Awwwww just had a nosey at your profile pictures didn't realise you are more than 'qualified' to be here with us lot in the nuthouse

Welcome....there I did it properly!!

Some other inmates will be along over the next few hours. Whatever they tell you about me, unless it is good, is just lies

Thankyou for the welcome shabster

The worrying thing is I've seen several threads on mumsnet 'multiples' '40+ mums' 'bigger families' and I qualify for them all and if there was an IVF thread I'd qualify for that too

Seriously though it's nice to chat to others who either are or have been in similar circumstances to myself
I'm at very happy place in my life right now, I just love being a mum in my forties although thats not to say that the past or indeed the future is without it's prolems and it's always good to have some advice from others who have experienced the same but like you say, I very rarely take my own advice

Ooohhhh that was heavy, lets lighten this up ....... I don't have to wonder what it would be like if you didn't change your pants, I have a fifteen year olds washing I do so I know

MUM41plus5 · 07/02/2009 13:06

Oh and don't worry I won't believe them unless they have proof

shabster · 07/02/2009 13:13

I was almost 41 when I had my DS4 Tommy - its an 'interesting challenge' isin't it? He has just gone to the Lowry theatre in Manchester to watch a play with school. The Lowry is very close to Manchester Uniteds ground but he has insisted on wearing his Manchester City shirt and coat

When he saw his classmates outside the high school he whispered 'Please dont tell any of them that you are 52 mum???????'

piximon · 07/02/2009 19:23

Girls, there's a twin mum in need here can anyone help?

piximon · 07/02/2009 19:49

to mum41plus5 I'm also a mum to 5 (ds1 very nearly 6, dd1 4, b/g dts 2, ds3 10mths).

MUM41plus5 · 07/02/2009 20:00

Aahhh all tucked up in their beds

Hello Piximon 5 under 5, I take my hat off to you how do you manage

shabster what are they like hey if he was younger you could use that a little bit like the santa thing, you know, 'if you don't tidy your room' etc I will tell all your friends my age

oooggs · 07/02/2009 20:04

missing you all but struggling down here - this is so hard - pixi how did/do you do it with such a small age gap - I am exhausted - Luke lost weight again and not back at birth weight yet - I am breast feeding, but in the past 17 days he has had two bottle of formula so I could get some sleep - was close to breaking down - it has got to get easier

MUM41plus5 · 07/02/2009 20:09

Thats a thought, I should start using that one, another good one, don't you think, is when they are a bit older and your authority is starting to thin out a bit the threat of showing the baby bath pictures to the boyfriend/girlfriend

Or is it just me want to get a little of my own back after all those years

duckyfuzz · 07/02/2009 20:14

give your opinions ladies - you know you have them

piximon · 07/02/2009 20:22

oooggs it will get easier, honestly. Next few weeks are bound to still be tough, but once you get past 6-8wks it does ease up a little. To be honest I do still struggle esp the school runs and feeding, which is pretty much what I spend my days dealing with.
I'm getting about with single buggy for dt2 (not a good walker), baby in sling and dt1 walking. I just bought the little backpack reins (they were on offer at Asda for £5 a set). At weekends (or days I don't have to use the bus) I use double buggy or let the dts walk.

What specifically can I help with? I found ds3 just had to fit in, kept him in the sling all day which mostly he was happy about. I still get very disturbed sleep, but I'm hoping he'll eventually get the idea of sleping though .

piximon · 07/02/2009 20:30

oooggs also wanted to say not to worry about using formula if you need to. Your chance of rest is far more important right now. I resisted formula this time around because I couldn't be faffed with cleaning the bottles and making it up (and experience informs me it would just end up another job for me to do).
REst, rest, rest. In fact have a bath then go to bed right now young lady .

duckyfuzz · 07/02/2009 20:35

oooggs - what pixi said about formula - she is very right and wise, you need rest, he needs food
