score line as well.

I have some very ‘odd’ childhood memories. One of them is of being in my Auntie and Uncles back garden with my cousins and a huge aeroplane flew right over head, so low it was like standing at the end of. Runway and deafeningly loud. The nearest airport was Manchester over an hour away in the opposite direction.

That house house had a really odd vibe when I think back. Not haunted but just very weird and unnerving, It was a modern build house on a small holding, and I think my Uncles family were the only people who’d ever lived in it.

"A more useful thing was that I would wake up and think "I hope my teacher is out sick today" or "I hope she changes the deadline for the homework because I haven't done it" and 9/10 times it would happen. Unfortunately that has also left me terrified of having any thoughts in case I make one come true that I didn’t want sad"

Speaking of having thoughts, I started my diary up again just after the start of the pandemic after not having written it for a year. The last entry I'd written before I'd stopped was saying (tongue in cheek) that I wished there'd be some sort of pandemic as there were too many cars on the roads, queues in shops and the swimming pool was too busy Blush

@VinylCafe

Many years ago when the DC were babies, their tiny socks would go missing in the washing machine - usually one of a pair. We were moving house 7 years later and I was doing one last load of laundry. When I was taking the wet clothes out of the machine, there were the missing baby socks! At first I thought they had gotten stuck somewhere in the machine for 7 years, then I remembered we got rid of the old washer and bought a new one the year before.
I bet they were right in the corner of a pillowcase or duvet cover. So tiny you never noticed them.
Catswhisky · 12/01/2022 17:45

Nowhere near as strange as most of these but when DC3 was conceived I knew instantly that I was pregnant. We weren’t trying to conceive and I was on the pill but I knew with 100% certainty instantly.

lorrainecleaver · 12/01/2022 17:45

Am so freaked out by the poster whose uncle changed suddenly like a new soap cast member!

Four years ago we moved house and, after doing some decorating, I asked DH to bring in the two over-mantel mirrors. They're identical except one's gold, one's silver, I'd worked out which rooms would suit which. He brought in two gold mirrors. We both know for a fact one was silver.

Echofallen · 12/01/2022 17:47

Not really a glitchy thing just a bit strange. Years ago I was visiting Stonehenge early in the morning. We were wandering around admiring it and I removed my lipbalm tin from my jacket pocket to apply some and noticed that it was all melted! It was freezing cold out, so not as if I was somewhere hot that caused it to melt as I've had that happen before. Odd.

ClaudineClare · 12/01/2022 17:48

I went into work one Monday morning, my boss told me a funny story about what her dog had done in the park on Sunday. A couple of weeks later, I went into work and my boss told me a funny story about what her dog had done in the park on Sunday. Exactly the same story. At the time I thought maybe she had invented the story but forgotten she had told me it or something like that (she was slightly odd). I never thought until now it could have been a glitch in the Matrix.

onedayoranother · 12/01/2022 17:49

I walk my dog in a park with an outer part and then a sort of wiggly diamond shape inner path with a cross shaped path down the middle. There must be a woman who has an identical twin wearing identical clothes with an identical dog, as I always go counterclockwise and we will cross paths and then literally a few minutes later I'll see her coming towards me again! I once saw her head across the cross path before she reached me to greet a friend and I could hear them as I passed where the paths met (so they were a bit to my side then behind me) but then I swear seconds later she was approaching me from the front! I mean I'm looking at her - same bobble hat, same hair, same dog - and thinking there must be a time loop thing going on.
Though I've also had thing where I am looking high and low for something (yesterday it was a bottle of salad dressing), I do not have a big kitchen but could not find it anywhere so give up. Next morning I come downstairs and it is literally the first thing I see front and centre.

ClaudineClare · 12/01/2022 17:49

The second time it was also a Monday morning, btw.

Christinatherabbit · 12/01/2022 17:49

When we were children we had a caravan. One night my little brother (must have been around 5) woke us all up screaming about a fire. He was inconsolable saying the walls had flames and our beds were burning. Took ages to settle him and stop the sobbing. The next night around one am we were woken to a pop and a fire had started in the kitchen area. We managed to get out and after running for help and 2 fire extinguishers fire was out we and spent the night in the car. Next morning went to survey the damage, there were burns all up the walls and when we lifted up our beds there were scorchmarks all underneath. Thank god we all made it out safely

Yes that kind of thing! I get intrusive thoughts sometimes and then panic because I expect the entire world to collapse thanks to my random thought.
UndertheCedartree · 12/01/2022 17:50

I have often had experiences like yours when something vanishes and then appears again in such an obvious place. I call it 'the pixies'!

Justmebeingme245 · 12/01/2022 17:51

When my daughter was about 2, she had a helium balloon in the garden. I told her not to let go because it would float away. I was gardening and she let go and it floated up. I turned around and she was about to cry so I turned back to take my gardening gloves off etc and go to comfort her.
When I turn led back, she had the balloon back in her hand and stopped crying.
I saw it float off. What happened?!!! I will never know!

Bollindger · 12/01/2022 17:51

My ex died, I was half asleep on the sofa and I felt him slide in behind me and snuggle up, cripes your cold, I said out loud. The person on the TV replied, you try walking for a week outside in the winter.
He had died exactly a week ago.

Justmebeingme245 · 12/01/2022 17:51

Turned not turn led.

Have you heard of the bold street time slip? It’s also in central Liverpool

I dreamed one night that I was married to someone that I vaguely knew through a hobby and woke up feeling so happy, only to turn over in bed to see my partner at the time. A couple of years after that we split up and I've now been married to the man in my dream for 15 years.
