Thanks whoever it was that wished the DT's at happy birthday. Any reason why BIL sent one card between them do you think or is it because he is a numpty?

shabster · 02/02/2009 21:35

LOL Merly - you ok honey?

MERLYPUSS · 02/02/2009 22:00

Yep. I'm oki doki thanks. Cant believe I have survived the past year without: being certified, divorcing OH, running away or ageing about a million years. It has, on the whole, been really good having DT's and they are so much more fun every day. They were spoilt rotten on their bday. We had 2 cakes, every different conceivable type of party biscuit, mini sausages and pineapple and cheese on sticks. We would've had a jelly rabbit too but my sister left it at home . The boys ate far too much sweet stuff and Thomas ate fistfulls of chocolate cake until he was stuffed. Isaac on the other hand is in a not eating anything unles she can pick it up phase. The birthday tea he ate loads (of crap) but since then he has been on hunger strike. Any ideas of healthy stuff I can try?

shabster · 02/02/2009 22:05

I am a crap Mam!!! When my lot were that age I would give them whatever they would eat!!! Danny was a great eater but the rest - OMG. I think you are doing a fab job. xxx

Merly, it's because BIL is a numpty - my SIL does the same . Belated happy birthday to your DTs and congratulations to you on surviving the first year with a smile!

Can't help much on the food front I'm afraid - none of mine is a brilliant eater. DTs are currently going through a phase of deciding that everything they used to love to eat is now 'Yuck' . Once mine turned about 10mths - 1 year, I gave up on trying to feed them myself and just used to give them finger food...pasta with various sauces, small bits of meat, sandwiches, breadsticks, houmous, squares of cheese etc.

Watched Mamma Mia with the girls this afternoon - they loved it and I think we'll now have to get the sound track for the few songs that aren't on Abba Gold, which we already play a lot in the car (when we aren't listening to High School Musical ). Then managed to get them back outside and DH got home from work early to help build a great snowman. School's closed tomorrow as well - can probably handle one more day then I will need them to go back .

HM - hope you're feeling better. Your DH might as well have stayed at home for his skiing .

shabster · 02/02/2009 23:00

TRIPLETS - OH TRIPLETS - proper hope you can find us!!!! xxxxx

I allowed Tom to have a Facebook account. I told him only kids in his year should be on it. He was allowed to let Tigger be his friend on FB and a couple of other adults. I know Tigger will keep her eye on him!! One of the kids in his class has put a poster on his FB. Its full of stick figures - drama queens, pervs????, handsome, beautiful etc etc etc. This kid has 'tagged' the stick figures to who he thinks they represent. He has put Tommy in as the 'NERD' in the class. Dont know why but I am very mad at this kid!!!! What do you girls think? Is NERD good or bad? NERD to be means clever or geeky - if you agree then I am not bothered because I reckon that is a good thing to be. I know my lastborn is growing up - but I just felt sad at this title. Come to think of it when I walked up behind him when he was on Facebook he quickly changed the screen - although he always tells me if he is upset and, so far, he hasnt! Will have a gab with him in the morning xx

Thanks Shabs.
Isaac will eat egg noodles, white bread and sausages (although not today apparently). He no longer eats cheese, yoghurt(he cant pick it up)meat, pasta, spuds, apple or any veg. It's doing my head in. And then some wise arse says 'Oh you can see that Thomas was the first born' because he is 5lb heavier. Yes, he does eat better and more of it but he was also 2lb heavier at birth. I was even asked what the age difference was at swimming the other day.
Someone please tell me that the stupid questions stop aftet the first year........< bangs head against wall and rocks>
Anyway, I am off to beddy byes. I will leave the landing light on for TRIPS. Night all. (still hate this new lay out)

shabster · 02/02/2009 23:26

No it wont stop after the first year love - every fecker thinks they know every answer to every question. I think you are doing a fab job - I really do. Ignore everyone. Shoulders straight, chest out, smile painted on.......other people really, really, really dont matter. I am envious of you really envious. British people are very odd!!! You know you are doing a great job if people are putting their oars in!!! Your boys look good to me. Just smile and nod at the weird people......smile and nod!!!

Night night, God bless love xxxxx

In June, 1982 my twin boys were 6 months old. They had about a 3 pound difference between them. I couldnt get them to sleep so I put them in their twin buggy and walked them around, and around, and around our estate. We ended up with both of them fast asleep, sat outside our local. DH brought me a drink and we sat outside because it was a warm beautiful night. Some knobhead fool said 'Dont you feed the little one? Are you sure they are twins?

I remember sitting there and trying not to cry! However, his son, the same age now as my twins is in prison and my son, Danny, is an accountant, buying his own house, driving a beautiful car, with a wonderful partner, and an adorable baby........everything works out as it does....for a reason. Stuff them all Merly....just stuff them all xxx

found you. Last thread wouldn't work for me these past few days.

Shabs - nerd to me = an intelligent, well behaved geeky type. dh would like to point out nerdy guy often earns big bucks and gets the girl so not so bad a tag after all.

shabster · 02/02/2009 23:42

Awwww thanks Pixie - that sounds like my Tommy xxx

Merly, belated happy birthday to your dts. It does get easier with the eating. Will he eat eggs? My dts love dipping in a fried boiled egg. Bread sticks and houmous? pancakes with savoury topping? What about jacket pots? Chips are not he end of the world if he'll eat them. My dt2 still eats most of his food with his fingers, he loves baked beans, with anything. For picky dd1 I put everything separately on her plate so she can choose what she likes to eat but still has to look at things she won't eat.

Is he having too much milk? If they are having the same amounts, then littley may not be getting hungry enough.

I sympathise. ds3 is not eating enough. He's so thin. On 75th percentile for length but around 9th for weight. If I cut down on milk he gets barely anything. He's got a stinking cold and teething so not in the mood.

I cooked from scratch for the past three days and most of the food went in the bin, so disheartening, today I made quorn poppers, chips and beans and plates were cleared.

shabster · 02/02/2009 23:48

I really love anything like this

OOh are we having food troubles?

Ignore. Ignore. Ignore.

Trust me. I did the opposite. DD1 is on the verge of anorexia imo. We had to beg her to eat cheese and tom pizza tonight.

shabster · 03/02/2009 06:42

Good morning girls.....LOL not a single flake of snow, just freezing!!! Tom will not be amused. He was hoping the school would be closed today.
