Planning to take the boat out after work (first time in ages). Uncovered the boat, five minutes later noticed the cover moving...

He then emerged, hissed at me and slapped my leg. No manners at all

I think the heat got to Mrs Grumpy. There is no other explanation for such a turnabout.

I'm less than impressed with TC currently for other reasons too.
We've seen him going into the boat under the cover fairly regularly. Having now got the boat out we've realised he's been pissing on the bimini cover that was inside. 🤮

Oh dear ... I'm on team TC for the first offence but even I am struggling to say anything other than 'naughty boy!' for the second.

Agreed. He doesn't often get inside and we really don't know how he did today (possibly via an open kitchen window?). We think he had eaten our cats' food and also knocked over a bag of dried food on a shelf.

My cats were in and just studiously ignored him. (Hopeless buggers )

Of course ... re the boat, it could be another cat that is pissing in there and TC is braving the stench to protect HMS Grumpy? [hopeful]
