Slummy mummy vote here too. Fed the DTs fishcake and chips tonight. DT2 ate some but I'm sure he would've eaten more if there was ketchup too.
Doc said he is just not drinking enough so he gets (his words) 'a big plug of turd stuck in his tubes' and then the stuff behind the plug causes pain. Boy can that kid fart! We have to give lactulose twice a day and report back in amonth. I am glad that he didn't dismiss me as a paranoid mum and we hopefully can make him more comfortable.

Hi there. Yes definately bonkers. I had a small bleed last night so I'm a bit worried. I also had a bit of a go at my groom (sound posh but it's an emergency situation here- I normally do all 15 every day myself)She didn't give my chickens any water or take the eggs out of the shed for days- I don't think she's coping but really i pay her well so don't expect to come and do it myself. I lifted some heavy feed bags in a temper and I think that caused the bleed. I have asked a friend to find a foreign live-in person to help for the next few months as i seem unable to find anyone who wants to work here.

triplets · 05/02/2009 10:44

I don't like to ask but I gather your husband is really poorly Trips. I will send him healing thoughts. It does work sometimes- my mother is just recovering from advanced bowel cancer which we all thought was terminal.
I do quite a bit of it(healing thoughts)- i can't explain how it works but it often does help. My mother is in remission much to the amazement of the doctors.I have done 2 fertility ones recently but I think my hair must have gone in the bags with the subject's.
Ps I am a believer in some kind of creator (not necessarily the bearded one)but the principle's are the same , try to be kind, love people even if they have faults,etc.. It's not always easy when life deals you a bad hand to believe in anything except that you only have bad luck. I am sending you some good luck down the ether........

Neddie · 05/02/2009 14:33

Here's a joke to keep you all smiling through the recession

A man went to his bank manager and said: 'I'd like to start a small
business. How do I go about it?' 'Simple,' said the bank manager. 'Buy a big
one and wait.'

shabster · 05/02/2009 15:58

Neddie - please can you send me some?

I know Trips will be interested in your message.

Love the fertility thing - BUT PLEASE DONT SEND ANY OF THAT TO ME!! xx

Neddie - is the hair thing like fishing flies?

Neddie · 05/02/2009 18:32

Ok. Vibes on their way.
Another mum on the ante-natal sept.09 thread has had bad news- I'm not sure I want continue on there as it's making me jittery. I wish I could get another scan just to make me feel better but that's not a fair use of NHS funds.
My mother is bringing me a blood pressure measuring machine on Saturday.WTF? She's a fruit loop. I just had a thought- the vet has a portable scanner for my mares.....perhaps I could borrow it? Only trouble is that I only know what to look for in a viable horse pregnancy.

Neddie · 05/02/2009 18:41

fishing flies? Sorry lost there. i carry it around with me gently rubbing it from time to time and sending positive thoughts. There is a spell you can do if you are Wicca and into Hocus Pocus but I am most definately not!-my Great Granddad did healing and home made medicens for people and horses in Wales but not anything dark. If you aren't afraid I will tell you a bad tale of why you shouldn't do negative thoughts!!

TeaSleepFood · 05/02/2009 18:46

Fishing flies - Urban myth that using womens curly hairs was meant to have pheramone in them which made them more successful at catching fish. I wondered if positive thoughts for fertility were similar!

Ready for the bad tale

frumpygrumpy · 05/02/2009 19:31

Ah. I stepped in a black hole. Fuckadeefuck. It seems to have consumed me and I'm not sure what to do. It might be the heavy period I just had or it might be because I take no care of me or it might be because DP is away constantly atm or it might be, and most likely, because my lovely counsellor has just left and I feel a bit 'Bambi' and I didn't want to see anyone else. Maybe I'll need to see someone else. Anyway. For now I must go an sort out the DTs bedtime story (a foot has met an eye and there is much screaming) and DD1's homework.

MERLYPUSS · 05/02/2009 19:48

FG - WE are all here to drag you out of your crater. You have helped me so many times when I have felt crappy that it's is the very least I can do to haul you out. Here. Grab this rope. C'mon girls (in the voice of Charlie Mouse of the magnificent mouse-organ in bagpuss) heave, heave, heave

DOnt think italics are working

frumpygrumpy · 05/02/2009 21:20

Merly, thank you xxx. I am trying to do an online Tesco shop, whilst simultaneously MNetting, emailing the builders and the decorator, watching Hustle, making packed lunch, and laying breakfast. Also returning DT2 into bed fifty million times and I have wine for company. This is not good self-care when I should be in bed, in a dark room, watching telly in the dark. Now that would kiss me full on the mouth.

I'm sure I'll come through again. Its just that I had cast the coat into the back of the wardrobe and I was surprised to find myself wearing it this week. I've come too far to give up now.

Its time isn't it? We all need more time.

MERLYPUSS · 05/02/2009 22:20

We sure do. Everything gets put on hold until the weekend (when we should be doing fun stuff) and then we buzz about like blue-arsed flies, hoping we can still fit in some fun stuff, half doing jobs that are long overdue and putting ourselves last. Eventually we begin (and those half hearted 'done' jobs)to get on our own nerves to such and extent that we piss ourselves off and can't be arsed to do anything about it. And so the vicious circle begins again. Like falling down the plug hole.

piximon · 05/02/2009 22:40

FG - I've replied. Waffle mostly.
Merly how are you?
Did I imagine Mars has been sniffing around here again?
We seem to have a bunch of new people. Welcome to you all.

DCs will be delighted to wake up to more snow in the morning, we had tears yesterday when the snowman's head fell off. I'm hoping my driving lesson tomorrow is cancelled, don't fancy risking it in this weather but I have to pay if I cancel without 24hrs notice.

I seem to have a permanent headache. Makes me really ratty with the dcs, esp when they get loud and lets face it, noise lasts as long as they're awake. I recently met a mum with only one dc and she was saying how quiet her house is compared to mine.

Off to try to get ds3 back to bed. Will he ever sleep through....?

frumpygrumpy · 05/02/2009 22:44

pixi, do the lesson in the snow! The instructors should have good advice about how to drive in snow. And you never again get anyone to give you that advice. I learned to drive in the dark, in the heavy rain, in all weathers and times of day and it was a valuable lesson. You need to learn all weathers. Use the instructor!

FWIW, in snow and ice: high gear, low revs

shabster · 05/02/2009 23:35

Awwww Frumpster.....you give advice to people and really make them feel good....but then you run yourself ragged when it comes to you....how many of us are guilty of that? Pixie - hiya doll....My Tom now has 4 votes for the nerd of Year 7. He didnt look up from the computer when I asked - just said 'A nerd is like Clarke Kent and Superman Mum stop worrying.'

I feel unsettled, misplaced and very odd!!! Maybe because I am all three?

for no other reason than I love this song

Yes, you pinkfrog, you are guilty too

I must go. Tesco had no slots...... after I'd done the shop too!!!! DT2 is coughing. I need to shower and DP is about to walk through the door. Tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow.

Night girls.

shabster · 05/02/2009 23:49
