Is this positive?!

I’ve name changed for this. I am due in hospital tomorrow for a colposcopy because of periods being all over the place. Just decided to do a pregnancy test just to be on the safe side.
DH and I were told earlier this year it was very unlikely we could conceive due to my age and low AMH levels.

Was not expecting this. I’m not going nuts am I? Is this positive? Is there any way it could be wrong?

DH is at work & I can’t talk to him for a couple of hours. Am shaking.

Is this positive?!

Took me awhile to find this, but...OH MY DEAR! What a wonderful thing for you! LOL, I have to ask...did your cat start being very affectionate in the weeks before you took the test? I've had any number of friends who actually took tests because their cats suddenly became very interested in them, and very "touchy-feely". They can smell the hormonal changes, and often react to them.

What a lovely thread OP,congratulations.

It will be nice to have something to look back on in a few years.

Yes please keep this thread going.

My first baby was a complete shock and not planned. It’s really strange having a surprise pregnancy, but kind of nice as it’s nature taking it out of your hands.

Fartootiredtobeawake · 12/02/2022 00:40

Just seen this thread and massive congratulations! I has our only child DD at 43 after 5 consecutive miscarriages and we thought we would be childless.
This post has made me feel so happy for you.

nettie434 · 12/02/2022 01:02

What a lovely thread. When I saw the title I thought it was going to be about Covid. This is much nicer! Glad all is going well omgwhatthehell.

Omgwhatthehell · 12/02/2022 08:55

@Chichimcgee I think I will still have some doubt as to whether it’s real right up until the last week too, haha!

@Mamanyt Our cat is normally quite affectionate with me. He likes DH but I’m definitely ‘his person’. Even so, it has felt like he has been even more so over the past few months.
He wants to be sitting on me a lot of the time! DH has said “What’s he going to do when you’re holding the baby?” but I think he’ll work out that the baby is part of the family.

Just found this thread, so happy for you OP!

Ironingoutthecreases · 13/02/2022 11:50

What a wonderful, uplifting thread. MN at its best. Huge congratulations to you and your DP, sounds like you’re growing that baby of yours really well.

allmysons · 23/02/2022 21:33

Thanks for the updates op. I have been thinking of you and am so pleased it's going well. I loved being pregnant despite horrific morning sickness (hopefully it will get better for you as it did for me).
Would love to hear more xx

Omgwhatthehell · 24/02/2022 19:41

Hi everyone.
I’m happy to report that my sickness tailed off at about 16 weeks. Unfortunately I then got Covid a week ago. I have been laid up, feeling very rough for a few days, but now am mainly just tired.
DH has somehow not got it and has been in the spare room, well away, but bringing me food and drink bless him.
I’m crossing fingers for a clear lateral flow any day soon!

Hope you're feeling better OP. I had covid last week too and it was rotten (and I'm not pregnant!).

What a lovely thread this is. I wish you well.

Omgwhatthehell · 24/02/2022 19:58

@watchtheglitterdustswirl it’s funny how differently it affects people isn’t it?
I felt terrible! I hope you’re feeling better.

My midwife kept checking in and although sympathetic she didn’t seem concerned by my symptoms, so that was reassuring.

Hope you are feeling much better soon, and your next LFT is negative! It’s good to hear your sickness has stopped. Now it’s the time for you to bloom, hope you can enjoy it. Looking forward to your lovely updates. Take care. 😘🌺

Spooked102 · 24/02/2022 21:12

Did you find out what your having? Reading your comments I say girl as I had the same symptoms x

Omgwhatthehell · 24/02/2022 21:23

We don’t know what we’re having yet @Spooked102
Most people on the thread have guessed girl! We’ll find out in a few weeks at the 20 week scan.

@Omgwhatthehell whenever I feel disillusioned and sad with the state of the world, your thread seems to find me, and always cheers me up! So sorry to hear you've been struck down by the dreaded rona, hope you get better soon! Keep us all updated Flowers

AryaStarkWolf · 25/02/2022 10:07

Glad everything is going well OP, so happy for you

Omgwhatthehell · 25/02/2022 14:00

I'm glad this has cheered you up @Mulhollandmagoo

I'm feeling a bit down in the dumps today as I did a lateral flow test and it is still quite strongly positive on day 7. I was really hoping to get out and about this weekend.
With everything going on in the world I feel pathetic being a bit upset. I'm going to give myself a shake and take it as a sign that I need to continue to rest and maybe work on a craft project.

Don't be so hard on yourself op. That's the beauty of pregnancy hormones, a roller coaster of emotions 🤣🤣 try to use this time to read a favorite book/relax whilst you have the valid excuse of covid 🙌🙌

minmooch · 09/03/2022 18:17

How are you doing @Omgwhatthehell

Omgwhatthehell · 15/03/2022 16:33

Sorry @minmooch I somehow totally missed that notification.
All is good here thank you.

In fact I have an update for you all. We have had our 20 week scan, all is looking good and Baby OMG is a boy!
We are thrilled. DH and I are just here discussing boys names.

I get an extra scan because I had covid so we will have a scan about every 6ish weeks now until week 37.

I am feeling loads better now I've recovered from Covid. I have a visible bump, although friends have told me it's "tiny". Not helpful!
I can feel him moving around quite a bit now.

I have definitely started the pregnancy waddle and I get out of breath while walking and talking. I'm not sure if thats pregnancy or Covid, or a bit of both. If I walk a long way I feel so big already it's hard to believe I'm only half way!
