To ask your "glitch in the matrix" moment?

Hello,

I had a glitch in the matrix last night whilst dying my hair, I took the nozzle off the bottle and put it on the sink and then I mixed the dye etc and when I went to get the nozzle it was gone, I moved everything off the sink, looked on the floor but it was gone so I managed without and then once the hair dye was on I found the nozzle on the sink on top of something I'd moved and I swear it wasn't there before! Not a major event but it was a bit weird.

Do you have any glitch in the matrix stories? (Basically unexplained events)

Oh I have another one, more spooky though, thinking about it makes me fucking scared.
We went with my partner to see horror at Cinema (can't remember the name of the movie) we were on our own, literally 2 people in the room and the Cinema room felt weird, cold too.I was very unsettled .
We didn't even finish watching the movie and I just wanted to go home.
The whole journey I felt we were followed by someone.
My partner has walked me back home, we were both walking towards my house when we both turned around and saw the weirderst creature ever, the cteature was about 3 maters high, all black and skinny (like a slanderman ?) It was walking towards the corner then dissapeared !?!??!
We were both standing there in silnece .
I keep thinking if this was even real.
We didn't smoke and drink that night.
Just fucking weird

Doesn't bother me at all. Most of them can be explained.

I used to 'see' things. As a young woman, I saw myself with a child who was my daughter, but her hair was a different colour from mine, so I assumed I would be adopting. No, when she came along years later she had that hair. I 'saw' her washing up- a boy younger than her, tall with long blond hair, standing behind her with his arms around her waist - he loved her very much. He turned up too, tall, blond, loving and six months younger.

I used to be able to find things by calling to them and holding out my hand, which would then draw me towards whatever I was looking for. I told someone about this and he said 'Not all gifts are from God.' I shouldn't have believed him, it was such a useful gift! Also I later connected it with my dad being a dowser - he's never made a big thing of it but men he worked with did. Same thing.

I did out of body stuff daily from birth? until a bad 'trip' in my thirties. An unpleasant o-o-b not anything drug-related.

I'm Australian, and in October 2002 I was visiting Singapore for work. On the Friday morning I awoke to what I thought was a radio news bulletin: "A bomb has gone off in Bali and five Australians are dead." But the radio was off. I switched it on to hear the 8am news, but nothing was said about a bomb in Bali. I looked through the morning's papers, then hunted through the previous day's papers in case my brain had scrambled something I'd read. But there was nothing. So I dismissed the "bulletin" as a trick of REM sleep.

On the Sunday I awoke to a real news bulletin. Two bombs had gone off in Bali overnight and more than 200 people were dead, including 88 Australians.

It haunts me now that perhaps the cosmos was trying to give me urgent info and I ignored it. Had I taken it seriously I could have called the consulate in Denpasar and asked if they'd heard any warnings about terrorist activity. My call could have prompted them to ask the Bali police, and maybe everyone would have been super-vigilant that weekend. But I didn't do anything.

@AncientofMuMu

It's nowhere near as odd as some of the posts on here but when I was about 17/18, my dad went on a trip to Prague, he brought me a pair of beautiful earrings as a present when he came back. They were really unusual and my favourite pair - my dad was really happy when I told him this. I loved them and wore them all the time.

When he died (about 10 years later), I decided that I'd wear them at the funeral. I'd last worn them about a week earlier and had put them, as I always did, back in the box where I keep all my earrings.
There was only 1 of them in there.
I searched every where, I even opened the hoover bag and went through it, checked everywhere in the house when I came to move out a few months later (and again went through the hoover bag just in case I'd hoovered it up when I cleaned the rooms after the furniture had been taken out but I never found the earring. I've kept the one I have though. I don't really believe in ghosts or the afterlife but a teeny tiny part of me hopes that he's got the other one with him.

I'm not at all woo (and very late to this thread) but that just brought a tear to my eye. I hope it's true Smile

@Indigofig

About 4 years ago there was a bad storm and I'm quite anxious anyway but I was trying to call my dp. He didn't answer but an older lady did, she said hello I said hello and I said sorry I'm after my husband let's call him Paul and she said why are you calling off my husband Paul's phone? I said no I'm calling off my phone trying to get hold of my partner Paul. We were both so freaked out by it. We hung up and called again and got each other. We could only assume there was a crossed wire with the storm, but the same name as we were both trying to get hold of our dh dp called Paul... Freaky. Dp called me soon after from the car and I told him the story, he was so shocked.

This also happened many years before when I was a teenager and listening to the radio on my Nokia, I picked up our land-line and heard my mums friend tell her on the phone that someone we knew had died.

Very weird

Oh I’ve had the phone weirdness a few times in the past. We had one of those massive cordless white phones with the long aerial that you pulled out when I was a kid and we used to be able to hear taxi drivers talking on their radios all the time. We’d also hear the same woman and I’ve no idea who she was, it was obviously a cross wire but it was someone we didn’t know so not a neighbour. I always remember picking it up one day and heading this woman discussing her child’s birthday party with someone really clearly. I could have gate crashed if I’d wanted.😂 I used to talk back to her but she couldn’t hear us.

Later on my parents set up a business from home and we had an old style fax/phone and I used to be able to hear a radio station on that. I’ll never forget picking it up one day and hearing Penny Lane by the Beatles!

The weirdest thing ever though was when I was listening to the radio on my 90’s Hi Fi in my bedroom one night when the police helicopter flew directly over my house, really low. The radio signal broke up and I could hear the men in the helicopter talking on my radio. That was weird as fuck on reflection.

Speaking of radio weirdness I was early for work one morning and parked my car where I always did and was listening to Heart FM when all of a sudden that broke up and I could hear a French radio station! Understandable if I lived on the South Coast as I believe it’s a very common occurrence there, but this was in North Wales!

@HeadfirstForHalos

This might seem a bit random and boring but it really freaked me out at the time, it still does to be honest. I was watching TV one Saturday with my DH and DD (16) and the masked singer came on. It's not something we watch and I was going to switch channels but the start showed that Duck was in this episode, so I said to my DH I'd quite like to watch this one as Duck was Skin from Skunk Anansie, a band we both liked back in the day. I clearly remembered having seen clips from it when she took her head piece off and you could see that it was Skin, so thought it was a repeat. Well it wasn't a repeat, I looked online and it was the first time this episode had been on. I even looked on Twitter where people were trying to guess who the characters were including Duck. Well, she gets voted out and removes the headpiece exactly as I had seen and it was Skin. Totally freaked me out, even my very sensible DH was a bit weirded out by how I knew. I spent a lot of time looking online and there had been no leaks by the papers etc but there hadn't been. I had 100% seen it before. Still can't explain it.
@HeadfirstForHalos I had exactly the same.

I swear that before the show was first released they showed a clip as part of a montage of “new shows coming later this year” that showed Skin taking off the duck headpiece. I remember thinking at the time that the show looked interesting. But I was then very confused at all of the rest of the material that followed in later weeks build up which said that no one knew who the singers were.

I have to conclude that there was one short clip that was included in a montage by mistake. Maybe you saw the same clip?

I once yawned and at the exact moment I opened my mouth to the exact moment I closed it the sound of a motorcycle revving sounded outside, for a solid moment my brain thought I had made that sound

When I was about 6 or 7 (so over 50 years ago) we were staying with my nana in Liverpool and went to the local park. Somehow I lost my watch (a cheap Timex one) in the park, but when we were walking back to her house a few minutes later I found a £5 note on the pavement that was more than enough to pay for a new watch.

@TellMeMrSiegal

In 2009 I was driving along the M5 near Bristol when really clearly in my head was repeated the phrase “bag of bones, bag of bones, bag of bones.” It was so weird as it was said in a very specific rhythm and I actually posted on Facebook about it.

A few weeks later they found poor Melanie Hall’s remains in bin bags next to the motorway at that spot. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw that exact phrase on all the headlines... “bag of bones”.

How the hell do these things happen?!

@DinosApple

I was sun bathing in the garden as a teen and some sparrows started up a bit of a racket. Not unusual, but I lazily opened my eyes and saw them hopping about in the gutter above my parents windows. There was 2 or 3 of them.

I shut my eyes again and kind of zoned out, and was imagining what they were chattering about. It sounded like they were arguing about how to dispose of a body. Overactive imagination, and too much midsummer murders probably...
Then there was a thud and the sparrows all stopped. They'd manoeuvred a dead bird out of a nest in the gutter and it had fallen to the ground.

My mum thought I was nuts when I told her Grin.

I lived with my best friend in Edinburgh in a top floor flat.
I came home from work one day and was walking up the stairs reading a load of graffiti that had been added, it was big black arrows leading up the stairs to the flat opposite ours and read stuff like "get your heroin here" "a dealer lives here --->" etc.
I went in and asked her if shed seen it and said that the fella opposite was going to go nuts and wondered if he really was a dealer and who he had irritated. She went out to have a nose, came back in and asked me if I was taking the pee. She said there were no arrows, no graffiti and I must have imagined it. I went to go show her, and sure enough, nothing.

Following morning she left to go to work and I was still in the flat as working later, she came flying back into the kitchen and said that there was the exact graffiti I had described all over the stairwell inc the black arrows. She asked if I'd put it there myself and was I on a wind up (of course not!)
Sure enough the graffiti I had read all the way up the stairs that wasn't there at the time had materialised overnight. I have no explanation.

@Pugsnotdrugs101 my Dad sent me text messages after he died. There was nothing actually in the message, it was blank, but I got three messages the same night from
"Dad Mobile". I was sleeping in a room with his ashes in it at the time (long story). At the time the messages were sent his phone was in a drawer at my Mums and out of charge.

buzz91 · 17/01/2022 13:07

When I was a 10, a friend who’d moved away the year before was coming to visit, we’d kept in touch as pen pals, it wasn’t long till he was due and we got a phone call, it was his mum saying they were running late, they’d be there soon. Once they arrived his mum apologised for them being late, my mum said it was fine thanks for phoning, his mum said they hadn’t phoned as they hadn’t been able to find our number…

@Kennykenkencat

I have always had a recurring dream. It is of a Bavarian looking town but it is surrounded by desert. In my dream I am during the day time out side the edges of town looking on to the backs of buildings or in the town with everyone going about their lives or it is evening time and I am in the town square where there is a cafe and I sit at one of the metal tables and there is music and dancing.

I have had this dream on and off since I was little. I told my mother about this strange town I would regularly dream about and was told I had a fanciful imagination.

A few years ago after I once again dreamed of the town I googled if such a place existed or if there was a logical explanation of why I kept dreaming about this strange town

It made me feel really weird that a place like I had dreamed about existed many years ago.

I sometimes wonder if our memories are passed down through our dna because I have both the different types of heritage that could place part of my family in that type of area

So this place did exist?

When DS1 was little, money was pretty tight, we lived for the pennies and was very careful with out money.

What helped us get by was my magic coat. I've no idea how it happened but at least weekly I'd put my hands into the pockets there would be £2-£4 worth of loose change in there. It would be the amount that would help get us a bit more food shopping that week, so it was money I then went off and spent and it somehow refilled again before the next shopping trip.

DH thought I was mad so I made him keep check with me too and sure enough he was surprised too

I went to sleepover at a friend's house as a teen. Was wearing a new necklace, friend complimented me on it. I took it off at night to sleep.

Next day when my dad collected me we couldn't find it anywhere so I left and friend said she'd bring it to school when she found it.

I got home, went straight upstairs to my bedroom and the necklace was sitting on my dressing table chair. No explanation how it could possibly have got from friends house to mine.

Adarajames · 17/01/2022 15:24

I was banned from turning lights on / off when in a bad mood as I always blew them up, although sometimes they would blow up from me just going into the room and not actually touching the switches at all

sweetbutapshyco · 17/01/2022 15:43

So her me out. I have had experiences like this as well. In islam we also believe in Jinn. It is quite believable that we are not the only creatures on the earth. There are animals, birds etc that we can see but there are also the ones who we can't see, and they share the same space with us. Normally they carry on with their lives and don't interact with ours but sometimes they either get fond of a person or dislike someones. And some times they tend to mess with us because they just want to.

Did you used to regularly leave your coat hung up somewhere outside the home. e.g. church? I have, in the past, anonymously helped someone who was struggling by using that method Wink
TwittleBee · 17/01/2022 16:24

@StarsAreWishes I suppose the children's centre maybe, when I hung my coat up to get DS weighed etc? Or perhaps it was my Mum, I know she said she used to have similar when she was struggling as a single mother - loose change would suddenly appear to her.

That aside, that's a lovely thing you do and it's an idea I shall also take on board if I am in that position to pay it forward

Verv · 17/01/2022 16:28

@CurryLover55

zurala I’m exactly the same - every watch I’ve ever had always runs slow! And I know that often it’s not the battery because it still happens with brand new ones or ones where the battery has just been changed.
Some people have a higher than average magnetic field which messes up both timekeeping of watches and battery life if they are quartz. Its an odd phenomenon. Airport scanners / speakers etc have the same effect on them.
