Stuff you think must happen to other people - but can't risk asking?

Anyone else have stuff happen to you that must happen to others.

But you can't really ask because what if they say "NO! How weird!" And then you can never talk to that person again. Wink

So I'm bringing it to the anonymity of Mumsnet.

I'd love to hear other peoples. And will start off.

  • whenever I wash my hair in the shower (I have long hair) loose hairs wash down my back and end up in my bum crack. End of my shower I have to check there's no hair left.

I can't be alone in this grossness! (Or can I)

@MisiSam

Sometimes I will get a pain like someone has stabbed me up the bum, only lasts a second and it's really sharp!
@MisiSam I get that right above the bum!
burnoutbabe · 03/02/2021 13:37

The thread here on how gussets in pants are never in the right place (for positioning of say a pant liner) and that most women have the liner much higher up.

I just assumed I was built a bit differently!

babbaloushka · 03/02/2021 13:37

@Baublebox

Does anyone elses vagina store up bath water and then release it at some time after you have gotten out of the bath (usually just after you have put clean pyjamas on)? Or do I just have a massive fanny?
YES. I swear sometimes it's held in until ive dried and put my dressing gown on, or sat on my bed.

Also love digging gunk out from under my nails. Sometimes it smells.

Did you poo whilst giving birth? Key thought of mine being due in April with first baby. The stats are high for this from what I hear but I can't really ask haha!
Yep apparently I did according to the lovely husband😂 Had a normal birth, midwifes just grabbed the square mat type thing and threw it away, I was completely obliviousb
HowQuickly · 03/02/2021 13:38

I have a little goatee which embarrasses me so much, My DM helpfully said 'I've never had facial hair'.

But I consoled myself that considering there are enough advertisements out there with people using hair removal devices on their faces it must be relatively common....

Nobody said that I did, but I did feel the poor midwife wiping in that area. I think that's the best way of handling it, clear it up and move on!

@Thisisworsethananticpated

I don’t think anyone gives birth vaginally without shitting !!! Happy to be proved wrong !
Nope, you're wrong
TellingBone · 03/02/2021 13:40

I frequently swallow my own saliva and it goes down the wrong way causing a coughing fit. Yep - I cannot manage my own saliva. I feel such a FOOL.

diddl · 03/02/2021 13:40

No to the hair in bum but I did poo whilst giving birth & my contractions presented as bum pains!

MolyHolyGuacamole · 03/02/2021 13:40

@hauntedvagina

Every so often I wake up to a two / three inch hair growing out of the middle of my forehead.

I wear make up daily and have a good skin care routine so I'd notice it if it had been growing for a while or had been lurking under a spot.

I have one coming it the corner of the inside of my eye? I haven't dared try to get rid of it!
daisyjgrey · 03/02/2021 13:41

@FoxyTheFox

Does anyone else just not grow body hair? I have hair on my arms and legs but my bikini line is basically sporadic fluff and I don't get any hair at all under my arms. Am I a mutant?
I'm the same. Couldn't grow a full bush if I tried.

You are lucky
Flippyferloppy · 03/02/2021 13:42

"Stuff"(ahem) falling out of you after sex. With me it always seems to happen just as I step out of the shower, after washing and drying myself.

Happens to me too!

Me too. It always takes me ages to clear it as well, lots of dramatic coughing. I choke quite often actually
Imissthegym · 03/02/2021 13:45

There was a thread about achy fannies the other day and everyone told the poster they must have a prolapse. I get this but I don’t have a prolapse so I presume it’s everything being a bit looser post kids?

I pooed with my first. With my second I spent a lot of early labour shitting and being sick and the midwives were like “she’s having a clear out, baby won’t be long”.

I also grow eyelashes in the corner of my eyes. I have to pluck them out. I’ve not met anyone else that does that.

I do this all the time - it’s a nightmare at the moment, one cough in Sainsbury’s & everyone looks at you like you’ve got the plague!
Osirus · 03/02/2021 13:46

I had a C section and didn’t poo myself. I assume it is a much less likely hazard with a C section!

goodwinter · 03/02/2021 13:46

@ILoveAnOwl

Sometimes I remember an event from the past and I physically inhale with the shame of it. Nothing bad, just mortifying things where I was a knob. They bring me physical pain.
I have a similar thing! If I remember something embarrassing or anxiety-causing, I often make an involuntary noise/movement. It's so strange. Even trying to fall asleep I'll end up doing a little tiny squeal or shudder 😬
sarahC40 · 03/02/2021 13:46

Ooh javelin arse - I get that! Horrible. Stealing that name for it

I was once talking to my boss and this happened, except with air. I choked on my own breath.

I had to hang up and go and splutter and heave in the toilet, it was so embarrassing! About six people turned round concerned Blush

Dinasaurcatcher · 03/02/2021 13:47

Yes to fanny daggers and arse daggers, eye bogies (and nose ones), hairs in arse crack and and I too have a fanny like a camel when it comes to bath water

MolyHolyGuacamole · 03/02/2021 13:47

@Gliblet

One of the things I've found reassuring on MN is the conversations about who you are in your imaginary life Grin I genuinely used to wonder if anyone else had a fairly carefully crafted fantasy life alongside their normal one but it's not really something you ask over coffee at work...
I'm incredibly rich and don't work in mine 😂
Tigertealeaves · 03/02/2021 13:48

Does anyone else bite bits off the inside of their mouth? I've been doing it for 20 years.

PowerhousePatty · 03/02/2021 13:48

Sometimes (maybe once a month) I open my mouth to speak or yawn and a spray of saliva comes out. I don’t know how it happens and can’t replicate it so I don’t know when it will happen which can be embarrassing at times!
