Is this positive?!

I’ve name changed for this. I am due in hospital tomorrow for a colposcopy because of periods being all over the place. Just decided to do a pregnancy test just to be on the safe side.
DH and I were told earlier this year it was very unlikely we could conceive due to my age and low AMH levels.

Was not expecting this. I’m not going nuts am I? Is this positive? Is there any way it could be wrong?

DH is at work & I can’t talk to him for a couple of hours. Am shaking.

Is this positive?!

Such a lovely and happy thread. Belated congratulations OP.

Angrymum22 · 11/02/2022 20:34

Congratulations OP, just seen this thread. I was 40 when DS now 17 was born. I had fertility problems and had multiple miscarriages between age 32 and 40. We had decided against IVF and decided to get on with our lives. We booked a major holiday for my 40th birthday and I found out I was pregnant just before we went away. My best friend from cancer liege also went through the same.
It’s a big shock but a wonderful journey. Wishing you both happiness and a healthy pregnancy.
I thought I would be the oldest mum ever but it turns out that a lot of women are leaving it later. Many of DS friends parents are older and most of our family had children in their mid thirties so all of DS’s cousins are in there late teens and early twenties.
Life really does begin at 40 for some of us.

Chichimcgee · 11/02/2022 20:41

Congratulations!!

I was told I’d never have more children when my son was young and I’m 38 weeks, I’m so happy for you!
Had no sickness with my son but lots of nausea and vomiting up to about 30 weeks with this one who is a baby girl

GettingItOutThere · 11/02/2022 20:45

ahhh what a lovely thread. Congratulations OP and I hope you start feeling less sick soon!!

I was very sick in pregnancy 1, through to about 20 weeks (sorry!), and by that I mean head down the toilet for most of the day

LankylegsFromOz · 11/02/2022 20:45

Congratulations OP! We had our surprise 2nd when I was 42 and my DS was 6.5 years old. She is an absolute delight 😊

Colouringaddict · 11/02/2022 20:50

So so happy for you both. Enjoy this special time if you get passed the sickness xx

This is LOVELY. OP if you live near Wimbledon DM me, I run antenatal classes and this is the best story xx

rosewater20 · 11/02/2022 21:51

This is my favourite mumsnet thread. Such happy news! I found out that I am pregnant a couple days after you and so we have roughly the same due date! I've also had horrific sickness that hasn't ended completely in my 2nd trimester.

Juniper68 · 11/02/2022 21:58

What a lovely thing to read Smile

I think you'll be needing another thread!

Dimondsareforever · 11/02/2022 21:59

Congratulations op!

Mumofboys109 · 11/02/2022 22:01

I’m not sure what your colposcopy is for but do get the pregnancy confirmed because there are gynae conditions that can produce false human gandotrophin levels. Unlikely but a possibility. Go get a
Scan :-) congratulations xx

Juniper68 · 11/02/2022 22:06

Think you may have missed some....

Bellagio40 · 11/02/2022 22:07

What an amazing thread. Congratulations OP! Such wonderful news. I conceived naturally at 41 and was 42 when he was born and everything was absolutely fine. I think you are having a little girl.. Can’t wait for the updates. It’s so great to read a happy thread.

MidgeKiller1 · 11/02/2022 22:07

I’ve had such a rubbish day at work and your thread has cheered me up and made me smile OP! Huge congratulations to you and your husband 🎉🎉🎉

Grayday · 11/02/2022 22:08

That looks more positive than any I ever got with those, I had to spend out on a clear blue to get a result.

Congratulations!!

Itsalmostanaccessory · 11/02/2022 22:11

So delighted for you @Omgwhatthehell. I love that one of your friends had to sit on the floor from the shock - they must be so happy for you. Sending positive vibes to you xx

Omgwhatthehell · 11/02/2022 22:36

@Mumofboys109 don’t worry, it’s definitely a baby! I’ve seen it on scans twice now Grin
