AIBU to ask what is the thing you've done in 2016 that's made you proudest?

For me - despite being diagnosed with Cronh's disease, I carried on doing yoga classes all year. Now I'm looser, more relaxed, and a nagging shoulder pain from a 20 year car accident has gone.

What are you proudest of? It can be big, small or miniscule.

That my cat, a scruffy, scared stray, is now a sleek, confident fellow who is at ease in his home. Im proud of him!

DeathByMascara · 01/12/2016 21:01

Had my beautiful son.

Managed, despite long standing depression and anxiety issues, to cope with my beloved dad's cancer diagnosis, chemotherapy and bone marrow transplant. It's a fine line to walk & there's a long way to go, but for the most part I've kept it together. Which surprises me.

I ran a half marathon - I finished it, I wasn't last, didn't die, and I did it in under 3 hrs!

I was also made redundant (whole company went under) and I'm really proud that I finished after 13 yrs with a very positive mind set. I am now part time for the first time ever, doing more at home for dh and ds and signed up to do an art class in Jan! 2016 has been all change for me..

dementedma · 01/12/2016 21:04

Have somehow kept my company trading and myself and others in a job.

wakeupandsmellthecoffee · 01/12/2016 21:06

The thing I'm most proudest of in 2016 is leaving my abusive marriage of 27 years and making s peaceful home for me and my ds

BuntyCollocks · 01/12/2016 21:11

I ran a 10k obstacle course. I haven't killed my fairly toxic family.

Rollonbedtime7pm · 01/12/2016 21:12

Delivered my 3rd baby home alone with just DH (and MIL on 999 call) after an unexpectedly quick labour - was so proud of us both for keeping our cool and dealing with it together Smile

Felt like a superhero for ages afterwards!

sarahquilt · 01/12/2016 21:20

Got a new job and dealt with some pretty challenging things all while studying.

tiggyhop · 01/12/2016 21:22

I passed US bar exam. 20 years after I qualified as a lawyer in the U.K. It blighted my year but I did it!

Thefishewife · 01/12/2016 21:22

Adopted my beautiful daughter she came home in April 2016

braceybracegirl · 01/12/2016 21:27

Giving evidence in court against my abusive ex

HunterofStars · 01/12/2016 21:42

Finally got rid of my controlling cheating ex. I've had a year of therapy and feel so much more positive and my relationship with my family has been so much stronger. I am also on medication for my MH issues and I am laughing more, for the first time in 7 years. I have also joined a church and am learning to meditate.

I gave birth in the car on
My own, while partner ran round screaming for help Grin

TeddyIsaHe · 01/12/2016 21:55

I gave up drinking. Haven't had a drop since May and I couldn't be prouder. It had got so bad that I would start drinking in the late morning, carry on all day and night and do the same the next day. I lost my home, my job and my partner. And then I found out I was pregnant, and stopped just like that. My soon to be daughter (I'm 33 weeks) has saved my life, I stepped up and worked, sorted things out with my dp and we've just bought a house together to have our family. I'm so proud that I have come so far, and I will never go back to how I was before.

CaulkheadupNorthStill · 01/12/2016 21:57

I got a new job, that I had been thinking about applying for for over a year. I didn't think I would get it, but I did.

HunterofStars · 01/12/2016 22:11

Oh and I forgot to mention that I did a 5k mud run and pushed myself out of my comfort zone and stuck to one of my resolutions. Grin

Cherrysoup · 01/12/2016 22:18

Left my job of 12 years and made a fresh start elsewhere. It was a huge thing to do for me and so far, it's been really good, despite always wondering if I did the right thing.

FasterThanASnakeAndAMongoose · 01/12/2016 22:19

Had dc2. Pretty proud of him.

Voted remain!

catlovingdoctor · 01/12/2016 22:19

I finished my gruelling degree with a 2:1. And got invited to two interviews at dental school!

gemdrop84 · 01/12/2016 22:24

Started on an access course, I'm wanting to get onto a mental health nursing degree next year. It's something I've wanted to do for a while now... eek!

DustyMaiden · 01/12/2016 22:27

Nursed my MIL at my home to the end of her life. Advanced Alzheimer's. she died in my arms.

MissDuke · 01/12/2016 22:27

Finished my degree, got a First and got a job in my preferred hospital! So far so good. Next years challenge is to lose all of the weight I gained in uni!

Flumplet · 01/12/2016 22:32

Got a new better paid job and sold this house. Looking forward to moving in to our new home early 2017.

Flumplet · 01/12/2016 22:32

Oh yes and became debt free also. Pleased with that too.
