To ask your "glitch in the matrix" moment?

Hello,

I had a glitch in the matrix last night whilst dying my hair, I took the nozzle off the bottle and put it on the sink and then I mixed the dye etc and when I went to get the nozzle it was gone, I moved everything off the sink, looked on the floor but it was gone so I managed without and then once the hair dye was on I found the nozzle on the sink on top of something I'd moved and I swear it wasn't there before! Not a major event but it was a bit weird.

Do you have any glitch in the matrix stories? (Basically unexplained events)

I picked up some clothes to iron, put them on the floor in the kitchen. Went to pick them off the floor and they'd vanished. They were back where they originally were.
Logically I must have imagined putting them in the kitchen.. but it felt so real!

I've also had the back door be unlocked after I locked it and checked it was locked. That one spooked me.

This isn’t that freaky, just a random coincidence, but a few years ago a friend and I got the bus into town together to do some Christmas shopping. During the journey she was trying to remember the name of a film, it was driving her mad. She started describing a scene from it in the hope I could remember it but from what she was describing I didn’t think I’d seen it, it wasn’t ringing any bells, so I was no help.

A couple of hours later we walked into HMV because I wanted to get a CD for my aunt and my friend stopped dead: there on the video screens playing behind the tills was the exact scene she had been trying to describe.

(Turns out the film was Finding Nemo and I hadn’t seen it at that point Grin)

I’ve had a couple of premonitions in my life. The first one has come true, the second one I’m still waiting on.

Was driving home from work about 10 years ago, listening to the radio. Song came on and I pressed to change to the next channel to listen to something else. It was the exact same song, at the exact same point. One channel was BBC radio and the other was a local commercial station. I flicked back and forth between them a few times to check and yep, same song, exactly same timing. It wasn't a current song from their "new music" playlist either, it was an old Eminem song from early 2000s!

A few strange things happened to me as a child. When I was about 8 years old, playing the piano with a friend, the piano played a couple of really creepy notes.....by itself. No joking; both me and my friend heard it, and at the time it played our fingers weren't on the keyboard. I told her I thought it sounded like an ambulance.

She went home to find that her grandad had become ill and been taken to hospital in an ambulance.

@AngelinaFibres

We lost the remote control for the tv . Searched and searched for it. Had to give up and order a replacement. The delivery man knocked on the door. I went and got the parcel which had the new remote in it. Went back into the living room. Original remote control was on the floor in the middle of the room . I had just left thst room .It wasn't there when I left.I cannot explain it. Made the hairs stand up on the back of my neck

This has happened to us too. Apart from ordering a new one as ours turned up later that day. Right in the middle of the floor. We had both been looking for it.

I've had a couple of occasions where I've seen a complete stranger in two entirely different locations within a couple of days. E.g. I saw someone on a crowded train (a good looking enough man that I spent some time gazing at him!) and then again a coupe of days later in an entirely different location, nowhere near the start or end point of the train journey. That kind of thing has happened to me a couple of times and makes me feel like I'm in a Truman show type thing with a limited number of extras.

Placemarking, this is fascinating

I was moving house, packed everything carefully, and even went back to clean and check over the old house to make certain nothing was left behind. When I unpacked the cutlery at the new house, three forks were missing. I looked everywhere for them, and was upset about it, because the set had been a gift from my dad years before - so I bought three replacements from the manufacturer. When I was moving from that house to the one I'm in now, I went to pack the cutlery away - there'd been 6 forks in the drawer that morning, now there were only 3! They never turned up and I had to buy more replacements.

Oh mines similar to the baby socks. As a child I had one of the those little silver bangles that babies/children often get as christening gifts. I was at my grandparents and reaching down the side of the sofa and it comes off. My mum and grandparents tried getting it out no such look. Few years later they replace the sofa and my granddad says finally he’ll get it out and basically takes said sofa to pieces in the garden (was very old, they’d had it years) absolutely no sign of my bracelet. Fast forward to another new sofa more than 10 years later this time they donate the old one to a family friend who turns up a few days later with my bracelet they found down the side of the sofa.
Only it was never lost down that sofa! We all even remember being stood in the garden as my grandad took the sofa apart expecting it to be there.

I've told this story on here before... ¦-
In the early 1980s my Dad did a charity gypsy caravan drive with a friend... Every night Dad used to walk to a phone box and ring my Mum.
One particular night Dad walked home a different way, our dog was trotting ahead of Dad and stopped suddenly and growled. Heckles up the whole works... Dad whistled and called but dog wouldn't budge... Dad looked in the ditches both sides..Nothing. In the end Dad picked the dog up and carried him back, still growling... Dog was still growling when Dad sent to sleep.
In the morning Dad and his friend got up at dawn and harnessed up the horses (Dad had one in the shafts and on on the side) and set off..
As they were driving past where the dog had stopped the horses stopped at exactly the same spot. Dad said he had a hell of a job getting them past.. Something had happened there that the animals could sense and it proper put the wind up Dad!

16 years ago I was due to go to the west coast of the US to visit my sister, really looking forward to seeing her.

The night before the early flight I put my suitcase in the hall with tickets & passport on top. I checked the tickets & passports more than once & went to bed. I didn’t really sleep so decided I’d go to the airport early. Made tea, saw tickets & passport again, changed time of my taxi. Drank tea in kitchen.

In the hall again & my passport had disappeared. I have no furniture in the hall & live alone. I hunted high & low & could not find it. The taxi driver even helped me. Eventually had to say that’s that I can’t go.

I sat on the end of the stairs & cried with frustration. At that moment it struck me that I had to go to the hospital where my father was. He had been ill but was due to be discharged that day. I arrived & waited in reception to see if I was allowed up to the ward. My mother & brother arrived, they’d been told that my dad had taken a turn & was now dying.
He died the following afternoon . He kept asking for my sister & we told him she was coming. She missed him by minutes.

About 2 weeks after the funeral my passport was on the hall floor when I returned from work.

I was in holiday a number of years ago. Sitting outside people watching. A very distinctive man was sitting opposite. His face literally turned into pieces, all scaly reptile like and then changed into a completely different human face.

Nothing like this has ever happened to me before or after. It was so weird and I had such a horrible feeling that I grabbed my things and ran.

I think about it sometimes and try and think of a sensible explanation but I just can't explain it

On my last day moving out of uni, I packed all my bags and emptied the whole room. Nothing was left except empty wardrobes, desk, beds with mattresses and no bedding. Even my bags had all been sent down and I had a pair of clothes, a towel, a hairbrush and an almost wasted bar of soap so I could wash and get changed.
I changed my clothes and brushed my hair and then turned around to pick up my clothes that I'd just taken off and go down and they'd gone. I looked everywhere- under the bed, under the mattress, behind the wardrobe, everywhere and just couldn't find them. I ended up leaving without them and even when I got home and unpacked my bags (that were downstairs at the time anyway) I couldn't find them.
They dissappeared into thin air.
Still remember them. A white dress with black artistic splodges and a pair of black trousers. It was 30+ years ago.

In another childhood incident my friend and I were playing a word game. I can't remember the name of it but you shook a plastic sealed container with dice in it; the dice had letters of the alphabet on the sides. You then made words out of the combinations that had landed, with the winner obviously being the one with the most words.

We played this and at the end when we were checking our words we both noticed that the words we'd first noted contained letters that were no longer shown in the game.

Basically the game had started with some letters and then half way through the letters had changed without being shaken and without either of us touching the game; we were busy writing out answers.

We were so frightened we never played it again.

Back in 2001, I was flush with money and I bought my mother some sold gold clip -n heart earrings. They had very comfortable clips and she loved them and wore them all the time for a couple of years.
One day, one of them came off in her car when she was driving. We went though the car and painstakingly searched for it, but never found it. It wasn't there.

FIVE YEARS later,
I got on a Virgin train from Newcastle to York for a work meeting.
As I sat down, I saw something shining on the carpeted floor, picked it up and it was an earring - the missing earring. Inside it had the inscription "Love, S x" which I had paid to have put on her earrings.

TheChip · 12/01/2022 20:04

I typed a message to a friend on discord. Knocked discord off my phone by accident and opened straight back up again. Literally less than 5 seconds. She had not only replied, but according to the time stamps, she had replied 5 minutes ago in response to my message that was sent 7 minutes ago!
No way in hell had 7 minutes passed since I sent that message. I accidentally knocked my phone to where the page dropped. It was a case of reopening it. It still baffles me to this day. It was only minutes but howwwww? Not even enough to time claim alien abduction as the cause!

TheChip · 12/01/2022 20:06

She also claimed that the timing was right on her end. That it was 5 minutes ago when she responded. So it wasn't just my time stamps going funny.

Whichcatthatcat · 12/01/2022 20:09

It was a hot summer and my fingers had swelled up a little, so I took my engagement and wedding ring off, and left them on my bedside table.
I went to sleep. At some point in the night I woke up to take a sip of water that was on the table. I accidentally knocked the rings on the floor.
As I was so tired I thought I'd pick them up in the morning.

By the morning the engagement ring was there, but the wedding ring had vanished.
Searched everywhere, moved the table and the bed, but it never reappeared.

I've searched several more times over the years, but it's never turned up.

I had one just a week ago! We were about to go out for the day and my neighbour had come round to to see us to double check what she needs to do with our dog whilst we're out (it was just to agree what time to let him out to pee).

She left and I realised I hadn't given her the key. Couldn't find it anywhere. In the end had to lock the house and run my DH's key to her (we currently only have two keys). When I got to her door, she said I had just given the key to her - with a look of Hmm on her face Grin. I have no recollection of handing the key to her at all. It's completely blank.

When we first moved to where we are now, we saw an older man in a hi-viz coat walking along a country road we were driving along.

The following weekend, out for a drive, we saw him again, on the same road, but different day and time.

We used to see him often in the same road, but on a variety of days and times.

What were the chances of him taking a walk at the same time as we were driving, when it wasn’t a regular day and time?
