I know there was no time and I feel all weighed down with the responsibility of it all, but here we are ladies, a new home...

night shabs

frumpygrumpy · 18/03/2009 23:00

Aw Ruby, holy crapola!!! He'll think he's in an episode of Candid Camera.

Pixi, I moved my DTs into beds over a week. I did one the first weekend and the other the next weekend. There was nonsense but I didn't even bat an eyelid, just kept tucking them in and saying "bedtime, night night" and it sorted very quickly. Mind you, DT1 doesn't sleep deeply and it used to frequently shock me to the core to find her standing next to my bed just breathing and watching me til I woke up so she could tell me she'd lost teddy Now at least she goes back alone and searches for him with the torch before I have to get up.........

Night girls x.

piximon · 18/03/2009 23:09

lol FG, dd1 does that already, it creeps me out occasionally if I wake from a deep sleep and find her hovering over me. She also does it when sharing a bed, I wake up to find her watching me sleep, very close too.

I can do this, I can get dts to sleep in beds, I can let my dcs grow up.....

Momma ds1 has a new bed with a pull out sleeper (not yet assembled that part) and he's desperate for your ds1 to have a sleep over.

frumpygrumpy · 18/03/2009 23:15

Pixi, you know that mothercare do all in one fleece bed suits in massive sizes? You can give them beds but you can still pop them in a babygrow style bedsuit until they are ancient

Seriously, it was more the morning routine that I found hard. I used to jump up and shower and get DD1 fed before lifting the DTs out of their cots.........all of a sudden I had 3 little people all beside me at the one time, all talking, all needing me. But you just adapt to a new routine. Ours now is that if they get up and dress themselves they can play or watch telly in my bed until I'm showered and dressed. Then we go down to eat. DT1 does it serenely everyday. DT2 wails and cries about it everyday

Let them grow.........you can always have another one LOL I'm KIDDING!!!!!

frumpygrumpy · 18/03/2009 23:17

I'm off to lift those that need to wee.......and then to bed. Pixi, you should be sleeping young lady How is your sleep pattern these days?

ah I'm still not sleeping FG. Go to bed around midnight, feed baby every few hours through the night, up before 7 putting breakfast on the table. I'm living on sugar and doesn't my body show it. I feel ancient. The time has come to start taking care of me, but I just can't do that at the moment, not enough energy or will power.

Morning girls xx

jennyroper · 19/03/2009 08:14

ha ha FG I just read your 'have another baby' gag. 2 months ago I was serenely telling everyone I would really like a 4th child. My twins are 4 mths and son is 2 and a half and I now feel like I would rather poke my eyeball out with a rusty skewer than get pregnant again. In a year I will probably have forgotten my exhaustion and be up for a baby. I'm not sure if my husband's memory is as fickle though.
I would soooooo love my mum to magically appear in NZ and give me a hand. I think I may have given birth to the world's most stubborn child also gifted with a glare steely enough to shatter diamonds.
This morning I put the babies in 2 bumbos on the kitchen top. They held hands and laughed at each other. Then my little boy cuddled one and said 'they're only little, be careful mummy'. Thank goodness for moments like that at the start of the day. All day I have had a warm glow thinking about it.
Am off to bed now night night

jennyroper · 19/03/2009 08:27

by the way I have just uploaded a picture on my mumsnet page I have finally worked out how to do it.
I really am going to bed now.
My friend had a baby boy called Marlo today. I have never heard that name before but I think it's pretty cool. What do you think?

triplets · 19/03/2009 08:37

Night night Jen........goodmorning girls. What sad news about Natasha Richardson, awful awful for them all, hate hearing sudden news like that. No plans to do anything exciting today, girlfriend just turned up with an early b/day pressie, she is off to Stansted, flyinh to Perpignan for 5 nights. Another friend has just phoned and asked us to her for supper on Sat, though Harry isnt really eating, shouldnt be drinking, and we need to find a sitter.........any volunteers? OFF TO SCHOOL!

Trips, I'll sit for you, I'll bring my own kernels and make popcorn, I'll give Becca a manicure and I'll do Supernanny on the boys

Ruby passed the door..............

frumpygrumpy · 19/03/2009 11:59

Hi Jenny, look at you, you gorgeous lot! I'm laughing at the picture..........we have one measly picture of the 5 of us together. It looks sweet but the pressure of getting it. Its like yours, a quick snap not a sitting but my god it took ages.

"DT2 has pooed"
"ok, well it'll wait til after the shot"
"nope, won't wait, its seeping out"

"DT1 is crying, she needs lunch"
"ok, well it'll wait til after the shot"
"nope, she's screaming"

"DD1......will you come here now"
"nooooo mama, I'm fed up with photos"

{grin]

frumpygrumpy · 19/03/2009 12:00

I see my grin didn't work. It was a wonky grin in RL anyway

frumpygrumpy · 19/03/2009 12:03

Indeed trips, very sad to hear about Natasha Richardson. A lovely mum and wife taken away too soon. Young Master Hillman says we have to grab life by the bollocks and shake it........ so I have just booked a holiday and got mad stern with the builders for overrunning on time and budget. There. What's everyone else going to do to shake up life today?

shabster · 19/03/2009 12:15

Matt would have wet his pants hearing you quote him Frumpster He used to tell my Grandma that she had to do that....she would give me such a look like this and then she would cuddle him and jokingly tell him off.

Ruby, walk away toilet brushes!!!!!!????!!! Versus a holiday! Get your arse back into the saddle young lady.

The same Spanish Island we went to last time. Sea view, 3.5 hours direct, hot and welcoming. There was a very handsome farmer last time and it was very relaxing watching him work in the late afternoon heat [giant grin]
