Blush Blush Blush Blush Blush Blush Blush Blush Blush Blush Blush Blush Blush Blush

I just met my best friend for a coffee, to give her her 30th Birthday present before she goes off for a childfree sexfest week in Mauritius with her DH as a 30th Birthday present Envy. I got her a pair of very naughty Agent Provocateur, knickers, karma sutra guide, hand cuffs, a feather boa, and this chocolatey lube stuff .I hasten to add this was intended as a joke, I actually got her a day at a spa. She unwrapped a boys top from Zara Kids, a small puzzle and a power ranger action doll thingy.

This means the 4 year old boy whose party my DT'S are at has unwrapped her present. Shock Shock Shock Shock Shock. I know for a fact it has been opened as there had been a small mix up with times, and they had to wait 10 minutes to be allowed into the soft play, and so when I was leaving the birthday boy's mum was calling them over to open presents to pass the time.

WHY did I use identical wrapping paper? But more importantly what do I do when I go to fetch them in an hour? Even worse, the whole of their nursery room was invited, plus a few other friends, the majority of which are there. Doubly doubly worse, I was the only mum/nanny to leave, so they will all know.

HELP

"The ball pit is now closed and staff are hosing off each ball"

I'm sorry but until that point I was mildly amused and feeling very sorry for you, OP. Now I am laughing out loud too.

You poor thing!!

Any chance you could disappear into your friends suit case and leave the country with her for the week? Things might have calmed down by then!

TerrysNo2 · 04/01/2011 17:09

Thank you for improving my first day back in the office.

You will be grateful for this hilarious story you can reel out at dinner parties, one day, it may take a few years though!! Grin

Just be grateful you didn't buy your friend, as part of her present, a rabbit... :o

excellent! and if it were not for someone moaning about how easily things get into classics these days i would have missed this thread entirely!

it cheered me up on a cold and dreary evening!

simply had to keep reading! poor poor op! but absolutely hysterical!

midnightexpress · 04/01/2011 18:16

Serves them right for opening presents at the party - v poor form, IMO.

ThatVikRinA22 · 04/01/2011 18:32

id want my AP knickers back though....

perfectstorm · 04/01/2011 18:36

I'm thinking this strait-laced American mother's DH is going to get a pleasant surprise this evening.

tassisssss · 06/01/2011 14:15

funniest thread in a long time!

That'll teach you to use different wrapping paper in future. And teach the birthday child's mother NOT to open presents at parties! Am sure she'll be laughing about it later, even if she did have a sense of humour failure at the start.

whethergirl · 06/01/2011 23:54

OMG this is just brilliant. Am marking my place to wait for text photo.

Jacksmama · 06/01/2011 23:59

Oh

I just laughed so hard that my co-worker in the office three doors down from me came to look Blush Grin

Oh shit

Come emigrate here to the West Coast of Canada. That should be far enough away.

DownyEmerald · 07/01/2011 17:41

it's a wind-up right? nobody is that dumb?

controlfreakyhohohohohohoho · 07/01/2011 17:54

Hmm Biscuit Bear

MarniesMummy · 07/01/2011 19:16

Dumb?
Surely it doesn't come into it.

I've wrapped up presents (admittedly not of sexy adult/small child pairing) and had to unwrap them to double check which is which.

All too easy to think you're certain you know which is which and have a mix up.

What was the fallout OP?

Any update?

bambiandthumper · 08/01/2011 15:06

An update (well not much of it if any of you are interested):

I (well DH as I've commandeered his phone), has received a lot of texts about the, ahem, incident, from both parents in attendance, and those they've told. In short, basically the whole of our DC social circle knows. Blush. I'm also pretty sure that the nursery staff know, or will know, as well because one of the Mum's at the party volunteers at the school, likes a big gossip and is very pally with all the teachers. At least we are moving in May.

I haven't yet seem the other mum, apparently she wasn't too impressed, though hopefully she has realised it was a genuine mistake, I wasn't trying to corrupt her PFB and turn him into some nympho 4 year old. Hmm. That said, the DT's go back to nursery on Monday, though as DD had a (very minor) operation on Friday I might keep them both till Tuesday as she has to stay relatively sedentary until the steri- strips come out.

Please, please think of me come Monday (or Tuesday).

Oh dear :o
I'm sorry, it was so funny to read but I wouldn't want to be you right now - here, have some wine!

LongtimeinBrussels · 21/01/2011 13:20

This is SO funny! How did it not make the round-up?

LongtimeinBrussels · 21/01/2011 13:24

Ah, have just seen that it's in Classics so it must have been (it was linked through from another thread).

MumGoneCrazy · 21/01/2011 13:59

I read this when it was posted and I nearly peed myself Grin

OP if you see this what did happen when you took them back to school?

PinkToeNails · 06/05/2011 10:29

Brilliant. I know this is old, but I have just read it and it brought tears to my eyes I was laughing so much.
