can anyone give this sweet little girl a new home?

She has been living in our wood store for the last few weeks and for the last two we have been leaving food out. We put details up on local facebook pages, leaflet dropped and put posters up in local shop etc. No-one came forward so I took her to local vet and had her scanned for a chip. Nothing there and the vet told me she has a cigarette burn on her neck

she is beautiful, friendly and sweet- a fluffy tabby with the foxiest brush of a tail. Vet reckons she is around eight months old

we cannot keep her as our boy is an only cat and detests all other cats. He will go walkabout if she stays as he's done that to previous owners. She is very sweet with him and is well socialised

I'll help with the chain. I'm happy to do a road trip. I promise I won't steal her. Or will I 🤔. No I know there's another one out there for me. I'm West Yorkshire and happy to pick up from York and pass on.

We've been looking at cats protection league cats for rehoming in our area and there are hardly any that haven't been reserved. So that's probably a good thing. In the past when I've looked (last time 5 years ago) there were always so many. The only ones left in my area are ones that can't be with other cats or children. Apart from one with a kidney problem that can be managed with medication. I think we may go and see that one. I know a lot of vet nurses and I've had a diabetic car before that needed injections. So maybe everything happens for a reason...

Our plan now is to leave after I finish work tomorrow, drive almost halfway and stop at a Travelodge then continue on Sunday to Durham, get little kitty and drive back :)

We've done these kind of drives lots of times so not a problem and we know the road well as we travel to Northumberland regularly :)

Aww you're all so kind but honestly it's fine :) I've managed to rejig some stuff for petrol, and it will be a good excuse for a night in a hotel (well, the glam Travelodge anyway ).

Just wanted to post a "good morning all" and if this thread gets busy today and I'm silent it's because I'm at work until 8pm. Good old 12hour stints

We are leaving tonight straight after I finish (good excuse for a sweaty McDonalds after work being on the go and all!) should get to Donnington at about 1am, then a nice sleep (no DS waking us up at 5.30am 😁) before heading up to OP and dear kitty in the morning :)

This is all very surreal and probably a completely barking thing to do really but oh my god I'm soooo excited! OP kindly sent more pics my way, and they got sent round again :) everyone agrees she is the most beautiful little thing!

PIL are, I think, more excited to see her than they are us at Christmas if they hadn't had their two girls already, they would have snapped her up! But nope she is ours and we will love her with all our hearts. I just want to get my hands on that gorgeous coat of hers, she looks so soft!!

Sorry I'll stop gushing now! I'll check in when I can but I'm a HCP so sadly very time poor when in work!

Thanks all yes we literally can't wait. Kids are excited but don't think it's really happening yet. DS will be in bed by the time we get home but he will be so happy to wake up Monday and find a little cat! He absolutely loves them and gets them completely
