She has been living in our wood store for the last few weeks and for the last two we have been leaving food out. We put details up on local facebook pages, leaflet dropped and put posters up in local shop etc. No-one came forward so I took her to local vet and had her scanned for a chip. Nothing there and the vet told me she has a cigarette burn on her neck Angry

she is beautiful, friendly and sweet- a fluffy tabby with the foxiest brush of a tail. Vet reckons she is around eight months old

we cannot keep her as our boy is an only cat and detests all other cats. He will go walkabout if she stays as he's done that to previous owners. She is very sweet with him and is well socialised

I live just outside Durham- please pm me if you can help

thank you

Literally sat here all day wondering about this darling little cat, I don't know why but I've fallen in love with her and am trying to figure out how to get from Devon to Durham in the next few days. I would have her in a heartbeat.

Knittedfrog · 23/11/2017 19:41

Please do it stew. I’d take her but I’m too far away unless someone wants to bring her to Suffolk.

StewPots · 23/11/2017 19:48

KnittedFrog oh I'd love to. We have family in Northumberland, I'm currently trying to figure out a way we can get her down here or that we can go and get her. My heart is literally skipping seeing her, usually I'm just like "awww cute cat" or whatever but I'm really in love.

hugoagogo · 23/11/2017 19:56

Oh crumbs, she is lovely. Sad
My cat would freak if we asked her to share though.
Good luck

Wolfiefan · 23/11/2017 19:56

Can we do a MN cat train? Transport her towards you?!

StewPots · 23/11/2017 20:01

WolfieFan aww I just want to come and get her. The only time I've felt a connection towards an animal before is the cats I had growing up and when I saw my dog for the first time. She looks so friendly and sweet and fluffy. DH is also in love. We are trying to figure stuff out!

MrsGradyOldLady · 23/11/2017 20:03

I've shown her to my daughter. We're both very very keen. I'd told her we could get a cat after Christmas but she is so gorgeous.

We're 100 miles away though. Is that too long a journey? I don't know. Never taken mine in the car for more than 15 minutes

SergeantFredColon · 23/11/2017 20:03

I want her! But don’t know how I would get her to Belfast. Cat train for Stewpots is a great idea.

MrsGradyOldLady · 23/11/2017 20:04

Ha it looks like there's a bit of competition for her!

StewPots · 23/11/2017 20:05

Ok In laws have said if OP can wait till Xmas they will get her and bring her down when they come! But that's ages away and I'm sure someone closer would rescue her before that. Oh she is so so lovely 😊

Wolfiefan · 23/11/2017 20:11

Come on MN. Anyone near Durham bring her further south?

StewPots · 23/11/2017 20:12

@Gatekeeper OP I don't know if it's any good but PIL are near Alnwick and are coming to Devon for Christmas to see us, and have said they will pick her up and bring her down to us?

LyannaStarktheWolfMaid · 23/11/2017 20:17

Shamelessly placemarking. I already have two, who are bonded litter mates. She is beautiful though and I wish I could take her! I hope she finds a happy home.

DressageNut · 23/11/2017 20:18

I will be driving from Chester-le-Street to Bishops Stortford, Herts, a few days before Xmas if that helps.

PosiePootlePerkins · 23/11/2017 20:20

Oh I hope this has a happy ending! Such a sweet looking cat💕

StewPots · 23/11/2017 20:24

PIL can't keep her at theirs as they have two girls who aren't keen on others so that's the next best option but they don't come down until the 23rd!

I'm desperately trying to think of a way to get up over the weekend!

Somersetter · 23/11/2017 20:25

I don't know much about cats but would it be fair on her to have such a long journey? Could you try to re-home her locally instead?

CoolCarrie · 23/11/2017 20:28

She is a wee beauty, hope she gets a lovely home soon.

StewPots · 23/11/2017 20:28

Somersetter we moved cats from Kent to Devon and they were fine. They had access to food and water etc. It's basically a 6-7 hour drive from where we are to Durham, so only an hour longer from Kent to Devon. But maybe you're right in that respect. It may be too much if she's been through a lot already.

QforCucumber · 23/11/2017 20:33

We are local but have no space for a 3rd. However, if youre on Facebook search cat and kitten rescue - in memory of sassy james. It's a local rescue and they'd have her rehomed locally in a heartbeat :)

Gatekeeper · 23/11/2017 20:37

oh my...I really want someone to take her from here

I've taken all the posters down in our village 'advertising' her as found. I have horrible visions of her owners being complete stoners and claiming her back and using her as an ash tray Sad

@Stewpots if you are serious then I would love to make this work- she is an absolute darling!

@Qfor Cucumber
thankyou; I've asked to join that Facebook page

StewPots · 23/11/2017 20:42

@Gatekeeper I am totally serious. I'm chatting to PIL as we speak. Their only plan so far from their end is to pick her up from you an bring her down but they can't do that until the 23rd December I think. I'm trying to sort something financially my end to see if I can get up sooner than that. I've totally fallen in love I really have. Something about her...I do t know. As I said earlier usually I just go "awww cute cat" but then scroll on by. Something's telling me there's something special about her but I can't rationally explain it.

Gatekeeper · 23/11/2017 20:55

Have pm'ed you StewPots
