I'm getting sick and tired of dinosaurs being forced on our children

CADministry · 06/02/2015 19:48

I'm really concerned about dinosaurs, and I think something needs to be done. The science behind them is pretty flimsy, and I for one do not want my children being taught lies. Did you know that nobody had even heard of dinosaurs before the 1800s, when they were invented by curio-hungry Victorians?

Charles Darwin's later theory of evolution entirely disproved dinosaurs, yet the dinosaur lie was twisted and adapted to try to make it fit. Any proper look at the facts will reveal that dinosaurs simply never existed.

Aside from the educational aspect, dinosaurs are a very bad example for children. At my children's school, several children were left in tears after one of their classmates (who had evidently been exposed to dinosaurs), became bestially-minded and ran around the classroom roaring and pretending to be a dinosaur. Then he bit three children on the face. One poor girl has been left with a severely dented nose and the whole class was left traumatised by this horrible display.

Nothing about dinosaurs is suitable for children, from their total lack of family values through to their non-existence from any serious scientific point of view.

Recently my sister foolishly gave my two youngest some dinosaurs toys for Christmas. After telling her to get out of my house I burnt the dinosaurs. My children were delighted because they know that dinosaurs are evil. I am fortunate that my family has been very supportive, and has disowned my children's former aunt.

Please, do what you can to get dinosaurs taken off the curriculum. Our school has been recently presented with a 214-signature petition, and following that and our recent protest the headmaster has said that he will take it the governors. We are lucky that he is so sympathetic to our cause, but I fear that others may not be.

If you would like to lend your support to our campaign, we have a Facebook group where we spread facts and research about the dinosaur myth. Hope to see you there! :-)

fattymcfatfat · 06/02/2015 21:09

unicorns eat dinosaurs...why not, the feckers bred with whales......

WineWineWine · 06/02/2015 21:10

I did think this was a wind up, but then a real genuine doctor joined to confirm that this is all real. I can't believe we've all been lied to for so long!
Thanks to Dr Carla for setting the facts straight.

ShipwreckedAndComatose · 06/02/2015 21:10

Coool!!

Is that really true about unicorns?

Mind you, you could nicely kebab a dino on the unicorn's horn...

SolidGoldBrass · 06/02/2015 21:10

Oubliette, is that a real dino-porn book or did you just spend a few minutes in photoshop?

Notrevealingmyidentity · 06/02/2015 21:10

Lovey I am a scientist. I've seen the evidence. And you know. I'm not a moron so I'm quite aware how real dinosaurs are. And evolution too.

I think Richard Dawkins once made a good comment on this type of thing (you know him right OP ?) that we really shod refrain from arguing with people who hold this sort of delusion because it sadly tends to make them believe that us debating it means there is something to debate when in fact there isn't.

There is only science. And somewhere floating aimlessly there is this rubbish. No connection whatsoever.

Belman1969 · 06/02/2015 21:10

Hysterical Fatty! GrinGrin

Baddz · 06/02/2015 21:12

Hmmm...You're not very tolerant of dinosaurs though op :(
Poor dinosaurs.
Haven't they suffered enough?

Enormouse · 06/02/2015 21:12

Hang on surely the Victorians were too busy with the industrial revolution, Jack the ripper and treating women for hysteria than coming up with the ideas for dinosaurs and planting fossils everywhere.

And surely they lacked the imagination to come up with giant lizards that roamed the planet??

stubbornstains · 06/02/2015 21:12

OP, you could not be more right about the effect that creatures like this have on schoolchildren. People forget how much impressionable children like to imitate.

For example, last term DS's reception class studied spiders. This led to an unfortunate incident where one child wrapped another entirely in cling film and hung him upside down in the PE equipment shed. Sadly, it took over an hour for him to be discovered, by which point he was severely traumatised Sad.

I was shocked to discover that the perpetrator hadn't been excluded. The school took the view that leniency had to be exercised, due to his difficult upbringing. Apparently his mother had killed and eaten his father shortly after his conception.

WILL NOBODY THINK OF THE CHILDREN????

Belman1969 · 06/02/2015 21:12

Well said notrevealing...

Notrevealingmyidentity · 06/02/2015 21:12

Fatty indeed they did. Made that abomination of a creature- the narwhal.
The dirty bastards.

Anyone else thinking that the Head has taken this to the Governors so they can all enjoy a good laugh?

Notrevealingmyidentity · 06/02/2015 21:14

belman

Why thank you. I am however enjoying this very much, so much so I almost don't want the OP to leave.

Notrevealing: just laughing at them is the best approach. Ignoring them unfortunately can lead to anyone with an imaginary friend (whether that's Christians, Muslims, Jews or any of the rest of them) trying to claim the right to be taken seriously.

BoreOfWhabylon · 06/02/2015 21:14

Enormouse I think you'll find it was The Devil, rather than the Victorians, that planted all the fake dinosaur bones.

To mess with our minds and turn us from the path of righteousness.

Belman1969 · 06/02/2015 21:14

Well hell why not? Apparently unicorns, fairies and such are "allowed"... So they could have made the liquified dino juice

MrsCakesPrecognition · 06/02/2015 21:14

Dino porn is real. Take a look on Amazon (and may your Recommended Reads be forever cursed).
I think it says more about people than it does dinos.

Pengyquin · 06/02/2015 21:15

Funniest thing I've read in ages!!

OublietteBravo · 06/02/2015 21:16

I'm afraid it is real (the amazon reviews on the US site are priceless)

C4Dministry · 06/02/2015 21:16

Notrevealingmyidentity, this is a common misconception. People assume that I and others with my beliefs are against science. Whilst others may differ, I cannot think of a single bit of science that I find objectionable, apart from dinosaurs. And paleontology is not a proper science anyway, it's based on conjecture and supposition. None of it is objectively verifiable.

As it happens, one of our members interviewed some members of the public about their belief in dinosaurs, and by simply explaining his position he was able to convince many of them of the error of their ways.
