AIBU to ask what is the thing you've done in 2016 that's made you proudest?

For me - despite being diagnosed with Cronh's disease, I carried on doing yoga classes all year. Now I'm looser, more relaxed, and a nagging shoulder pain from a 20 year car accident has gone.

What are you proudest of? It can be big, small or miniscule.

Gave birth to my second child in three pushes, an hour after contractions started 💪🏻Grin

Coped with a 2nd trimester miscarriage due to a chromosomal disorder and feel proud of myself that I utilised my mindfulness skills and stayed fairly level headed (although v sad) through it all.

OwlinaTree · 01/12/2016 19:26

What a lovely thread, well done everybody.

Led a new team to success at work, got through OFSTED! Had my daughter and now feel my family is complete.

gluteustothemaximus · 01/12/2016 19:26

Lost nearly 3 stone. Feel great and proud.

Had dc3 birth at home. Feel proud for that too Smile

Ginger4justice · 01/12/2016 19:26

I worked hard on my birth anxiety counselling and DS arrived in this world calmly and our bonding and breastfeeding has been simpler than it was with DD because of it.
I'm working hard on getting back into my volunteering and I think I'm getting better at it.
I've been asked to lead a toddler group I help out with.
Small wins but after a terrible 2015, 2016 has been lovely.

WildwestWind · 01/12/2016 19:32

What a lovely thread and some amazing stories. I've just had a pretty ordinary year and feel happy and content with that.

MillieMoodle · 01/12/2016 19:38

In the last few months I've come to a decision about my future, to get myself out of a life/career rut. I'm going to quit my (nice but zero-prospects) job of 7 years next year, and retrain for a career in IT, probably by doing an MSc conversion course. I feel so excited about 2017. And I have some great mumsnetters to thank for helping me see how it was possible.

guggenheim · 01/12/2016 19:46

Had a surprise baby - she's beautiful and I''m smitten with her.

Turned a really shitty situation around - don't want to give details since it involves ds but it's been traumatic and I've had to fight hard. Had some very dark times this year.

I have big plans for the future : )

MollyHuaCha · 01/12/2016 19:48

lilyheather1 · 01/12/2016 20:40

I did a Ted Talk about the terrible state of Sex and Relationship Education in Secondary schools, using my own experiences as examples in some cases. I was, and still am, very proud of myself :)

AnnieAnoniMouse · 01/12/2016 20:45

Did not kill my SIL, or brother, on a family holiday. I have EVERY right to be incredibly proud of that! Trust me 😂

I've got 30 days to pull something more impressive out of the bag...eek.

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 01/12/2016 20:48
