To ask your "glitch in the matrix" moment?

Hello,

I had a glitch in the matrix last night whilst dying my hair, I took the nozzle off the bottle and put it on the sink and then I mixed the dye etc and when I went to get the nozzle it was gone, I moved everything off the sink, looked on the floor but it was gone so I managed without and then once the hair dye was on I found the nozzle on the sink on top of something I'd moved and I swear it wasn't there before! Not a major event but it was a bit weird.

Do you have any glitch in the matrix stories? (Basically unexplained events)

@WhatTahw

The year I turned 43, my mum tuned 73, I was born in 1973 and she was born in 1943.
So your mum had you when she was 30 and, 30 years later, she was still 30 years older than you? Spooooooky…

@Susurrar

Not sure if this counts but it’s very odd. I have two very vivid memories from when I was one year old. The weird thing is that I remember both the situations as if I were an observer, not me. So I “saw” myself and the people around me. There are no pictures or recordings of either of those situations, yet I “remember” every single detail. It took me years to speak to my family members who were present at those events to confirm that what I remember is correct. To clarify, it wasn’t anything traumatic, just family stuff.
Same thing happened to me….

I was young,still in a cot and crawling.
I remember watching myself crawl into our lounge and my mum,auntie and cousin being flabbergasted at how I’d got out of the cot. Now,they have their guesses at how I’d managed it and they’re probably right but I just REMEMBER watching it happen from a different angle of the room to the doorway. I can still see what they were wearing and where they sat. So very odd

@Longcovid21 was it Bobby Jean by Bruce Springsteen I think?

Monimom · 14/01/2022 22:37

I had a vivid dream as a small child about the person I would marry. I especially remember the outfit they were wearing - tuxedo, very fancyGrin Fast forward 25+ years to PIL-to-be front room; there is a school portrait style photo of now DH in similar outfit, same hair, same smile. WOO.

A few years ago an old school friend went viral when he got on a plane and sat next to his "twin". I've seen this Grin
Proved my theory! 😂

I was sun bathing in the garden as a teen and some sparrows started up a bit of a racket.
Not unusual, but I lazily opened my eyes and saw them hopping about in the gutter above my parents windows. There was 2 or 3 of them.

I shut my eyes again and kind of zoned out, and was imagining what they were chattering about. It sounded like they were arguing about how to dispose of a body. Overactive imagination, and too much midsummer murders probably...
Then there was a thud and the sparrows all stopped. They'd manoeuvred a dead bird out of a nest in the gutter and it had fallen to the ground.

My mum thought I was nuts when I told her Grin.

My doppelganger moment came when on holiday in Spain in my 20s. I'd nipped away from the beach to go to the loo and when I came back, my sister and friends told me how my Spanish doppelganger had appeared when I left... looking exactly like me except at least a decade older with a baby on her hip. She was gone of course by the time I got back.

I remember my first glitchy feeling... I was about 8 or 9 in the back of the car going to school. Suddenly I knew exactly what the next person I saw was going to look like, and there he was walking up the road; an unremarkable looking middle-aged man, and I was excitedly saying "I knew what was going to happen, I knew that man was going to be there and what he was going to look like!"... unremarkable to anyone else, this moment; but I remember it so clearly.

Myself, my sister and my mum all often have dreams that come true. Me and my mum have both had ones where my granny appears and tells us something that's going to happen to one of the family. My latest was when my aunt was ill. I dreamt I was in granny's house, she told me that my aunty was going to heaven but that shortly after that my aunt's adult grandchild was going to heaven too. This was v upsetting and in the dream I could see the awful grief of the immediate family but also feel the peace that it was meant to be this way. I wrote it all down when I woke and it all happened in that order, first my aunt and then within months her grandchild. I like to think how happy they are there together.

One of my first "dreams" was so funny and I really had no idea it was prophetic. We were 15 and had exchange students staying, my friend was having a teen holiday romance with this German student and she was "in love". I had a vivid dream and when I came into class the next morning my friend was later than I was. "Wait til you hear the stupid dream I had last night!" I said, "I dreamt that Rachel HATED Sven (names changed) but that he'd bought her a present of a necklace... and then when he gave it to her she dumped him and he was crying! How stupid is that... she totally loves him!"
Next thing, in walked Rachel and threw her schoolbag down saying dramatically, "I can't STAND Sven!". We couldn't believe it, and he hadn't done anything wrong, she had just went off him overnight. A few days later (they were only here for a week... things move fast when you're a teenager!) we were having a leaving disco for the Germans. Sven and Rachel went out to the stairs... he produced a silver necklace he had bought her! She couldn't live a lie any longer and dumped him... and he started crying!!

There have been so many dreams since then, too many to recount- from dreaming that my friend's goldfish has died, to dreaming that someone was going to have an affair who later did... lots of specific things that came true. But, I actually don't think this type of stuff is necessarily "woo"...time isn't actually linear anyway, we just usually experience it so, but it's all part of the space/time illusion. The nature of reality is certainly weird and I'd love to know more about it, but in the meantime reading the stories on these threads will do!

@PaddleBoardingMomma

Knock at the door, went to answer it and there was an elderly man I had never seen before, he asked me if I had lived here long and did I know the previous residents as he was looking for them, I said I'm sorry I don't know anything about the previous owners and he looked very forlorn about that, my daughter came up behind me and said hello (nosey little thing she is) and then he left. Nothing out of the ordinary. My daughter said he was strange but she's little so she is about as tactful as a brick in the face but to be fair he was a little odd, but nothing I could put my finger on. A few seconds after I closed the door I hear a loud crash and look out to see the tree in a big pot by the door was tipped over and the planter cracked, I was livid and wondering why on earth he did it! I went back to check the ring camera footage and... it was 45 seconds of me and my daughter talking to no one, he wasn't there. And then the planter just falls over a little while after we close the door. I felt sick and hated living in that house afterwards, we moved eventually.
Woah!!

@419HLR

Had one a couple of weeks ago, was making myself a cup of tea then put the milk back in the fridge after using it. The doorbell rang so I answered it and when I came back to get my cup of tea the milk was beside my cup, thought it was weird but maybe I'd got distracted by the door and put it down instead of putting it away. Took it to the fridge, opened the door and there was the milk, i had 2 identical milks. We had definitely only bought one carton so I've no idea what happened.
That is proper glitchy!
Glindaswand · 15/01/2022 00:07

This was all real but felt glitchy if that makes sense.

I’m in the U.K. and was in our local park cooking sausages on a camping stove for mine & friends children. We finished and I was carrying a leftover sausage in the frying pan to give to my sisters dog (lives near park).

The sun was low in the sky and it was a hazy summer’s evening. We walked around a tree and there were 30 or so Indian ladies dancing in a circle.

The sausage in the frying pan, hazy summers eve & the 30 dancing ladies plunged me into another dimension somehow - it was kind of beautiful.

One evening in late August 1997 I went to bed early feeling really dizzy and unwell. No mobile phones, TV or radio. I slept fitfully and in the morning woke up and suddenly declared to my mum that I'd had a very odd dream about a princess who had died that night in a car in Paris.

Later that morning we learned the news about Diana.

@Purplependant222

Something I had forgotten about until this thread:

In 6th form we went on a trip to European capital city. We had snuck out the two nights once the teachers had gone to bed in taxis with some twenty something backpackers. The second night we drank way too much with the hope of saving money once we got out. We got a taxi to a club, paid entry and got one drink which was the end of my holiday cash. An hour later I hit a wall and wanted to leave but my friends didn’t. I left the club (in the city centre), completely forgot we had got a taxi and walked back to the hostel. But the hostel was a good 8-10 miles away and as it was an organised tour to museums/landmarks we didn’t have a feel to the city at all.

I had been walking for hours when I suddenly sobered up and realised that I was in a deserted industrial/warehouse area without a clue where I was and wtf moment. I was walking around with not a soul around until I stumbled on 10-15 men dressed as naive americans(?) with windpipes/feathers just standing around (presumed they were waiting for a lift to go to an event). I tried asking if I could borrow a phone/google but none of them had any idea what I was talking about (they must have known I was a lost English 16 year old in going out clothes in an industrial area) - even if I had used google maps all I had to go on was a hostel near to the equivalent of a Tesco express. I had absolutely no idea how to find the hostel as I didn’t know the address/area/local landmarks/we had always just stepped onto the coach to get onto the highway to get into the city.

As I had nothing to go on, no money, no phone, shoes had fallen apart, really cold and no address apart from ‘city name’ youth hostel I decided that I had to try to find a main road to hope to find a passing police car. That moment I was 100% sure I’d be kicked out of 6th form and all hell would be let loose with either my parents been called to fly out as I’d miss my flight home or a teacher would have to stay behind.

I staggered around trying to get off this industrial area to find a cross section with the start of a residential area with the hostel sitting 20m away.

Let myself into our dorm, laid on my bed for 5 minutes wondering how on earth I had got back, who were these natives (even the young ones didn’t seem to understand what google was, or even really acknowledge me), how had I stumbled on this huge industrial area when the hostel seemed to be surrounded by traditional apartments and how on earth had I walked miles in the right direction. We were flying back to the U.K. that morning and we were up packing 30 minutes later to leave. We had spent the majority of the trip sitting on the hostel terrace (sneakily) drinking surrounded by at least 6+ storey old apartment buildings. All the photos look like we were in the centre of a built up residential area.

I swear I wasn’t on drugs, just drunk and I remember leaving the club and walking alone - definitely alone and never spoke to anyone apart from the natives. Didn’t realise I was lost nor had a clue that I was just ‘walking’ cluelessly until getting to the industrial area. How on earth did I get back?

This sounds like maybe someone spiked you, or you done drugs and totally forgot about it, perhaps?

When my gran died my sister & I were at home while our mum was at the funeral directors about 50 miles away. My sister & I were in my bedroom upstairs (only ones in the house) and we thought we heard the front door being closed, quite loudly too! We were a bit worried as the door hadn't been left open but we checked downstairs and no one was there. Anyway fast forward to my mum coming back from funeral directors and she started telling us about how she was sitting in a room and the door was left open, there was no windows in the room or a draught but randomly the door just slammed itself shut! Instantly me and my sister told mum about us hearing the door closing and it turns out it happened at the same time of day!

CurryWurstUndPommes · 15/01/2022 00:30

Also on 9.11.2001 I was on a remote beach in Corfu with a then boyfriend. There was a beach bar for locals so we wandered up to it, just at the moment that news was coming through from New York in the TV above the bar. The news was being read in Greek and the screen titles were in Greek so we didn't understand it and only had the pictures to go on.

Moments after, I turned to then boyfriend and apropos of nothing said "George Bush is going to create a prison in Cuba, torture all the suspects and not put them on trial".

He scoffed and told me I was being ridiculous.

I told him that a black president would come next and have to sort it all out.

@nettytree

Growing up I was very fond of one of my uncles. Then one day he had changed. It was like in a soap when a character had been recast. It was never the same after that.
Ooh this is so freaky...Please give is more details? Did he look different? Mannerisms changed? Can you compare pre- and post-change photos?!

On New Year's Day in 2020 I woke up having had a very vivid dream that by the end of the year everyone would be wearing a face covering of some kind because of a deadly disease in the air.

Buytoomuchonebay · 15/01/2022 00:45

Years ago my grandad had a picture of wild horses running away from a forest fire-it bugged him that it was painted on the ‘wrong’ side of the canvas
It was a lovely picture with a cheap plastic frame but was held onto the wall with wire on the back of it and a nail in the wall
Every couple of months it would fall off the wall-wire and nail both fine-we’d check every time
Within the hour,we’d get a call to say someone had died
I’ll never forget it falling off and the phone rang within the minute-our family dog had died
Again,it just seemed to lift itself off the wall,fell down undamaged and we got a call to say the neighbour had died
This happened many times over the years-people and animals

Believe it or not,as a child it was normal for this to happen and you’d just have to brace yourself for the phone to ring,which it would and we’d find out who’d died
My grandad ended up in a home and my fathers sister (I refuse to call that old bag my aunt) threw it in a skip along with everything else he owned so it’s lost forever now

dontsaythj · 15/01/2022 00:56

@CurryWurstUndPommes Guantanamo is still operational. There are still prisoners held there without trial. In what way did Obama, "sort it out"?

My story:

I was living in university halls. I woke up suddenly very early one morning with my chest pounding and a horrible feeling of dread. I remembered that my room door wasn't locked and I felt compelled to do it immediately.

I had such a strong feeling of fear and something being wrong that I even tried to move quietly in my room as I got up from the bed. As I was doing so, I could hear footsteps approaching.

I turned the key in the lock as quietly as I could, and sat down on the bed staring at the door handle. The footsteps stopped directly outside my door.

I then saw the handle slowly turn. When they saw that it was locked, they turned around and left towards the stairs out of the building.

I have no idea who it was, what their intentions were. I did try to catch a glimpse of the person leaving once they were at the bottom of the stairs, but I didn't manage to see them.

I vividly remember the sense of dread and knowing that I had to lock the door as soon as I woke up.

CurryWurstUndPommes · 15/01/2022 01:02

@dontsaythj I know it's not "sorted out" as such (understatement) but maybe it was the "black President" bit which stayed in my mind.

When I was a teen I was desperate for a sibling, I would plead with my DM but it was always an adamant no. Her partner at the time had fertility issues too which made it unlikely it would ever happen. However one day she walked into my room with a positive pregnancy test and she was in total shock (but I was thrilled Grin)

I was sorting out some drawers a couple of years ago and found an old phone of mine. On the phone was a text I had sent to my DM on Christmas eve saying ‘please have another baby’ (I have no idea why I sent the text as we live in the same house)

Anyway my sister was born exactly a year after I had sent the text on Christmas Eve Shock

HappyDays40 · 15/01/2022 03:37

We were at my friend's sons birthday party just before Christmas. On the way my son said mummy we need to stop and buy a card for Anna (name changed). When I asked him why he said that although she doesn't know yet she is having a girl baby. We can tell her as a surprise for Christmas! Smile
I told her and she laughed it off saying she didn't want any more . Christmas day a text message tells me she having an unexpected baby. 20 week scan today and it's a girl Grin
