Fiona my cat is scared of hair dryers Hmm we've had him 14 years since he was a kitten and have absolutely no idea why he hates them so much!

My old boy was also very scared of hamsters in their little balls that they wander round the house in! Never tried to eat them or investigate just watched very warily from a ten meter distance Grin

ToothTrauma · 28/04/2017 15:57

Being brushed, and this one random woman at dog training who's never even looked at him wrong so I don't know what his issue is Confused

GiddyGiddyGoat · 28/04/2017 16:09

Love reading about other people's dogs' ridiculousness.
GiddyDog is frightened of her food bowl - not usually but if a bit of dried food is stuck to the bottom it is terrifying apparently.
Dustbin lorries, street sweeper machines, teeny tiny dogs (not huge scary ones), her own reflection in a glass door, brooms, mops, models of people or animals, wooden floors...

Not the least bit scared off / wants to fight or kill: hedgehogs, foxes, squirrels, horses... (not very original).

Likes to: drink tea (but only from a china cup) and drink water (but only from a glass).

BenjaminLinus · 28/04/2017 16:10

We have to check the smoke alarms when the dog is a long way from the house otherwise he's traumatized for days. He's also now scared of low/loud jet planes after an incident where he got trampled by our sheep that panicked at a low flying jet.

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 28/04/2017 16:12

Flies.

Dog in question is over 50lb.

ExConstance · 28/04/2017 16:16

Butch, large Staffie, is very brave when it comes to making aggressive noises at Mastiffs and Huskies but he is petrified of people sneezing, and not very keen on fight scenes on the television.

MrsJayy · 28/04/2017 16:18

Jay dog has the vet today because he battered his mouth chipped a tooth chasing a bloody fly i wish he was scared of them

CMOTDibbler · 28/04/2017 16:19

Ddog1
The traditional travellers - I'm not sure if its the tethered horses or what
Metal gratings or surfaces
Chihuahuas. He's a great big lurcher

Ddog2
Some normal stuff, but hot air balloons send him loopy

Bombaybunty · 28/04/2017 16:19

Woks and the iron. She also sea the Hoover as an enemy and has to bite it.

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 28/04/2017 16:20

The other ones keeps snapping at them MrsJayy. I can't win, there's always a fly issue with us.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 28/04/2017 16:42

The vacuum cleaner.

Ours would hide behind the sofa and bark whenever it dared to come near. I think she'd have liked to be brave enough to try to kill it, but it was too scary.

She was always scared of weird faces, in particular a large Halloween pumpkin I had put on the garden table the day after. Found her barking furiously at this foul orange fiend who was evidently lurking there with evil intent.

spiderlight · 28/04/2017 16:47

Anyone with the hiccups. Even us. I once got the hiccups at the top of a mountain and he had to be carried most of the way down because he wouldn't follow us.

UrsulaPandress · 28/04/2017 17:08

Nothing. He's well ard.

catslife · 28/04/2017 18:00

Lorries
Buses especially the noise their brakes make.
Fire engines and ambulances with sirens and flashing blue lights.
Any animal noises (particularly dogs) on the radio or TV.
Cows.

whomovedmychocolate · 28/04/2017 19:28

Our terrier is scared of certain TV programmes - anything with Phil Spencer in makes her bark like crazy.

But worse still is 'The Dog Whisperer' she hears the music and runs and hides under the sofa.

whomovedmychocolate · 28/04/2017 19:29

Oh and the Gruffalo in Thetford Forest- she was terrified (peeing herself terrified) of it. Twas hilarious.

ShmooBooMoo · 28/04/2017 19:31

Plastic bags, tweezers.

LoveForTulips · 28/04/2017 19:47

Not mine, but my Dads... say the word 'fly' and she looses her shit.
Seeing an actual fly, not bothered, but say the word, even in conversation and she acts like her life is over.

EleanorRigbysNeice · 28/04/2017 20:08

All things dangling above her eyeline. So, she hates town centres. Includes flags, hanging boxes, balloons, awnings ( especially the cheese shop awning) 😊

WilburIsSomePig · 28/04/2017 20:45

Our massive, ridiculously soft lab was scared of ..... the watering can.
