Just been outside the feed the cat who has his food in the outhouse. There, hanging from the old pipework are 3 absolutely huge cocoons. They are hideous! Black and more than 4 inches long. They weren't there yesterday. What the hell is going to come out? AIBU to be very worried?

About it being in AIBU

GiddyOnZackHunt · 14/05/2015 15:55

To be fair even if King Alfred had been paying attention and got the cakes out bang on time, I don't think he'd really got the whole baking thing sorted at all. Even cake coloured they wouldn't be GBBO material.

PeaceOfWildThings · 14/05/2015 15:56

Ah yes, a spider cat. Well known breed that wraps it's mouse catches up in a muddy spidey cocoon to be consumed at a later date! Grin

Moln · 14/05/2015 15:57

Why are we speaking of spider cats?

Lozzle26 · 14/05/2015 16:00

Get the cat and torch the outhouse. Seriously. Torch it. Now. Do it.

ShatnersBassoon · 14/05/2015 16:06

Have I missed the dissection? I'm agog Blush

PeaceOfWildThings · 14/05/2015 16:06

Moln...because you said ut was the cat wot did it. It was meant to be a joke, I obviously didn't hit the mark but nevermind.

londonrach · 14/05/2015 16:08

Anyone noticed op not been on for ages...she did touch the thing....i bet the cats behind this....

findingmyfeet12 · 14/05/2015 16:08

Exactly they same thing appeared in my garage about a year ago. It ended up killing me.

vindscreenviper · 14/05/2015 16:09

I think Moln is on to something about the cat being involved.

Have you noticed all the 'aggressive cat' threads swirling about lately Hmm

TwartFaceBeetj · 14/05/2015 16:19

I think OP has been eaten by the fungus zombie that burst out the slime pod

drop the bomb now! lets save ourselves!

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 14/05/2015 16:22

Awww well done YouPoo thanks for volunteering!

Zucker · 14/05/2015 16:33

So the OP has been swallowed by this thing?

FortySixandTwo · 14/05/2015 16:33

It looks like the things from the movie cocoon :( I hope it doesnt grow as big. Shock

thatwouldbeanecumenicalmatter · 14/05/2015 16:36

Great pics OP, I was looking for something to threaten the DC with if they don't stay in their beds at night.

Grin
Timri · 14/05/2015 16:59

Oh crap, how many do you think they'll be by the time OP updates again?

springbabydays · 14/05/2015 17:05

Well.

Isn't nature wonderful?

Grin
molesworth2 · 14/05/2015 17:07

If it is a King Alfred's Cake I believe survivaly/outdoorsy types use them as firelighters. I'm sure I saw Ray Mears use one once - think they store heat well whilst you're trying to get a fire going. Bit off topic I know....

mummaAJL · 14/05/2015 17:23

OMG. ...need to know what it is !!

Moreisnnogedag · 14/05/2015 17:27

Hold the fucking phone moln they can fucking move? Where's those cuddly moths - I want that instead!

iklboo · 14/05/2015 17:28

What is it??? Shock

VivaLeBeaver · 14/05/2015 17:29

Either fungus or gremlin pods.

Moln · 14/05/2015 17:34

Ah PeaceOfWildThings you see I thought they might be an Actual Thing.

Felt slightly panicked I might return home and discover my cat had grown four extra legs and there be many giant black pods about the house.

Confused

OP. How many legs does your cat have? Have you counted lately?

flamingtoaster · 14/05/2015 17:34

DH says send a pic to your local wildlife trust - they will be fascinated and will tell you what it is (or rush round to collect it Smile )

snowglobemouse · 14/05/2015 17:35

I agree with pp that suggested the thing from jeepers creepers
