The living room door and squeezy bottles that make fart noises.
Try and find anything more terrifying! Bet you can't Wink

OP posts:
TheCrowFromBelow · 29/04/2017 16:27

His own farts.
The paper mache piñata I made for DS2s birthday which I left by the bin. It was like a very poor model of a Spanish bull and was clearly very concerning.
The really annoying drone that someone keeps practising with in the park. I don't mind him barking at that actually.

minxthemanx · 29/04/2017 16:36

Another racist dog here. Does his best beagle bray at anyone with dark skin. Hideously embarrassing.

Barnes79 · 29/04/2017 17:11

Dogs - especially big or boisterous (puppies are scary).
Fireworks
A specific model and colour of skoda car
Traffic cones
Wheely bins if they're on their side
My gym ball
The fireplace
Clicking my fingers or if I'm flicking anything away with them
Anything blowing at him - including me if I'm trying to blow a bug off him.
Hoover
Hairdryer
Being shut alone in a room apart from the kitchen
Hairbrushes and combs
Anything that falls over and makes a noise.

cheapskatemum · 29/04/2017 17:27

My female dog: white helium balloons once they hover around 4 foot high - I can only assume she thinks they're big, blank, bodyless, odd-smelling faces (which is, actually, quite terrifying, if you think about it.

My male dog: anything that makes an unexpected noise, even the proverbial pin dropping. He is really wussy about noise, oh and other dogs.

cheapskatemum · 29/04/2017 17:30

Lol at Haffdonga 's dog in pond

Filibabu · 29/04/2017 19:31

Stairs 😳

NormaSmuff · 29/04/2017 19:45

oh and there was a crowd of adults with learning disabilities that totally scared her.

OrlandaFuriosa · 29/04/2017 21:01

Cheap, any unexpected noise at all.. CanosFurioso becomes hysterical and lights out for home..

Any thing that might be a wonky humanoid. So cyclists - i.e. Centaurs. Motor cyclists, i.e. Motorised centaurs . Prams. I.e. wheelysqueakers. Wheelchairs, wheelyhumans, people on disabled scooters, i.e. Motorised people, chaps on ladders i.e. Giantlegs.

He also hates horses and cows, despite or because of being brought up on a ridiculous nt school cum farm.

Did I say he was affectionate?

OrlandaFuriosa · 29/04/2017 21:02

*Ridiculous nt ( ha!) riding school

JuneBalloon · 29/04/2017 21:54

Men without dog biscuits. Manages to (briefly) overcome her fear of the male adult population if a gravy bone (or similar) is offered.

The hoover and mop. But bravely stays in the same room in case I need protecting from said equipment, or so I like to think. DH says it's because she's stupid.

Dogs that try to sniff her bum. She's a bit of a prude. However, she very much enjoys shoving her furry nose up other canine's butts.

1stDinkyDecker · 29/04/2017 22:00

postman
anyone wearing a hat
anyone wearing high vis
anyone riding a bike

Jonutdozen · 29/04/2017 22:11

The little tykes cozy coupe when no one is in it

thatdearoctopus · 29/04/2017 22:15

When ds slides his hand under the covers of the bed where ddog is lying and sings the jaws theme.

Mrspotatohead18 · 29/04/2017 22:23

My aunties dog is scared of baby gates Confused

WeeCheekyBird · 29/04/2017 23:05

Ivy...she's seriously terrified of ivy leaves and will levitate while bunny hopping to the side to get away from them.

The wind. She runs with her arse practically dragging on the ground - in case it blows up her bum or something...

My dad, though he's been nothing but nice to her.

The dark.

She's a bit useless really!

MardAsSnails · 30/04/2017 03:48

Just remembered my old boy was terrified of Heineken cans. DH changed to drinking peroni because of it - he'd get barked at, then old boy would hide in the bedroom. I suspect previous drunken abuse - we adopted him at 9 years old, but even 2 years after he's gone, DH still won't drink anything in a green can.

My old lady is also scared of really big pictures. A shop near us has massive pictures of a man and a woman on its shutters. When the shutter is down and the people are visible (their heads are about 6 feet tall), old lady dog won't walk past it, and there's only one way home.

dilapidated · 30/04/2017 07:53

Anything smaller than a car that has wheels - bikes, prams etc.

But not scared at all of cars.

Also scared of men who dont have a dog.
Not scared of women who dont have a dog.

Also scared of men wearing backpacks or wearing red.

dilapidated · 30/04/2017 07:55

And sheep ! Ive never seen him so terrified.

If we are out on a walk and he sees a sheep in the distance we have had to turn back

TheSquatLobster · 30/04/2017 09:21

Wind
the hairdryer
the hoover
his own farts, but only the noisy ones
the cats
mice
moles . . .
Especially moles

He's 35k of lab/irish setter

MERLYPUSSEDOFF · 30/04/2017 09:26

Totally outing myself. A friend wheeled his suitcase down the hall and a bit of poo dropped out of his dog.

DN's humumgous labradoodle barks at pineapples, butternut squash and melons. Coconuts, swede and potatoes (unless they are large jacket size ones) are ok

Noitsnotteatimeyet · 30/04/2017 09:31

My dog (medium-sized retriever breed) is scared of:

Small dogs, especially chihuahuas and Jack Russells
Cats
Men carrying very large sports bags
Adults on scooters (children on scooters are fine)
Men with very squeaky shoes
Deliveroo cyclists (all other cyclists are not scary)
Basically anything which isn't supposed to be there, e.g. today someone's put up a tyre swing in the woods - it wasn't there yesterday morning hence needed to be woofed at

hairypaws · 30/04/2017 09:33

Traffic cones and abandoned umbrellas when they break in the wind and are left on the ground.

pieceofpurplesky · 30/04/2017 09:43

The red buzzer on pointless.

Funnyfarmer · 30/04/2017 09:44

Someone once told me why. Dogs don't like people with dark skin. Something to do with the way they see colours.
I also know some muslims see dogs as dirty and because they've not been brought up around dogs most are usually quite scared of dogs. Some don't like to go near them because they will have to go and cleanse. So muslim sees dog. Muslim feels anxious. Dog pickes up on anxiety. Dog feels anxious and afraid.

toomuchtoolate · 30/04/2017 09:45

My little Maltese has a hatred for any kind of animal whatsoever on TV, real or cartoon. We can't watch any programmes or adverts with animals in. Horse racing is the worst, which is strange as he's fine with the horses in the field near our house. Maybe because they mainly stand still Grin

Oh, and he also hates babies, toddlers, very elderly people and most black people.
